It's the freshly tickled juice from an Essex virgin, obviously being Essex they could only find the one so there's only one very small bottle and Nash'y is keeping it for himself.

Nah I reckon it's his Baitroom hookbait booster that he got “free” with his £45 pop ups that he now doesn't have to admit using due to the lack of availability and eBay price point 🤣

Hypothese? I was told by a Dutch fish farmer who admittedly didn't fish, the right amount of it will draw fish in. Too much and they start shagging. Nothing was mentioned about if it affects males more than females

What is it ?!?

• Not used within carp fishing
• Not associated with carp fishing
• Not in the fishing market
• Things you can do to your mix to make things better (salt on food for it to taste better?)
• Makes carp feed better
• Stuff that's used that's not known about in carp fishing
• Got to know how to mix it together
• It's readily available
• 50 items on a list this would be the last thing you'd think it was
• When you learn how things work it makes sense (cooking, adding things to make it taste better?)
• Knocked up everything the same (a few things maybe?)
• Good in shallow water
• Deeper water it will dispense more so not as concentrated
• Things you can do to get fish to eat
• Shallow water use a liquid to get fish to feed
• Deep water is challenging
• When to put it in and how much to use
• Get the wrong mix so couldn't get them to feed
• ESP footage carp off the back of the spot, they went into the spot and turned around as it was wrong.

Still cant figure out what it is lol

I would love to know, Tom Maker, those two blokes that won the carp competition Rob Burgess etc.. They are all smashing it, doesn't seem to matter what swim, the fish just seem to go mad for it. I know they all use loads of chopped worms but I think it's more than that..

Ive fished with Rob a lot over the years and believe me its just good angling no wonder bait or rig. The thing that sets these boys apart on hungry waters is their ability to fish super accurately even at long range in my opinion. Not many anglers can fish at 100 yards and drop every spod on a sixpence time after time.

Would he give it away if its doing so well for them? Seems to be a pretty good edge, one guy would go into a peg get maybe 4 or 5 then these guys are going in and hitting 20/30 fish! Mental!

Of course it is. They fish lakes with big packs of fish. Your guy who caught 4 fish hadn't t narrowed down his spot, and wasted time between fish.

The likes of tom maker as soon as the fish is in the net, a fresh rig is back on the exact spot with 3 spombs exactly over the top, in the same amount of time your guy with the 4 fish was struggling to put his waders on so he could get the net oit of the water easier.

Its match style fishing, truly exhausting, like the likes of bob nudd catapulting out pellets whilst still playing a fish on the pole to keep the pack there, never a second wasted.

I just used that as an example between the average guy and the big hitters. I do agree some people become lazy when hitting big fish numbers but we all aim to be accurate and consistent but that doesn't mean the difference between 4 fish and 40 IMO.

Have you seen the underwater article he did 3 rods less than 10 inches between them on the bottom if you can get your feed tight over the top that will increase your catch rate as you have them competing on a much smaller area making them easier to catch. In term of liquid he uses I would guess liquidised worm

I saw it at Farlows recently, the owner and the two that won the carp competition had 40 fish using their bait boat from swim 3...
Then 2 people using a bait boat and dropping bait in exactly the same spot moved in... They had 1 fish in 2 days..
It does make you wonder.. :0)

Not really.

You cant just move into a swim after someone else has bagged up and expect to do the same.

Look at what tom Maker does, he will have a big hit of fish from a swim, and when it slows up, will follow the fish round the lake.

If you think its anything other than hard work and experience, im afraid you'll always be searching for that magic pill that doesnt exist.

I wouldn't say a wonder bait but I reckon there are things out there that fish will respond too to eat or turn them on to feed? Iff 100 people are doing the same thing and they are changing it up slightly by adding something into the mix?

You don't think vets use appetite stimulators...hmm interesting, so you wouldn't believe in non prescription, amino acid based formulations for just that purpose? We have a bottle of it in our fridge which is used for our IBD suffering pooch when nearly everything else fails.

There are several such amino acid-rich liquids on sale in the UK, many are widely available over the counters of most chemists...

Minamino
Phosphorlycolamine

...are just a couple. They are unlikely to be anyone's 'secret' as they have been widely used in carp fishing for the past thirty or forty years.

I put great importance on the vitamin content of my fresh bait and there are a couple of excellent vitamin rich liquids that I use...

Floradix
Minardex Multivitamin Liquid (not to be confused with Minardex Tonic, which is now discontinued).

... these are available online or in some chemists.

