I guess first question would be what are they being used for?

If just to deal with fish in the margins and you’re not going to have them on for long, then I wouldn’t overthink it

I have Vass 650s and other than being a little awkward to get on with the full length boot, I can’t really fault them for what I need them for

I use the thinking anglers stuff

I always use a short length of leadcore. I don’t like how the stems stick up and I’ve had one tangle in the net while I’ve had a fish waiting to be unhooked and weighed etc..

I have been using the “slip d combi multi Darrell peck wonder rig” almost exclusively for 3 years and my catch rate on my syndi has never been better. Mainly wafters or bottom baits but also the occasional pop up. I’ve had many boat battles and fishing stuck in thick weed and never had any issues with materials snapping or letting me down.

If I’m fishing somewhere slightly softer or at risk of landing in blanket weed etc, I use the ESP tungsten loaded straight through with a double loop in each end and one of them stripped back to the inner core

90% of the time I’m on clear ground or in the edge and for that I use the Korda XT snag leader tied with an albright to thinking anglers duo fleck braid. A small blob of putty about 2 inches from the lead and then a lump on the knot means it always lands how you want and the braid has just enough stiffness to stop tangles

Can’t recommend it enough

I have two of the sonik vader x two piece nets and I can’t fault them

Deep mesh
Easy to use spreader block that I never have issues with
Two piece handle that’s stiff and doesn’t bend when trying to net a fish
£50

I’ve been using the shimano tx2 in 10ft for about 3 years. Can’t fault them for the money.

Think I got a set of 3 for under 270

Hi all,

Has anyone fished this place recently? Going on a family trip this weekend coming and hoping to spend a few afternoons fishing.

A few people have never angled before so which lake is best for a few bites?

Since my partner and I moved into our own place, my fishing gear has lived in a shed at my parents as we didn't really have the room to store it here. My parents have selfishly decided to downsize and move away and I now need a way to store my gear..

We have a parking port underneath the duplex that we own, but space will be tight with the car also parked in there.

Can anyone recommend some good, sturdy, animal proof storage units that we could fit in the parking port? Ideally they need to be 6/7ft tall to accommodate my rods but no deeper than 1.5 metres as we can't have the car poking out too far

Rats are a bit of an issue as we aren't close to the bin area, so it needs to be secure

Thanks

I've tinkered with a few different styles, but mainly use a size 6 hand sharpened mugga or a thinking anglers curve point

Second this. I have been using this pretty much exclusively for the last few years and to great effect. Wafters and pop ups the main two but I wouldn't hesitate to use a bottom bait.
Are you sure?
