I’ve had the solar brolly for getting on 3 years now, nice bit of kit, reasonably lightweight, decent coverage without the front, I do like the fact you can leave the front storm poles attached, this makes erection much quicker. I’m currently using a JRC Cocoon II wide bed, 8 leg (220 x 100cm)and although it obviously touches at the rear corners it still leaves a decent amount of room and cover at the front

It's well made, sturdy enough with quality zips, as mentioned previously I like the fact that the barrow weight is front forward so suits my application

I've the smaller version but only use it for cook gear and food , works well especially as it's heavy and over the front wheel of the barrow, making the push that bit easier.
They come with a good few dividers so plenty of options.
Personally for tackle I think you'd end up using smaller bags, cases etc to separate gear adding extra weight and complexity

Can anyone recommend a bag to fit a FoxTransporter wheels and axle/forks?
I normally just chuck it the back of the car but a upcoming new vehicle as me looking at options... seen the Solar and CA versions but not sure if they'll fit and not really wanting to spend that much to be honest!! Any suggestions welcome

I got a couple from Amazon, around £8 each. Cut the crimp off the old stove, the new ones came with thread at the stove end, cut this off with side cutters, add a short length of shrink tube to stop the wires catching etc. I then used some 1/4” Double ear O ring clamps and crimped these over the stove inlet. Worked a treat

You need to get some tungsten anti tangle sleeves, the type that are about 40 mm long and taper away to almost nothing, I've used Terminal Tackle UK's versions and some from Mark one developments on eBay, Cut the hook end one about 15mm long from pointed end and at the swivel end around 20/25 mm long, they must be added to the boom prior to crimping etc I've been doing this for the last 3 years, very neat and adds weight to the boom too

Thread: Fuji 18DPS Black reel seat info
12 Jun 2025

Hi Just some info regarding replacing chipped or worn Fuji black DPS reel seat collars, my previous rods had black reel seats and never chipped etc so when I had my latest set built I went for the same despite the rod builder warning me that they may show wear etc.. and they did almost instantly!!
Marker pen never worked so I looked at replacing them, thankfully I found that the Tackle Box supply a SeaGuide reel seat replacement set for £3.99. With a bit of masking off and the gentle use of a dremel grinding disc the front metal collar can be cut through and prized off etc and the new seat slides down and using a reel stem and rear screw seat, it seats perfectly.
Obviously this will only work for rods with shrink wrap or slim duplon, and you are able to remove the screwed reel seat collar.
Hope this may help

I bought one going on the images online, when it arrived it's basically just a camo day sack, no padding, no 2 way zips etc To be fair it did feel comfy on the back but did 2 sessions and has been relegated to the back of the cupboard
