Iv seen the photos . I was already looking forward to the show , now I can't wait .
Iv recently been thinking about upgrading my alarms or getting them serviced, they are 7/8 years old . Can't wait to see the new ones. Hope they have got it right. I'm guessing not many changes . Smaller and more waterproof . And maybe a better signal on the receiver

Wonder how many people bought txis on the basis delkim said there werent any new alarms in the pipe line less than 6 months ago. Unless like everyone else they only did the industry standard 5 minutes of testing.

Fingers crossed they improve the receiver range and waterproofing, it's a shame as I loved the Delkim concept but the reliability made me sell up and downgrade to some MXR+

As I seem to be the one of the few who's not had any water ingress issues with either my mk1 stds or mk2 txis, both of which get used regularly, I can't see me buying these just to change the led colour and who really cares how big they are?
Wonder if they'll still have the distinctive delkim warble, I'm like a bloody meerkat every time I hear that.

Same here mate never had reciever or water problems so I definitely won't be changing anytime soon. Don't think the new ones will have any features that will make any difference for me

I've never had any water problems (although a mate has) but I did have really bad problems with 2 receivers that was enough for me to change to r3 sirens never had a problem with them but I will be honest if delkim sort out the receiver issues and reduce them in size I will buy a set
Only thing is there is now a picture on the delkim Facebook page, well on a poster in the background not exactly the best looking alarm if I'm honest and by the comments I'm not the only one who thinks that either, but I will hold my judgement till I see them in person hard to tell from a picture

What is it with people slating all new alarms for their looks. As long as they go beep when they should who cares what they look like? Delkims have always been ugly but having had every other alarm they've always been the most reliable for me.

As I've still got original Txi's with the 2004 receiver and have never had a problem with them, why would i want to replace em, they do everything perfectly that a bite alarm needs to do.
IMHO The appearance of a bite alarm only comes into effect when you actually buy the item, if you don't like the look of it, you would be put off of it, so you wouldn't really get to know how good the item performed.
When in use I don't care about the 'beauty' of a bite alarm, I reckon some of you lot must be sitting there admiring how beautiful your bite alarms are, whilst knocking one out. I won't comment on the antennae on the new receiver and where you can put that

what is top end alarm? what makes it top end? with size, waterproof issues, remote issues, sensitivity issues etc I personally wouldnt call them top end. yes they are popular, many many people use them but that doesnt make them top end. popular yes, top end no.. at least not for me. to many issues with them for that kind of money.

Despite this Delkim will sell them by the thousands in the first 12 months and then we shall all get to find out how good they are out in the field. I quite like Delkim's for some strange reason even though they spent most of the time drying out on my cars dashboard with the blowers going every morning or back at Delkim for repairs. If you haven't had issues with Delks then you don't fish enough for the problems to occur I'm afraid. 3/4 nights a week in all seasons is too much for them. They are terrible... But like a fool I have owned around 5/6 sets and each time promise myself to never own a set of them again.

just had the talk about all the features on the alarm at the show,seems alot of technology involved,lowering sensitivity but upping take sensitivity and vice versa, a do not disturb button on the remote, if you get a run over 5 secinds it lights all the led s on the reciever up to act as a light in ya bivvy to help you see to put your boots on.
seemed alot of stuff on the alarm that i havent got or wouldnt need tbh...im sure theyll sell by the bucket load but too techy for me.

I fish at least three or four nights a week, every week, all year round. Had the same set of TXI's since 2007, with faultless performance. No water ingress, no freezing nothing. I dry them out properly after every use and it has kept them working perfectly.

I checked them out today . They look quite nice In the flesh. Smaller more compact. I asked about the new features and to be honest , I couldn't really see the benefit. Basically as well as the sensitivity you could alter the bleep speed . So just a few bleeps normally could sound like a full blown run . Improved anti theft , so it has the standard anti theft with the alarms being turned off before the receiver but also if the alarms are moved so some sort of motion sensor .

I'm not sure I get the fascination with the led change. I've never once looked at my alarms and thought I wish they were pink or yellow or green, looked at em penty of times and thought ‘beep u bar stewards' but never I wish they where a different colour. Plus the nitelites wouldn't match if I changed the colour of the alarms.

Anyone else a little concernend about the lack of on the bank photos of these alarms. Surely theyd have taken some during testing, or is the lack of photos a sign of the lack of testing having take place?

What I would say is the thieft alarm is a good upgrade. When you actually have the new sensitivity settings explained to you it does make sense, especially for new delkim users, but for existing users there's no doubt going to be a learning curve as they are going to require a new way of setting them up.
I think for a middle aged old git like me I will stick to txis.

In all fairness on the LED changing thing, don't think it would be a deal breaker or a deal clincher, but as quite a few alarms have the ability to change the LED colour, then why not.
and for Gerry, if you have different colour bobbins for different weights and or light conditions then surely you would have to have the LED's matching, every good angler knows that FFS.

That's not completely true. There's still a low warble, it's not exactly the same but it's definitely a recognisable delkim sound. Call it the warble remix.

I think given how many features and how techy the new delks are, and given it's all fully digital I'm surprised they haven't done a version that's controlled by a phone app. I would think the sort of person who's gonna get the best out of these is very likely to have a smartphone.

I no next to nothing like a lot of people on here about these new alarms. But the Fact Delkim have I believe only introduced four new alarms in the thirty odd years since first introducing the vibration system says a lot to me..

I've had most alarms and the fox rx+ is on a different level IMO. looks wise , started to get used to it, cant beat the older look but for some reason these companies feel the need to change. The rx+ is so user friendly but packed with the right features. I do like the different drop back tone and changing the LED colours and brightness on back might be a gimmick but I like it. longevity is a different matter, but from what I can see not too many complaining apart from odd initial issue with some batches where the knobs where falling off but that seems to have been resolved. I also love the deepest tone setting they have, its unique to Fox.