Of course you can, can be heavier handed too, it's going to get diluted a lot. Also used as a neat glue/bait sprays, particles, method mixes, the worlds your Oyster really. As said been around for yonks, very popular in the 90's, seem to have fallen out of favour for hydros as of late.

Just going back to the 'big hit' theme, I've never 'got' this attitude towards our chosen hobby. At some point, the buzz of outwitting a carp must have diminished to such a low level that as soon as the whole reason for doing this (and spending thousands of pounds of hard earned money in the process) is in the net, these guys are mentally now focused on catching another one, (and repeat), the carp just caught that is held in the net has become a meaningless creature, and now is purely a statistic. Is this not a bit sad? You go through all of the processes required to catch a carp, and when you do you are more keen to dick about trying to get another one without enjoying the moment.. It must be a highly diminished level of satisfaction, so in real terms these guys are not the best anglers at all, as they are not truly appreciating their surroundings and achievements. Maybe it is a topic for a separate thread..

Or, who would you rather go for a pint with from the below list:
Tom Maker
Kevin Hewitt
Mark Bartlett
Chris Yates

Sorry, back to Kev's wonder juice now..

That's a ridiculous post imo mate. You're saying you don't 'get' his attitude of trying to catch lots of carp?
Just because he catches loads doesn't mean he doesn't appreciate each one. He wouldn't be there if he didn't appreciate the surroundings and the achievement.
He's one of the best anglers in the country and catches a lot of fish. Give the man some credit.
What's he supposed to do? Try and catch less?
Of course if this hormone BS turns out to be true I'll take all this back

Not ridiculous at all Yonny, think about it, who remembers most vividly their first decent capture, and who remembers their first bag?
Gone are the days of not even thinking of putting the rods back out after landing a forty pound carp due to taking it all in, bathing in the fresh memories and smells of it all, maybe with a few pals present on the bank, copious cups of tea etc.. Like I said, society has changed to the point where people are no longer satisfied with a single brilliant achievement..

I'm pretty sure he will remember his first biggun as much as anyone. And getting the rod back out after a fish regardless of size is not that stupid imo. As for tea, I dont consider that a measure of ones appreciation for fishing.

You are completely missing the point mate, everybody remembers their first big catch, who remembers there first 'big hit' with the same sentimentality? Seems you fit into the category that I don't get which is fine, no problem, don't take it as a personal attack as it is not meant to be..

Completely agree. Hand on heart if I caught that many fish of that size I would genuinely get bored, where's the challenge!? I'm also fishing one of the waters that's getting rinsed by the few and know it's causing some bad feeling amongst us 'average' anglers. Biggest smile I've had this year, is from my first carp from a rock hard lake. Fished weighed 5lb and put a massive smile on my face.

I think people believe it's just the few anglers who have been named who are using this stuff, they are just the ones who want or need the publicity from catching continually. Any angler who has been involved with the carp march fishing scene will know this product exists and you can bet your last pound that at least some of them have taken it back to their regular waters.

Problem is I don't think the water owners care, it's good publicity for their waters of people are seen catching lots of fish, however they are doing it. Money talks I'm afraid.

thank heavens that still exists. I can think of nothing worse really than having a 40 in the net and my first thought being "must get the rod out......". To me it's everything that's gone wrong with carp fishing over the last 30 years.

not questioning Kev Hewitt at all, sure he's a perfectly nice chap and clearly a very good anglers, but I totally agree that why are we bothering even going if you don't get a chance to marvel at a truly amazing fish in your net - most anglers I know would be too shaken by the event to just carry on fishing, they'ld want a fag and a brew to get their heads together.

horses for courses I guess, just find it all a bit sad.

Thanks guys, I'm glad it's not only me feeling that a big one in the net is mission accomplished and time to simply chill, I know only too well that on some waters one bite is many months fishing so that feeling is very much enhanced, the thought of a chance of another one is irrelevant in that situation. Maybe some (many) have not experienced this side of angling thus far though I hope one day they do as it is well beyond a numbers game.

Btw, I'm in no way bashing Kev or any of the others that do well, from what I know they are decent guys that excel at their hobby probably with or without any secret edge..

If you've waited weeks for a fish and suddenly their having it. You would be a fool not to get the rod back out asap. Unless you know recasting would spook the fish off your remaining rods.

Certainly not DMPT. Been around for years and it's effectiveness is open to debate. Concentrations that could draw fish in from range would be counter productive at the area it was introduced.
