Im still using a Wychwood sleeping bag I bought in the early nineties. 30+ years and still going strong… i admit to recently looking at alternates though as it’s not as warm as once was now it’s missing the removable fleece liners. It was top end gear at the time, over £100 and real extravagance then!
I’ve still got mk1 armalites with aero bait runners from the same era, but they don’t get used much, more for a bit of piking on the winter

Not in the winter yet, but this year I’ve been on a deep (50ft) very weedy water. Like you I’ve never fished anywhere that deep before, so it took a while to get my head around it. Most fish I’ve caught have been in 12-16ft a few rod lengths out, with suitable rigs to cope with the weed. The deepest fish I had was 25ft.

I find solar gear hit and miss, the undercover brolly is great for day sessions, but mine does suffer from the sticky boss issue, I also have an undercover hold-all, not impressed with quality or design, but guess the SP may be different.

I got some 3.5 Hi S last week, and used them for the first time this weekend, and I’m well impressed. Like you I was a tad worried they might be over the top, but had a hard fighting 20+ at 45 yards, the rod had a nice action and at no point did it feel too stiff

Cheers, that helps. Found the part I need at Jim’s, to replace the faded bit!

Picked up a set of HI S 3.5 today, they seem to have a nice bend/action to them. Definitely somewhere between the other 2 sets (which are now gone) so exactly what I wanted

Has anyone got a link to the parts diagram, I’ve seen one online before but can’t find it now….