I don't think that is the point.The point is selling second hand delks is limited to who will buy as the colour of the led is fixed on one colour.If you saw a set of delks forsale and they were red led but you had green bobbins then you might not buy them unless you are not bothered about them matching of course

Seems like people swap alarms around extremely quickly nowadays, probably due to water ingress with the mk2s but I think its shocking to sell them on if they have a problem.
Plenty of 'used twice' or 6 months old on the adverts for mk2s, if the new ones are built to last then with the water ingress issue sorted then you shouldnt need to sell them on?

100% surely they could have at least styled them on the mk1s considering how retro is the new modern. They are selling at £80-100 an alarm depending on condition which says a lot for them.

A lot of people on here are far to interested on what other people want from an alarm. If it suits people to have one colour, then thats good, i accept that. Why does it bother other people so much that others would rather have interchangable led colours?
I get the resale argument. Same with cars isnt it. Certain colours are more desirable than others so hold value better. Why shouldnt resale be a consideration for someone, and if it is, why are other people so bothered by that?

The changing of the colour on the RX plus ,IMO is a great idea , ill have Red one day Green the next or what ever and thats because I can .

I ve owned and used most alarms over the years starting with the Heron and all those that came after currently I still have 4 different sets of alarms from Fox ,Nash,JRC,and Delkim every one of them will do what you want it too
IE...let you know when you have a bite its not rocket science we are our worst enemies
my JRC Radar CX cost not much over a hundred quid for the set ........they are totally waterproof have a better range than my TXI`s according to the specs and have a drop back tone too they have a sensitivity adjustment
the new Delkims will cost nearly FIVE TIMES THE PRICE are they 5 times better ? are they **** !

Sensitivity is now called response and is controlled by the R wheel. There is no longer a +&- switch. You adjust how many bleeps you want the alarm to make for a given amount of line, called bleep speed.
Think of it like this, on the old alarms you are fishing a snag, hit and hold stuff, so you want a high level of sensitivity. So you set the switch to + and turn up the sensitivity. Now the alarm with sound with only a tiny amount of line movement, but the trade off is it will sound like a full on screamer at that sensitivity when in fact it's hardy any line movement. The classic delkim sensitivity.
Now go over to the new alarms with the same situation. This time you set the response to high, meaning you get an indication with a tiny line movement, just as before, but this time you turn the bleep speed down so it only omits a single bleep for that amount of line movement. So now you've got the same sensitivity as before but without the crazy run noise for tiny movements. Bleeps speed is cycled with a button press on the alarm.

Sensitivity is now called response and is controlled by the R wheel. There is no longer a +&- switch. You adjust how many bleeps you want the alarm to make for a given amount of line, called bleep speed.
Think of it like this, on the old alarms you are fishing a snag, hit and hold stuff, so you want a high level of sensitivity. So you set the switch to + and turn up the sensitivity. Now the alarm with sound with only a tiny amount of line movement, but the trade off is it will sound like a full on screamer at that sensitivity when in fact it's hardy any line movement. The classic delkim sensitivity.
Now go over to the new alarms with the same situation. This time you set the response to high, meaning you get an indication with a tiny line movement, just as before, but this time you turn the bleep speed down so it only omits a single bleep for that amount of line movement. So now you've got the same sensitivity as before but without the crazy run noise for tiny movements. Bleeps speed is cycled with a button press on the alarm.

Yeah, me too. No reason to run out and buy these new ones as my current TXI's are trouble free and only a few years old. Never had any issues with water ingress and even had them totally submerged by waves when fishing big resis. Zero issues.
These new ones look like little effort was made to move the game on; looks are important to some and they look to me very bland and uninteresting. Tech wise, not a lot going on there either. You'd think they could have come up with something better than we are now seeing. They've had long enough.
I'm sure the usual suspects who must have the latest gear will be queuing up for them, but if you already have a good set of TXI's, you'd be pretty mad to go for these new ones, especially given how residuals will no doubt fall for used versions. I'd only consider them if I genuinely needed new alarms and even then, I'd wait to see how people find them. Every sponsored wannabe will be saying they're amazing, so don't be fooled by that. I'd say almost certainly. If you look at previous times that upgraded delkims have been released then the old ones seem to be withdrawn from sale eventually. I guess they've known for a while that a new model was going to be released and have been running stocks down.

I guess there's something delaying production.
Probably logistical, but a small part of me wonders if maybe Delkim are having a rethink, given some reactions to comments about them not guaranteeing the new alarms as fully waterproof ?
That one point, especially given the well known issues with the current alarms, is simply not acceptable in today's marketplace, at least that's my opinion on it.

I would say that the pre order options have been removed because the "late spring" release date was probably a bit ambitious, nothing worse than placing a pre order and then the item being delayed for months...(my Titan Hide XL was pre ordered last October with an expected date of late November, that eventually arrived in March!).....or the release date being met but only a few sets available.
Plus they will want to clear as much of the existing model....

I saw a set live on the bank and they do look very neat, the user was impressed but did say it will be well into summer before they are available and not late spring....the first batches are evidently built and ready to go as hardware but it is the software/programming side of things which is time consuming.

agree with this I have just gone from delkims to rx+s and the drop back is really useful. I know if its 2 beeps forward and two backwards rather than just 4 beeps without looking.

I would have thought it would be to do with the vibration sensor not reacting to the direction the line is going and just the fact it is vibrating. obviously a roller can only go forward or back so probably alot easier to put drop back in.

The "Y" bit the line sits on is not the sensor.

I was ok with that for the old model models as the snag ears were released later than the TXI's, but for this models they could/should have included that or changed the design. Now you need to add another 50 pounds which I think is strange.

