Need to get a new pair of trainers/shoes for the new season and just wondering what people use?
Did have a battered old pair of adidas Stan smiths which did the job as they were leather, but have finally split after several years..

I think most people, myself included, just wear old trainers that have past their time for trips out and down the pub

I like gortex trainers as was fed up with getting soaking wet feet when the grass was damp. The adidas terrex are good and now got pair of reebok gortex trainers which are nice too

I go in Crocs in the summer, they are good because they're nice and easy to get on when you have a take in the night.

My Meindl Mens Magic 2.0 GTX (Goretex) have given up the ghost after 20yrs of abuse . . . have literally just ordered a pair of Clarkes ATL Trek Lo Goretex in carpy olive green - will let you know if they live up to the Meindls!
Goretex worth the investment as they're waterpoof / warmish in the autumn and cool in the summer . . .

Don't understand people still wearing inadequate footwear on the Bank. When there's plentry of dedicated outdoor footwear out there for all seasons.. its not the 90'S you know, when we had little choice.. 
For what it's worth I wear Adidas Terrex gtx after a recommendation on here. Also heard good things about Merrel footwear aswell.

I got a pair of karrimor Bodmin ,weather tight trainers, they also good for pulling the tongue right back under the laces ,for quick slip on...and a short pair of Pavers,which have good grip...those short welly ,Pavers ,are brilliant ,better than Muck boots..etc and cheaper

Green nike air max 90s because they are carpy and have to listen to drumb n base
I have some nike pegasus goretex in green, brasher/berghaus Hillmaster boots, crocs or northface nuptse slippers for in the bivvy
Adidas terrex, money well spent
I've said this on here before,others have said they're great but my adidas terrex were the worse things I've ever bought grip completely worn out in a short period of time 4 -6 weeks,,cushioning inside the heel ripped and started to cause blisters on the heel and on the front where the foot bends the material had a hole in....send them back to adidas for a refund

My old trainers are adequate for walking miles, going to work, standing in a pub, going to the shops, maybe a little run if i fancied it, not that i do. How are they inadequate for a bit of fishing?

Had mine 3 years now, vv little sign of wear, still look great, so many great reviews of these, you've definitely been unlucky there, v strange.

Used Merrels for a long time, spot on for me 
Bought some Salomon something like ultra 4s version, fit like a slipper, dropping to bits within 6 months

Never worn trainers for fishing. Why would you? They're not waterproof for starters. Get some walking boots. Geez, carp anglers!

Clarkes ATL Trek Lo Goretex (Dark Olive) have arrived - fit to size (unlike sizing up for most trainers) - v comfy and grip looks decent - not used in anger yet but for £85 (normally £115) impressed!

For getting up in the night and slipping something on my feet, a simple pair of trainers are good enough.
If I'm sat around during the day then trainers are perfect.
My trainers are comfortable enough for me to walk/limp around the swim in.
If I'm going to walk around the lake I can put my Nitehawk boots on, but I'm not necessarily going to sit around in them all day.

I like a six inch heel in the warmer dryer months it helps with the floater fishing putting me at 6'2" I get a better vantage point for spotting them drifting about.
Just wish i could find them in real tree.

Keen Targhee 3 have been good for me so far dog walking & fishing, 3 pairs of Salomon started to fall apart, they were comfortable and Reebok Ridgerider Gortex are really comfy.

Ridge monkey shoes(like the climbers use)ideal for summer use early autumn maybe and I can also sleep in the bag with them on,then kerrimore from anglers direct had them for few t years now just keep them waterproofed as possible

have a look look at the north face TRACTION mules i use them in the winter and summer,
very warm, water resistant and mega comfy. ali hamidi is just about to do an identical copy.

I use walking boots if just visiting a lake or to bait up. Fishing like wellingtons in winter and ridgemonkey shoes in summer. Also use the ridgemonkey at night especially if wet as their grip is brilliant

I have banged on about the traction mules for years on here and in the depth of twinter the nuptse boots brilliant purpose made fishing slippers and the traction ones have the grip so you dont slide all over the shop (I always have a pair in my bivvy ready to go)

Some of you got me worried me about my Adidas Terrex GTX. So I can blame you for this. Plus I am now a Joey, who just buys shiny things to remember what it's like to go fishing.

Merrel gortex mostly, but I also have a pair of North Face Hedgehog mid boots if it's more sloppy and I don't want to wear wellies. Then I've just this week bought a pair of crocs for easy put on, for those in the dark sleeping bag exit rush jobs, but I'm liking them so much they've hardly been off my feet!..... I thought that made me an old fart, but apparently they're fashionable again - me having a pair is much to the disgust of my teenage son, because I'm 'ruining them' for him🤣

These are / were on offer with a code from Nike recently..I also did a magpie and ordered but managed to resist. I already have 4 pairs of gore Tex trainers and God knows how many other pairs....... Now struggling to resist again

I use my green and white Adidas ZX750's during the summer and for driving to/from the lake. Got some Berghaus Goretex boots when it's a bit damp and Hunter zip wellies when it's really wet. Navitas or Diem slip ons for night time manoeuvres.

Thanks, I did not know about the code. 😂 It was that Korda bloke Gary Newmans fault really and I told him so. He put these horrible green 90 GTX up on Faceache last week. I'm a sucker so got some nicer ones 😂
You just made me look. Six pairs of GTX trainers at home now is a joke. Plus two pairs of GTX walking boots. UK made Brashers, Skarpas... Two Merrell Moab, two Salomon, Adidas Terrex and now those Nike. All are watertight. I'm having a clear out right now!
One pair of Moab I use for cutting the grass. Other pair are from the bottom of the fishing cupboard and are going in the charity bin! Salomons were dog walkers when raining, both are going in charity bin! Brashers are going in charity bin!
Don't mention normal trainers. There might actually be something far more seriously wrong with me regarding those I think 😂
