All the incarnations since all came from that
Good shout. Where would we all be with out them. Still using coffin and barrel leads I suppose..ππ€
A lot to thank old Dickie Walker for, I think.
Not forgetting bite alarms. Wasn't he the brains behind the Heron antena bite alarms??π€

Just seen Scott Lloyds post on the Socials. Little Rich Curtis Captour of a lot of the history fish from the like of Yately, Wraysbury and Colnemere has passed away.
Remember reading about Little Richs exploits in early editions of Rob Maylins BC Mag. I know these guys were just anglers and weren't really rewriting history or leaving a massive mark on world
So Hero's is probably to strong a word. But in this small little world we inhabit and is all consuming. To me and a few others they were. My hero's are gradually dwindling. But that's life
An interesting little side note to his passing is that he made Scott promise that he would put his story out in the event of his passing. Story's like his are to good to be left untold. Do him proud Scott.
Rest easy Richie Curtis..

Quote: I have been using large pva sticks (35mm dia.) with heavy leads (5-8 oz.) on a lead clip due to the situation I
And your casting these outπ¬π―
You say a stick? Are you threading these up the hooklink burying the hook in the end. Or did you mean more PVA mesh bags? If so as mentioned leave a long tag on the bag. Tie this to the swivel on the hook link. Wrap it round the lead clip and tie of. Nick the hook into the end of the bag. This will hopefully stop the lead ejecting on impact.π

The origional one piece suits were designed for deep sea divers to be worn under there wetsuits.
Everyone knows someone who knows someone that's shat in the hood of there one piece suit..πππ€π

Quote: We also had Kevin to thank for the Rod Sling, with our nubrolli's inside the main compartment, with our rods on the side, etc.
You have to give it to him he has brought a lot to the market.
How did I forget the first to make a holdall to take made up rods with reels attached. An idea bought to him by Rodger Smith of Savay fame by all accounts.
Even the quilted one piece suits that were all the rage in the 90s. Was bought to market by Nashy. After seeing Rodger smiths one piece suit made out of an old sleeping bag..πππ

Quote: Didn't Nash also bring out the first lead clip?
Commercially yes, not his idea though. I believe they were first produced by a French tackle manufacturer as a way to change swimfeeders. That's how they were first marketed as a convenient way to change leads. It was only later that they realised they were a good way to drop the leads if needed..π

I'd say Kevin Nash. Love him or hate him. He's bought a lot of products to the market that everyone of us has owned at some point. If not his. Some other company's copy's.
Carp sacks and weigh slings. One or two others before, granted. But he bought them to the masses.
Unhooking matts. Can't think of anyone commercially producing these before.
Oval brolly. A brolly that actually covered your bed chair.
Titan bivvy. The first free standing shelter on the market.
Retractable rods. Lots of people laughed them of as gimmicky. Kids rods. Most other tackle company's and rod manufacturers now have a range.
Sleep systems. Fist bedchairs with attached sleeping bags. Also the first company to do away with the need to have your bed as a chair by removing the adjustable wheel. Which also lead to a more comfortable sleep.
No doubt a few more. That I can't remember of the top of my head.
They really have lead the way... long live Nashys innovation.

Obviously having commercial tie ins comes with limitations?
I'd image with his Carp academy platform. It pays not to have any bias. If your constantly plugging your tie ins. People are soon going to switch off.π