It's a bit of a con and I very much doubt I'd spend money on the new Delkims nor would I recommend them. They offer very little if any real improvement that I can see. Maybe I'm missing the whole R bit and rattle factor but I think it's additional hassle for little to no return Delkims sale pitch was unclear to me.
They probably still f*uck up in heavy rain.
The case should have been designed with out the crap aerial at the base which always traps line and should of been incorporated in the extended snag ears (case work). People will buy them, however the market is wide open to shame the granny out of Delkims market share, the ACE was a serious contender but failed and Fox continue to play at it, ATT have a long standing product that has some great virtues, Nash to have a decent product.
I don't think Delkim have been very innovative with these and look forward to seeing what the others produce during the next couple of years.
On the other hand it will allow people to purchase second hand Delkims at a decent price.
It's a bit of a con and I very much doubt I'd spend money on the new Delkims nor would I recommend them. They offer very little if any real improvement that I can see. Maybe I'm missing the whole R bit and rattle factor but I think it's additional hassle for little to no return Delkims sale pitch was unclear to me.
They probably still f*uck up in heavy rain.
The case should have been designed with out the crap aerial at the base which always traps line and should of been incorporated in the extended snag ears (case work). Are snag ears that necessary ? Just thinking for years we done without them but now it's almost as if they have become an absolute necessity?
in most cases no, however ive had them on a few occasions over the years in certain swims save the rod so for whatever they cost it was worth it!
on the old delks it improved the rear case too

I don't think this will be the case as Fox Ntxr's have gone up a fair chunk in value since the replacements came out

its funny, it seems on some alarms a mute button is "invented" so the indicator can be set in silence then they make the buttons to set the alarm make annoying bleeps

Got mine yesterday - 4 (in blue) with Receiver, Slimlites, Snag Ears and D-Locks
First impressions are that they're really very good! Love the compact size of both the alarms and the receiver, and the way that they seem to be put together. Everything just seems ‘tighter'. The snag ears stay put, the battery cover looks like it'll keep the water out, and even the redesigned belt clip on the receiver means the clip will stay in place (I must have lost half a dozen of these for my RX Pro!!)
Also liking the customability (if that's a word LOL) though it's initially a bit of a learning curve. The included instructions are very good, and I think Delkim have released a video showing how to set them up. I think that once you get them set as you like them, then there won't be much fiddling required on the bank. The stuff I'd want to change whilst fishing (day/night LED mode, vibro alert, beep speed, volume, response; etc) is all a single button push or the turn of a dial - seeeemples

Does your receiver have a strange rattling noise if you tap it against your hand? almost sounds like the internal aerial is a spring of some sort and moves around inside the receiver....
otherwise very pleased with them, the difference in build quality compared to the TXis is higher, not much bigger than a Nev and infinite adjust-ability.
New D locks fit perfect and are compatible with the old feet, and the backs are screwed on now so none of the old problems with battery covers. I got the snag ears too and they also are spot on.
LEDs are stupidly bright, glad you can dim them a fair bit.
A little complicated initially but once your used to them very well thought out in my opinion

Delkim have confirmed the website will be updated to allow for product registration - possibly this week
I also asked if all user settings are retained when swapping out the batteries and they are, providing the batteries aren't flat (or out of the alarm) for prolonged periods - i.e. months!

If you care to read back over time Mr blanko I have always said if delkim sorted out the **** receivers and water ingress issues I would be very tempted to go back to them.The old txi looked terrible imo and did not do as it should.If after a few months of these being out there is no issues I still might be tempted but I can't see me changing my rx+ for them if I'm honest

Pal of mine has his now, first time out and one packed in after sitting out in yesterdays torrential rain. I got a text from him, none of it suitable for public viewing I'm afraid. He's returning all 3 he bought. Good luck everyone... always a risk to jump in first with new products I guess.

Looking on FB and the comments you see from non Delkim users I bet that is pure hearsay bull **** regarding the rain and alarm packing up ...... 
A mate of mine once had a delkim, snap off the bankstick, on its own, a fly then landed on his basia spool and bent the shaft. Then on his way home, all his korda end tackle exploded and killed him

I blanked on a day session last December, I reckon it was due to my delkims being on low tone.
My mates reckons it was because I had delks so it must be true.
I do think I'll keep my TXI 's tho, I can't see the point of changing them and to be honest I think the new receiver is too complicated and a lot of the new modes are pointless

Anybody able to help? I can't find anything in the instructions, on the rx-d depending which alarm has gone off the rx-d will flash that led very faintly once every 5mins or so? Turning the rx-d off and on doesn't clear it, any ideas? I have emailed delkim but as it's a Friday night I'm not expecting a reply just yet!
Edit.... I had a response! It's the power on indicator, it flickers the last active channel in case anybody else wonders

I'm currently using my set. Think they are brilliant so far. Seem very well built and look good too. Think my ecus won't be used much now although I have found them to be good also.
Still got a set of txis plus that I got on first release which apart from one never let me down. The one that did fail delkim repaired with no fuss.

Well a guy I know has used his new delks in this latest onslaught of rain and his alarms have not missed a beat and he says he can happily go for a wee behind a tree without his receiver not picking up his alarms anymore.Hes done 3 nights and is extremely happy with them

Could any new delkim owner pls put 1 Alarm into a bowl of water and see what happen?
I still use my original TXi`s, but one of the antennas has broken and is now sat along the bottom of the alarm due to a very shoddy self repair attempt; but despite this it still works, still connects to the receiver and doesn't miss a beat even in the rain. Probably tempted fate now but they are 19 years old and still perfect. Hard to replace them when they are that solid.
I'm gonna do a test tomorrow with a old wychwood alarm it might not have all the delks bells and whistles but I bet it works after 20 seconds deep in a bowl of water then a quick shake off... il film it for proof then il soak it for 10 mins it might still work lol

I used mine for a week and they worked flawlessly. I loved my ecus which replaced my old txis as my main set of alarms but I can't see myself using them again.
They were fine is torrential rain, heat etc. Not really got my head around the beep speed yet but default settings seem fine and response about half way for the conditions I was fishing in.

