Only fish I’ve ever seen move on ANY wind were wild ones on an unfished lake. Regardless of which direction, as long as it had a bit of a ripple on the water they would be in the margins of the windward bank. They also moved pretty instantly on a new wind.
Never seen it anywhere else, angling pressure plays a part in fish movement and behaviour. Plenty of times I’ve been on a big SW along with numerous others and the one angler who’s gone and fished the back of the wind has caught.
Pretty much you have to work out what the fish do on the lake you fish! That carp rule book? It don’t exist unless the fish are wild.

The shark tooth. The big round metal one doesn’t need replacing.

I bought one just before they discontinued them. It had one black line clip and one shark tooth. I replaced with a spring loaded one from south west customs. Line clip was a tenner and took a minute to swap out.

This fish got caught loads but often never publicised. It was doing once a week on the bank this summer pretty much. Sometimes twice in a few days!
Writing was on the wall.
On the glugged baits things, I put stuff in mine. Hydros and natural liquids. They’d work out the bag but I like to add a couple of things to enhance them. Putting glycerine based liquids is not ideal, even heavy oils that lock the baits up. Can’t see this being down to bait though, just sheer angling pressure and stress.

I use the reverse of this. Stiff hook section. Putty on the knot for sure.

The AKAC/Cotswold Water Trust have an email to join the waiting list I thought? May be old but I’m sure my friend told me it’s on the website.

It was around 6/7yrs ago. It was a bank holiday weekend but nearly every swim was taken. Maybe just a busy period. Defo a rock hard pit that’s for sure!
May be worth getting your name down on a waiting list. All of those lakes are lovely!

Not answering your question but I have a friend that fishes that neck of the woods, mainly whitefriars on the SC ticket. I joined him for a night and it was rammed, nearly every swim taken!
We did a tour of a load of other waters the following day.
Neigh bridge, lake 32 and the one just North of it with the inflatables on and one across the road Cokes pit (lake 34)
Might be worth a look at those?

I’ve only found one thing that slows them down and it’s Brazil nuts. I can imagine it’s only due to the shape and size being awkward for them to actually eat and hook themselves. I have still caught bream on them but it was drastically less than any other hookbait.
I’ve found once they get going and feeding hard you’ll never stop them. I was using 4inch pop ups, 18mm double pop up and still catching 5 pounders on a park lake years ago. Size 4 hook as well. If they didn’t hook themselves they were throwing me off the spot in to weed and I’d have to recast anyway.
You’ve either got to feed them off, which is near impossible, or use hardly any free offerings and make them big or awkward baits. A handful of 20/22mm boilies, XXL tigers and halved Brazil nuts (check buoyancy first)

Agree with this. I love mine. I never use the front rib but I’ve never found I’ve needed it. Front panel zips on in seconds if I ever bother putting it on. Really good bit of kit and would highly recommend!!
I’m sure the new version will be just as good.
