Heard the same but was also told the launch has been shelved as they felt the market would be very small due to the price being considerably more than the Hi's rods.

It's not just fresh water market though, one of the biggest shops in the sea fishing market started doing it last year. Another problem is the three months interest free credit encourages people useless with their finances to buy what they really can't afford as I know someone who bought three rods at £1500 on three months interest free only to be made redundant two weeks later and sold them on used once for a grand so he could pay the mortgage.

Century make other stuff besides rods as well and export a lot to the states which has become a huge market for them as well as now owning the zziplex brand.

One thing I will add though is that none of my jumpers are as warm to wear as the korda thermal jacket I have. If the weather is really cold then I nearly always wear a lond sleeve zip neck merino wool base layer anyway.

What some find bling others may not, I'm actually a bit of a ungrounded fan as I like how it looks and feels and believe it contributes to strength.

Only expensive if you don't get the use out of it though, I've got lots of jumpers from cheap weird fish to Gansey and many in between from Barbour and Rohan. Some of mine are probably near on twenty years old same as some of my shoes but like I say if you get the use out of them they're not expensive in the long term. No good of course if your the type of person that has to have new stuff all the time.

Opinions are like ##@#** as they say, we all have them and like wise all want certain things from a rod, finding the perfect fit for you is the tricky bit. Of course it helps if you know exactly what you want from the rod and how you are going to use it but I still think it's disappointing that you can't try before you buy unless you know someone with to he rod your interested in or are on very good terms with a shop that is willing to let you try one.

Take a look at divers dry bags, loads of manufacturers make them in all sorts of shapes and sizes from dirt cheap to silly expensive.

For the rods you mention it's personal taste but I would for 6 to 8000 size and although you probably don't need it I would go for the salt water versions as you could always do a few sessions light beach fishing and bass fishing, you would have great sport catching smooth hounds on those rods , just give them a good wash down in fresh water afterwards.