They do look very good alarms and receiver but jesus christ how much setting up do they take.Press these buttons for this press that button for another and the night light function on the receiver is not as good as on the fox rx+ receiver imo that's just one nice white light not too bright either.I really can't see me changing

so each tackle shop has to sell it for the exact same price with no incentives. sounds like delkim are ensuring that their product is sold fairly amongst tackle shops, so the big boys dont get all the trade. no difference in price from your local tackle shop who couldnt offer you much incentive, to your angling directs who can offer £100+ discount or incentive and not make a dent to profit margins.

The product is strong, very strong to be fair, the competition is roller wheel so zero alternative.
Bought the wife a mini Cooper New a few year back exactly the same zero movement they were not interested, mini don't seem to have suffrered to much for sure, same with porshce who are the masters of supply and demand.
Used to fish a lake at 148yrds full of weed and tightish to an island, 4.5oz lead and cranked the mono until it pinged took about 10mins to do, sat it on the delk and caught more than my far share, they are brilliant for that
They could pick up something going on that no roller wheel could, the new foxes may be do though by the sound of it.
Just sold my atts by the way superb bit of kit and kept 2 of the 6 with a receiver for sneaky stuff.☺☺so know how the rollers work.

I think it's because they have removed the codes due to it being included on Delkim items and they are breaching the rules set out by Delkim to all retailers.

Just cleared all my history and data and that hasn't made the codes work on anything so guessing they have dropped them codes now. Shame as I almost exclusively use TFT as them codes always seemed to work

So the RX+ have been faultless since i got them. No issues, actually liked the roller wheel after years of owning delkim txi+.
As with the RX+, the styling grew on me, wasnt particularly keen on either at first.
Side by side, the txi-d is smaller than the RX+. It looks a little more purposeful than the RX+, however i dont dislike the look of them. Build quality delkim have really upped their game. The screw on battery cover, the aerial housing, all an improvement on the previous model. For some reason they are still using the wired battery connector, as in the previous model, which although only needs touching when changing the batteries, is still a week point that im sure they could have designed out.
Both alarms are solid, and both have their own merits in terms of looks. The RX+ do look huge when side by side though.
Features wise, the RX+ is pretty simple in comparison to the delks. 3 position switch, off/on/night mode. Volume tone and sensitivity, and brightness and led colour change. All have an individual dedicated button/dial. The delkim however initially seems quite complicated, press 2 buttons on/off, access set up mode to change tone, beep speed etc. However once set up, response and volume are the only dials you really need on the bank. Colour change leds would improve them, yes they arent essential, but why not have them.
The receivers are what they are. Foxs again is simpler, switches to do simple things. The delk seems unnecessarily complicated to do something that dedicated switches could do, but again, once set up, volume is all you need on the receiver.
The delks are currently sat on my banksticks, once the fish stop getting freaky, ill take them out for a session and see how i get on and come back with my thoughts.
As it stands at the moment though. I will likely keep the delks. Are they better? No i dont think so. I have just always been a delkim fan, and think i prefer the look out of the 2 alarms

I actually think the Mel&Kim new styling is a bit plain. I think they'd have looked better with a raised circle around the speaker as a little retro nod to the old std models.

Not sure mate. Possibly the case but not sure how, always wipe them on my leg before i put them away to make sure there is no grit. Hadnt paid much attention to it until i considered selling them havent looked properly but was hoping it was a bit of dirt.

Tbh I have nash r3s bought them because my delkim txi constantly let me down with the receiver one bit of grass between me and my rods they wouldnt pick them up (well at least felt like it) but if delkim have sorted the receiver issues out becuase I no 100% I'm not the only one with this issue I will buy these becuase I like the look of them

Out on the Bank with my brand spanking new txi-d's for my 1st overnighter in a while. Massive thunderstorm and torrential rain tonight. Just after the rain stopped, my right hand delkim screams off, but there's no line being taken. Been here before with my original txi's, but only after years of abuse. Not a happy bunny at all at 2am. Luckily I'm on a 2 rod water and can now use my middle alarm!

You are the 2nd person that I heard of that's had this issue. The other person had 2 out 3 stop working after Friday nights downpours
If you pull the casing along aerial part of receiver without much enough where join is the it opens up almost like it's not sealed correctly is this true?

Mine havent been out in the rain yet. Think ill keep hold of the rx+ for a bit longer now. Was pretty much decided on the delks but got a week at sandhurst coming up. Dont want to be caught short. Hopefully its only an issue with a few unlucky ones and not a general problem.

I reckon the issues must somehow be related to the battery cover. I've never had any issues with mine in years, but I've had the screw on backs fitted pretty much since I've owned them.
I'd be amazed if delkim haven't sorted this issue. It's not like they aren't aware of it. The looks of the new ones have grown on me but instead of adding loads of additional stuff. I'd have preferred just a simple version but with digital inners.
In all honesty apart from sensitivity how many of the functions would you actually use once the novelty has worn off.

That's assuming it was the battery cover that was the problem with the old ones. I have to say I always kept a close eye on the covers and still had problems.

I have contacted delkim and have sent the dodgy alarm back to them this afternoon via recorded, signed for.
They are exchanging the alarm.
Cost me £7.40 due to the higher postal insurance. Won't see that back though.

if you pack anything away wet it wil give you problems later on. i was advised not to use my rubber hard cases for my mk1 delks as any moisture on the alarm cannot get out. this came from an friend who repairs all types of alarms he then went on to say that the delkim sensor can swell up when it gets wet and if its not dried out properly they will give you trouble. allways dry out my alarms in the house for a day or two after a session.
however you are allways going to get some not so good ones in a batch and i will be watching this to see if it is a general issue or an few isolated cases

They are reimbursing me the £7.40 for postage, as hoped.

