I think the Dry Robe style design coats (plenty of brands to choose from) are perfect for fishing. I have since found a non-thermal version which is also perfect for warmer temps!

There's a FB page called Dry Robe ****ers, I guess there was a legitimate reason for this 🤷
What's wrong with being cocooned in highly flammable polyester just to walk your dog in bang average British weather.
Seen a few wearers about, reminds me of the Hungry Catapilla.

A passing phase for the great unwashed like the word "cheeky" added to a Nandos order or spend down the tackle shop that the social security money means they shouldn't really be spending but it makes them inclusive, that's where we are in a Mark Pitchers world.

On a serious note I can see the benefit for outdoor swimmers or pursuits, fishing is on the borderline but I can see it now, dry robe, gayer the better, beanie hat and hoodie combo sporting around most lakes WTF
Probably ideal for chucking on and landing a fish when it's pissing it down...

Couldn't agree . Great for slipping on when on the bank and it's tipping it down . Quick way to warm up and stay dry . Perfect to keep in the motor if the weather turns cold and wet or you need to get out of your wet clothes .

Dry Robes worn by Lazy Mums on the school run. Generally running late.Slung over the PJ''s with obligatory Ugg boots to complete the look. 
I need to find a black one with a white front so I can Bop around looking like a fat penguin 
must admit to owning one (Camo obviously!). Present from my kids after seeing them on holiday surfing (them not me). Must admit - sits in car and if raining and cold its a godsend. Completely dry clothes getting back into Bivvy and easy on / off over anything. If it had KarpKape on the back I'm sure plenty would change their minds.
Just got back from the Essex carp show. Plenty of these dry Robes on show. Grown men walking round in them seems to be the new carp attire. There was even a stand selling just these dry Robes..

I bought one of the Catchdry versions.
To be honest it's absolutely perfect for what I bought it for. A big plus is that because I'm slightly shorter than the average midget, I stay totally dry from head to toe when wearing my wellies.

To be honest these seem like a great idea, keeps all of you dry rather than your legs getting wet if you just sling a coat on and ideal if you're sitting out in rain or just under a brolly rather than having the luxury of a bivvy. Would be ideal for dog walking and fishing, just a green one for me though as I don't really do camo.

I can see the point of the original design purpose. To allow changing from wet swimming clothes into dry everyday clothes, in a public space. Other than that there are probably better existing options. I can see a use if trotting on a river where you have to stand in the open in all sorts of weather. For everyday carping I wouldn't buy one personally.

I had a chat with the owner of Catchdry this afternoon and they're going to be bringing out an unlined version, which will be perfect for when it's peeing down but not cold.
I own one purchase for when I'm surfing/swimming when we go to Cornwall each year but my question is who on here wears

Ok it didn't keep him warm but when it rained my mate donned one of those plastic ponchos they sell when it rains at Thorpe Park.

I bought a poncho last year off amazon, basically the exact same as the Nash one but with a different pattern. Perfect for summer rain, can be used to cover the barrow (or boat in my case) when getting to a peg and even has eyes on it so you can peg out for a quick shelter with some storm poles.

nope, they really are not the same! .... a poncho is slip over head, dont cover arms fully and float about the body (unless belted). These are zip front, have full sleeves and are slimmer fitting.

I have a dry robe so do the kids and mrs - We use ours mainly when we are camping or at a festival or at the beach - trips to and from the shower or getting changed they are idylic and do the job very well - or if out for long periods in the rain (Festival) they work and are low maintenance - Essentially they are great at what they are meant for - too big and bulky for me to use in my fishing but in the right environment they are great !!!
