Has anyone else mentioned how it took the weather to change before they caught?
Heavy baiting in the spring is such a gamble and won't often pay off.
And of course dovey will come in and catch one on a bright loaded pop up......cos it's a mega tactic in spring!
I'm guessing that's part 2 😉

I was really surprised by this today as I know they had invested heavily in recent years.
I'm sure that all of the truth as to why it's closing will all come out one day but it just shows you that bait making on an industrial scale is a gamble.
Nash once had the whole bait trade in its pocket. I always had a little insight into its workings and it blew me away how vast the whole set up was. They also had one or two incredible things in the range.
We as anglers are changing and how we shop is now changing bait companies fortunes.
There will always be people who rise and fall in the fishing world and tackle shops are falling fast!
One of my good mates has put his heart and soul into Nash and i hope that he starts again.

I catch a huge amount of carp In summer on Wafters.
The key is making your hooklink heavy
So just the wafter and hook is weightless
It really is that simple

Yeah everything that is white, comes from titanium dioxide! No longer allowed in feeds hence why nash citrus is natural.

White baits are going to be banned
Not sure when it's happening or if it's happened yet.
Hookbaits will be fine though

A good bait in both forms is still a good bait
As a man who only ever used freezer bait in the past I would never think to buy a shelf life.
But over the years I have had to use our shelf life's when I'm fishing the far side of Europe and beyond and it's opened my eyes to how good they can be.
I have seen some good anglers swap to shelf life in recent years and none of them have seen a demise in results.
But........why oh why can't anglers just make a tiny bit more effort, make a bit more room
In the freezer and remove any doubts and use freezer baits? I think that technically a freezer bait works faster, is softer, retains moisture. It will let bacteria grow and it will turn quickly if you have nice things in the basemix and use eggs. It's no surprise some of the best baits out there turn white very quickly! The amount of people that ring me up happy when the bait starts turning after 3 days is a sign that many people have forgotten about proper fresh bait!
So for the U.K. I'd say fresh bait. For travels beyond and if your lifestyle doesn't allow it then use a good shelf life!

I get asked this a lot!
A feed boilie, I have seen a few over the years and most are pretty poor and still 2-4 quid a kilo. They probably won't hit 25 percent protein either.
I have a pellet that is 45 percent protein and although expensive for a pellet they are still cheaper than the cheap boilie
The only time a feed boilie is a necessity is when other species are a problem and they eat all your other feed items.
I have been asked this year to produce one for that exact reason. The lakes are full of 4-8oz roach that consume everything so the owners wanted 20mm feed baits.
It can be done I'm sure and one day I'll have a proper go at it.

Affordable.........a word often used for bait.
Today I saw a post offering a companies brand new bait at a reduced rate compared to its launch price that it was only a few weeks ago.
I guess that they can only sell bait cheap as that's the path that they have chosen.
Never heard anyone say anything good about it (haven't seen it either so I'm not going to judge) but the point I'm getting at is that it's cheap. Cheap to make, always in a deal and yet nobody is jumping up to tell us it's changed their angling.
If you want to save money, then buy 5 kilos not ten but don't ever compromise on buying the better baits with a good proven track record. Plenty of good baits out there but 100 times more cheap ones!!
The bait or hookbaits is the one thing I won't ever put a price cap on as what's the point in going angling with bait that they will just swim past?

Are you sure?