Fox alarms have the cases that only cover the front so maybe let the alarm dry out a bit better.I really hope it's just teething problems most have them even the ntxr and rx+ had them but for now I'm sticking with fox

I used my new delks in some very very heavy rain recently thunderstorms everything down here, I used them again yesterday they still work perfectly fine no problems at all and they got a proper soaking for well over 12 hours and no problems with them.
As for drying stuff off I normally do becuase I dont see the point in paying all the money we do and not look after stuff.

Oh dear. This could be very very damaging for delkim. I've spoken to a lot of old grumpy people like me who already think they are overly complicated. But being so loyal to delkim for so many years I couldn't see me ever buying anything else, but I'd not pay top dollar for something unreliable. Shame.

I'm not going to lie mate when you first see them or watch a video on them it's a complete confusion but once you get a set and read the instructions it's easy from there on. Like it's been mentioned half a hour setup when you first get them then it's very very simple after that mate.

I hardly set mine up at all.....just turned them on, paired them up, adjusted the response dial and that was it....job done....they can be as easy or as complicated as you want!

Took me half an hour of slowly watching the video but have now got them paired and set up. Once you get the knack of it it's fairly simple and only needs to be done once.
One a side note wonder if any of the new delkims on the last monster carp went wrong in the heavy rain they had?

Half hour to set them up from the box that's a right ball ache, I wonder how all the other alarms work so well on having dial knobs and one minute set up time. I don't think any of them failed in the rain, but I like the way they all flash when you get a run, looks so bling compared to my NTXR'S that only has the one head go off on a take

Hi guys. I have Delkims Txi Plus and I must admit that the remote range is simply terrible. It is enough to hide behind a tree or cover an antenna with your palm to receive no beeps. I was thinking about upgrading to Txi-D but I must be sure that the range was improved massively. E.g.: even of I am 200 meters away from my alarms, behind the trees and bushes and the antenna is covered with my hand - I should not miss a single beep. Could someone perform such a test?

I did do a test when I first got mine, with the rods brought in I got my dad to pull the line to make the delkim beep. I did this at different ranges and begind different obstacles. At one point I was about 150 yards away behind a tree on the other side of some reeds and it still picked it up, definitely improved the receiver I had the same problems as you with the older ones, although I never actually go any further than about 20ft from my rods when I'm actually fishing

The scenario is simple. I need to go to dump some **** to a small cabin which is situated 200m away from a place where I fish. I cannot **** closer. I do not want to miss a beep then. What is more I had a situation when my receiver was 20m away and it did not pick the signal. I just heard my reel during carp run. I need to be absolutely sure that new Delkims are perfect in that matter.

It's to let you know the receiver is still on the last LED to sound will the flash every 2 mins... very annoying why they have done this god only knows no way to turn it off ! Hopefully they will remove it in a software update I f enough people complain!

I'm so glad I did not have any of these now and have stuck with my rx+.Some of the features are very good but there is nothing on them I can't live without but a flashing led I can live without surely at night that's got to be annoying

Im fishing for the week this week. Really pleased with how they behaved yesterday with that wind. Got a few days of rain this week so with see if i have any issues then.

I'm gonna get a third 25 Plus anniversary normal Delk soon. I really don't get the fuss about wireless, they are loud enough to be heard from Mars but if you don't want to wake the lake up just stick a couple of £4 leads into an old £30 used (tough as old boots) Fox (or even Bitech Viper)! Sounder box ffs.
Everyone is making out like it's a bivvy light going off it's hardly anything and I didnt even notice it at first becuase it is only a very dim one flash not as bad as some are making out, the alarms are brilliant I'm very happy with mine

I left my iPhone in the sun the other day and it locked itself with a message it was overheating and basically shut down until it cooled off which took a good 30 minutes in a cool bag. Maybe the receiver is similar. Don't understand the blinking receiver problem it's not Blackpool illuminations it's a dull blink I like it as I know it's on.

If the delkim receiver has got that built in then surely they should tell owners or warn them about leaving in direct sunlight.Perhaps they should be called delkim gremlins as don't like water or sunlight .It does seem most people who own them do like them though surely that's a good sign

I really like mine so far. The blink wasnt annoying, apart from not knowing what it was. It needs something to tell you its on as you cant tell from the switches as you could on the older models

To be fair anything black sat in direct sunlight with the recent heat has the potential to cook, I'm sure someone mentioned there fox alarms did the same thing in sunlight.......
Little flashing light is a good thing as you don't have the reed switch anymore to glance at to know your receiver is on.......

Maybe they are designed to allow them to be sat in the heat. Would make sense as they are likely to be out in direct sunlight for periods of time. Receivers, phones, tvs etc, arent designed to be outside in the sun, so dont jave anything built in to help

Surely it is reasonably foreseeable that something designed for 100% outdoor use could be exposed to long periods of heat and should be able to withstand all the elements as far as possible? After all, have you ever seen a warning on a set of Receiver or alarm instructions about problems in direct sunlight?
Whilst i completely agree with your comments on phones/TV's etc most alarm heads and receivers are made out of the same materials and have very similar component parts...... ......i personally have left various Receivers, (Fox, Delkim, Neville etc) outside my door on a bucket or hung of the end of my peak and never had an issue....
Hopefully for the guy concerned it was a one off...

In all the videos I have watched on the new delkims I have not seen the flashing led mentioned but I don't think that would bother me but the other problems being reported have put me off for a while.Im not saying never but will let the teething problems be sorted out

The floor bouncing up onto them. Not put a foot wrong. Think as with all things there will be a few wronguns that get through, but mine have been spot on. Im happy to put my rx+ up for sale now as these have proven good

Well, they got drenched, and covered in muck, from a days worth of rain. Now i would say that is good enough for me to say i have not got water ingress issues on mine, so i dont need to keep spares just in case.

My txi were perfect for two years and started playing up and over about a year became unreliable, sadly having them serviced was only a short term fix. These new ones may be better for reliability but only time will tell, personally I would expect many years of trouble free service from them before I would say they were a good purchase. Let's be honest they are one of the most expensive alarms out there. I didnt dislike anything about them mate. I bought them when the new txis rumours surfaced, so i could sell my older txis before the market was flooded with them. Was a financial/convenience thing. Never had any bother with the rx+, they worked as well as youd expect, did everything very well. but i was always going to get the new delkims, as ive always used delkim.

I can't understand why Delkim have decided to put so many, (useless?) Features on the new model, surely that's potentially more to go wrong?

What they should do is an EV equivalent in the new casing, make it wireless and have one manual adjustment.
If you're going to loosely copy the silhouette of a Neville, there should be a simplified option. If they stayed dry, didn't freeze like a roller, didn't require an IT degree, didn't crack like nev cases and cost about £100 they'd sell **** loads

You have touched on some truths here. The real issue here is that the main body of daily regulars on here want every single new member to come on here all humble and naïve so they can and only `they` can show them the way and guide the newbie into their way of thinking. If someone new comes along and starts to offer guys advise they are made as unwelcome as a horsefly. Just because someone is fairly new to the forum doesn't mean they are inexperienced. Some of the gash written by the select few is joke worthy, but everyone else has to bow down to their computer fishing knowledge. As soon as one starts the others come for a back slap and bolster each other up. Shameful. This exact thing has been said before and here it is again.

I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong but since I swopped to fairy bottle tops my catch rates dropped right off. I'm sure I'm using them right, I turn up, squirt the liquid out into the margins, then use the bottle top as a bobbin. I do this on all three rods. Is this not right?

Surely to join a long thread without reading it all from the beginning, is like starting an Agatha Christie novel 3/4 of the way through. You're never going to be in with a chance of finding the truth. Also you're likely to waste time by repeating questions and answers. This was Around 3 alarms with receiver which works out around £400 in your country but they are pronounced gwelkim here

Delkims have a very good sensitivity button. I have used them for the past two decades without any issues.

Don't r3s do that for half the price ? Or Atts ? they detect less than a MM of movement so why in any situation would you need a more responsive alarm ? Or another sausage that follows crowds.

A roller wheel is not as good as a vibration sensor for indication. Simple as that. It's well known. Why would you not want the best indication you can get for your money? If you don't have the funds for delkims then other alarms do the job but if you have the funds then surely you buy the best you can?

One situation that I've come across and the reason I got rid of my microns years ago. I was pike fishing in the winter, it was a bloody cold morning. Because .5mm or a small vibration you'll respond to either the exact same. So no it's not needed. Any reliable indicator will work. You telling me you wouldn't have caught your PB or a target fish because of A Delkim alarm.

It did tickle me that line. As it's a delk thread. Years ago in France I had a set of Mk1's with the tx2000 transmitters, absolutely hammered it down for 3 days solid, vertical rain that wouldn't shift. We had a small BBQ in the cooking brolly and we're doing a couple of steaks when one of the delks goes into one tone meltdown with the bobbin stationary. Replaced it with a back up micron and decided to dry it out on a piece of line from the brolly rib over the BBQ. Yep pretty soon the line went and one red delk on the BBQ. Fished it out with tongs it looked like the elephant man. Switched it on and it worked perfectly for the rest of the trip

Vibration Sensors are just as prone to freezing solid; I've witnessed it myself when Piking – all the dew settles on everything and then a sudden freeze, a Roller or Vibration sensor does not work when encapsulated in solid Ice.
But if it's a Roller Alarm were you can remove the Roller, one drop of Oil on the spindle and it will never freeze (Oil Repels Water= impossible to freeze.)

Don't use NGT alarms sorry chuffer. Atts at £400 cheaper 6 years old now maybe more. Granted spares now and r3s last few years again cheaper and more reliable.

I didn't rate Atts personally. Just to much hassle to switch between sensitivity. Alarms will always be a personal thing.

I think was a very smaller number of alarms I have not see any negative post since the first few in the rain?
Mine haven't missed a beat in all weathers the only negative is the last activity led flash on the receiver which is total waste time.

I've seen 3 separate reports of the Receivers either switching themselves off or failing if left in direct sunlight, (then not working again until they have cooled down..... ).....
My mate had a problem with water ingress.....heavy rain, (not a monsoon by any means) and although they didn't fail when he dismantled his bars at the end of the session, water poured out of the speaker hole at the front on 1 of the pair, heaven knows how it got in there but the other one was fine???
Plus there's the ghost runs....
Just can't help but think they have missed a few tricks with the new model. Size wise they are spot on and although they look like an Owl, (not good for a Blade!) they are nice and compact. Why on earth they have made them so complicated though is beyond me, more to go wrong!

Have you seen anyone get a reply from delkim about heat and the receiver shutdown? I know this is normal for mobiles to do this.

Rather predictably they said like any electrical item, don't leave it in direct sunlight, however, when asked why the heads don't pack up when they are out in direct sunlight all the time, they didn't answer....
Personally i have left receivers on buckets or hung/clipped to my bivvy in the sum for years and never had one fail...

For me they are way better than before, set them up beforehand so all systems go, Hardley touched them then for the rest of the week where before always twiddling with them for some reason or other

I fancy them but i will give it another year, see how the opinions are then. Plus my rx+'s are also spot spot on, switched to rx+ after my old delkims started playing up, and losing sensitivity in heavy rain.

Anyone used them in France near pylons?
I was recently at crystal waters and the guy in peg 7 couldn't pick up a signal a couple of meters away on the old txi+. I was on the opposite side and couldn't use the D setting because of the crackling after a tone. Looking to get the Txi D, just need to know they'll work under all circumstances.

Never had weather related issues with the txi's myself... parts issues oh god yes, but then I had that with the fox RX too.
Is this your own experience braders? I don't want to go back to fox alarms if I can help it, and the timeshare relationship I have with my txi's is beginning to grete a bit...

Braders1978 doesn't own the delkims himself,he just likes to bash the carpforum about how bad they are, according to the few problems he read from others.
Read his other posts, then you know how unbiased he is .Nuff said. When he has saved enough money with his paper round to finally buy them you wont hear him say anything negative about the Delkims any more.

got plenty of money to buy them and like I have said before if you read posts I have made about delkims if they sort the teething problems I would go back to delkim as now digital the receiver issues I had should be resolved.If you look I put a smiling face it was a bit of a joke but you go **** over your little plastic boxes you sad ****

You will get the obvious responses from the people who have/haven't owned the new Delks and those that love to hate Fox and hate to love Delkim....
That aside I can only report my personal experiences. I have always preferred Delkim, (in theory) for the vibration sensing, to me, it is superior to the roller wheel.......BUT......(and there's always a but!) they have not been without their issues.....
I owned the Mk2 TXi's for years, never had a problem with water ingress or major performance issues in the rain, (apart from the odd false bleeps), what did annoy me however was the poor Receiver range and screeching interference if you were within a mile of any other electrical field.... ....the final straw for the alarms was sat at a lake 2 years ago on a social session with two other mates. We set up a central "base camp" on the peninsula we were fishing, none of us more than 50 yards away from our rods. Sat eating dinner one evening I had a single beep, (or should I say a screech) on one of my rods. Nothing else happened and I put it down to a liner or interference.....5 minutes later we had finished dinner and i decided to go and check the rod which was just out of sight from where we were behind a small tree....when I got there the rod was hooped over, the alarm head, (which was on silent) was blinking away, yet the receiver, which was still at the camp with my mates was silent. Yes the batteries were fresh and no it didn't do it again but that was enough, trust had gone. I landed the fish and was very lucky as there were some big old snags around.
After that I bought a set of NTXR's.......hated the size and looks but could not fault them in anyway, performed faultlessly, although it was like having lazer eye surgery every time you had a run... ....however, my heart still yearned for Delkims!
I then heard about the new TXID's and thought my prayers were answered! A mate had a set of MK2 TXi's and he wanted a swap so I went back to Delks for 5 months giving him my NTXR's as I eagerly awaited the launch of the new Delkims. This set of MK2 TXi's were fine, still screeching if the atmospherics were wrong but on the whole OK.
My set of new D's turned up a few weeks after the official launch and I was very pleased with the size and looks. A read through the instruction manual certainly confirmed that they were complicated but I set them up and tried them out. First time out was a blank on a quick overnighter, I did have a few liners and all appeared well......despite the annoying last activation blink on the receiver......(why?).....anyway onto the next session and I fished with another mate who had also got the new D's.....he was the guy who's receiver packed up in the sun and didn't switch back on for 30 minutes.....he was also the guy who had one alarm almost fill up with water after a downpour, but the other one was bone dry...? Mine were OK, until the following morning when I had a screaming “ghost run”......and eventually I had to bring that rod in as the head would not behave.
We were both absolutely gutted but had seen enough to put us off. He sold his and as I had only had mine 14 days I took mine back to the shop where they agreed to swap them for a set of Fox RX+......
The RX+ are just like the NTXR's, faultless, (so far) but I hate the size and looks and my heart still yearns for Delkims!

That LED flashing light is a strange thing for sure, forgot about it so when it flashed I thought the lads on the other side were having some night piccys, rang them on the walkies to no avail......
To be fair its not that bright and you just forget about it after half an hour.

I was hoping that too ... even contacted delkim at first thinking it was a fault after replacing the battery in alarm lol

It really isnt that noticeable that i would even worry about it. I wondered what it was when i first noticed it, but i only noticed it in the first place, as i was leaning my phone up against it while watching the football. Didnt wake me once in the night in a whole week, and didnt notice it after dark, its not really bright enough to project light anywhere it will be seen

Correct now I have got used to it after a month I don't notice it that much.
Sounds like they need to iron out a lot with the D's. Imo all that was needed was better components and a watertight case, explain to me this light? Is it like the 20 second latching led on the txi?

It's so you no they it is still on because there is no switch or any other way to visibly tell if it's still switch on, it's not constantly it's like once every 5 mins not really that big of a thing and you get used to it

agreed, if there is no visible way to see it is still on wouldnt you be messing with you alarms to check regularly or it actually turns off for whatever reason and you miss a bite, people will be moaning there wasnt such a feature to let them know it's still on no doubt.

Certainly not worth the upgrade in my opinion, I'll stick with my TXi,s though some nice features and perhaps worth considering if I was in the market for new alarms...
I'm still interested in grabbing a set in a few years time. I have 3 smart alarm devices that work with my current set of TXis and RXi and so it would be hard to justify. Especially as they won't have an updated version until early next year.

You already know, those fish dont care, they take the food, and go.If Delkims are a must, I would go for the entry level ones, the differences arent that major compared to the TXI, built in transmitter. If my txis died all at once I'd buy the new ones in a heart beat. But then I still use some mk1s on my day sessions that are 25ish years old. So around 10-12 fox models old.

Well pleased with mine, indication is spot on, miles better than my old foxes, been using them for perch fishing too with light lines and bobbins and there is no loss of indication.

There is a video on you tube,you use buttons one and three on the receiver.It will stay off but if you switch receiver off and back on it goes back to default mode.I don't think there is a way to turn it off permanently

i Don't think there are that many failures. Just people seeing the odd one and then going on about it due to past reputation. I've had different delkims since 1996 (3 different models) never had an issue and they were out in some torrents in France.

Seen very few complaints over social media about the new Dells..... personally I have heard of/experienced 3 separate issues...one water ingress, (turned out to be a cracked case) one of a receiver packing up when left in the sun and the other ghost runs.....on the whole they seem a huge improvement on the previous model.

All delkim indicators fit the new TXiD. if you use the arms for the hangers you can ditch the part that goes under alarm and use the new c clip to connect to front of the alarm.
Snag ears battery covers and quick release shoe accessory are different between the TXi and TXi D
The quick release feet that screw in the bank stick are the same.

I might be misunderstanding this cos my experience is all based on Delkim anglers I've fished near but I would have thought the alarms picks up vibration on the line and rain causes vibration. What's the difference between a fish and rain vibrating the line?

Bought a set when they came out last year for my barbel fishing and so far they have been faultless. I was a true delkim hater and used to slate them after having issues with the previous txi's in wet conditions but took the punt as the new fox alarms are huge hideous looking things and so far so good. They look much better in the flesh as i was a bit unsure of the looks when i first seen the photos of them.

Ive had both rx and now got the new delks, early days with the delkims so ts not a long winded review BUT I fished last weekend in the storms with my new delkims and didn't suffer any problems in the high winds and rain, the do not disturb feature is great to stop intermittent beeps in such conditions and the functionality is great on them add to the fact that they look so much better than the old ones and I think you have a winner.
To give some background I got rid of my old delkims and had NXT-r and then upgraded to the RX+ since release and cant say there was anything wrong with them and in my time I didn't have any issues but god they are ugly and feel plastic to the touch and given that Im a tart I don't think you can beat the sound of a Delkim.
In closing you won't go wrong with the RX I just like the newer slimmer Delkim that is packed with more features not that Ive adjusted them as yet from the standard settings

If you use the do not disturb function the receiver with not bleep unless you get a bite ie bleeps on the alarms do transmit unless you significant line movement? This resets after 15 minutes though ideal in hail storm

Tempted by these. In recent years had Fox NTX-r and the new RX+ but swapped to Nevs for the simplicty and after teething problems with the RX+ on an early batch. The Fox were excellent alarms otherwise and the Nevs work just fine.
Can any one using the new Delks and in particular if you have experience with Nevs tell me if there are any features that are really useful over the Nevs?
Only get false beeps on the Nevs in heavy gusts. Hate false beeps with a passion but haven't heard of anyone compaining about this on the new Delks.

You can set DND to be on continuously instead of just 15 mins by holding down PB2 and PB3 until you hear a beep. And yes, they'll only register a proper run when it's set.
I got a set this morning and I don't know what the fuss is about them being complicated. Yes, they have far more features than most alarms but it took less than 30 mins to set everything up from scratch, now I'm confident I can adjust most things on the bank without checking the instructions again.

to learn everything by heart, set and experiment/test the settings, try everything out that's possible, yes half an hour!!!!! but to be honest I think I played for 2 hours because I wanted to know all the possibilities and liked doing it.

30 mins is bugger all. Once you have them how you want them thats it switch them on them on then switch them off when you go home. Its hardly difficult. You dont have to anything if you dont want to, just leave them as factory settings and pair them to the receiver. Piece of @@@@

Your set them up to your liking, play around with the new settings. Then all your use is the sensitivity and volume. Like all the other alarms you've had.

I asked delkim and you can't use the attx dongles with the new evs.

Just done a 48hr session with the txi-d. It was pouring rain for most of it, and 40mph wind last night which made the lake look like the North Sea!. The alarms were spot on, I only had 1 bleep through the storm last night/this morning.The night mode with the slimlites looks sweet too. Shame I didn't catch but you can't have it all
I'm well happy with them and will sell my R3's now.

Edit read below see a couple have used them. Problem is if there's an issue you cant just take it back to the shop and swop it which i did a few years ago when i bought txi,s. One was faulty , took it back straight swop. I suppose you can send off to Delkim but them no alarm for a week.

it's crazy that Delkim are exporting alarms which are then being sold to UK customers undercutting UK retailers for import back into the UK. Don't for one second blame anyone buying them though

Yep shown as £400 at fishernator for set of 3 and receiver delivered. They have to be making a decent profit on that so UK selling at £550 a set is a huge mark up on top.

I got mine from fishernator and registered them direct with Delkim for the warranty, delkim have a great rep for customer service and so I have no doubt should you have issues then they will be more than willing to help

Mine were just over £470 once converted to pounds, plus you get a Delkim hard carry case which is £25 on its own. So still a £100 saving Worth keeping an eye on the exchange rate at the time though.

The left hand button started playing up on one of mine and kept sticking earlier this wk. I got in touch with them and sent it back on monday and they sent a brand new replacement which arrived today and also put in a delkim inulated mug. You cant ask anymore than that. Fantastic customer service.

That's up to you mate, to me it was a £100 saving as the price was just over £470 when converted, plus the case which is £25. Delkim registered the warranty no problem, and I don't have a local shop that stocks them anyway so it didn't make sense for me to order from the UK and pay £100 more. 👍🏻

The LEDs on the receiver are fixed however you can program each LED colour with up to 4 alarms that is to say the receiver can have a maximum of 24 alarms programs into it.

Had mine 9 months, zero issues and no problems using in wet conditions. Then again, I've owned every single version of the Delkim and even the first conversions were faultless. Deal? You won't find any. Delkim don't allow their authorised dealers to offer anything.

I've had a LED stay on until I removed battery and dried out. Also had a alarm head LED light up when switching on a battery charger. Not a deal breaker but not faultless.

I've had the same issue - after fishing in a torrential downpour, packed up & headed home. Checked the alarms as I put them away at the end of the session & even when switched off, one of the LEDs stayed on. Only managed to sort it having dried it in the airing cupboard for a couple of days......

the ev-d will not take any type of tramsmitter,the jack plug on the ev-d is just for the delkim hanger

Anyone had any issues with the receiver? Tried to add a 3rd alarm today and after resetting the pairing on the rx-d it refuses to pair with any of my alarms. Pretty annoying because it's only been used 3 times and I've got a couple of trips planned in the next few weeks. Have sent a message to delkim support so will see what they say, hopefully they've got a quick turn around if I need to send it back to them.
