Whats the recommendations on best allround waterproof boots for wearing to the swim setting up so lots of walking getting hot and sweaty so need to be breatheable and flexible but also want them warm for winter, Autumn - Spring. I swap over to wellies with thermal liners once I get to the swim if its really cold. Also put wellies on without the liners if I'm in a swim that requires wading to land fish.
Looking to spend 70quid max really maybe more if it's worth doing. Don't really want to buy fishing branded as they're mostly rubbish lol although the prologic boots look half decent. I have the fox ones in mid and full length and both have fallen apart.

Have a look at the Grisport range of walking boots. They are good quality, most of them are italian made and not silly money. I have the Quattros that I use for my fishing and also have other safety boots from them that I use on site. Both are good. Bit more than you have said, but for 100 quid you will have a good pair of boots.

Same as....I take a spare pair of socks for putting on at night...

Army surplus for me. Got a pair of Altberg Defenders at the beginning of the year, they're full leather, have been totally waterproof, comfortable and seem indestructible. Bought as Grade1 for £50 but they were in such good nick I'm not sure if they'd actually been worn.

I bought muck boots a couple of years ago but they made my feet sweat really bad, they were proper expensive ones as well. They have been resigned to the garage now.
Will take a look at the other suggestions

got some nice brasher boots in go outdoors, ive not worn the exact pair that they sell but i do have brashers and they have lasted at least 8 years so far. Nice sensible boot. The ones i saw are called country walker boots 79 quid. Looks like they might work within your budget.

They are warm, but tbh I've not worn them in real depths of winter fishing as I am not fishing in those conditions. I've worn them in snow walking thought and they've been great. Coupled with nice merino wool socks I think they're hard to beat really.

Had my brasher gtx over ten yrs.
Fully waterproof still but not the warmest.
Decent pair of socks and you dont even know your wearing them.
Be gutted when these are no more.

Been wearing Haix British Army Cold & Wet Weather leather army boots the last 5 or 6 years. Warm enough for me and totally waterproof. Grade 1 surplus and looked unworn to me.

I had a pair of Brasher GTX for eight years as well. They were pukka, British made, real quality. Lasted really well. Absolute quality company.
After Chris Brasher's death, the company was sold to Sports Direct. These previously excellent boots, are now absolute cack. I've seen through a friend just how bad these SD Brasher's are... His literally fell to bits after two winter sessions. I've heard so many other horror stories too.
Do not buy them unless you want to cry. They are simply not what they used to be.
Skarpa GTX are the gold standard modern day equivalent walking boots IMO, for walking to and from swim. Quality Gor-Tex boots, but unless in the sale they are around £120. Baffin Trappers once set up.
If you can return those Brasher boots you have not worn, you should do so honestly.

Recently bought Salomon X ultra shoes but Salomon were bought by Adidas some years ago but then sold on to a Chinese company ,not sure how good they are now and was going to buy the boot version for winter but went for Scarpa instead on black Friday deal.time will tell which are better long term.

I have rang them 4 times in the past week and again today.

I have since bought some Fortis elements wellies for once set up and some Haix high liability boots for getting round lake and set up etc. I'm still waiting for them to arrive. Fishing this weekend so will certainly get a good test!

I phoned Sammie today to confirm my cancellation email I sent yesterday and she said she hadn't looked at emails but will sort the cancellation tomorrow. No mention of having found stock.
I went with some winter hiking boots from mountain warehouse while discounted and a further 20% off. Probably not as good but I'll only wear them rarely so not too fussed.
I had looked at the elements but decided I don't really like the wellie type boot style.

I believe the brand is now owned by Berghaus and people say the quality is not the same? Think they were made in Portugal originally or the leather was.
If people are insistent on boots, Scarpa are quality, Miendle too, had some air revolutions for around 10 years before the soles came away. If you want a bargain British army Altbergs can be found on EBay. I bought some custom made ones earlier this, the quality and leather is absolutely superb as is the boot

Shame brasher have gone down hill. Ive had a pair of leather lined hillmasters for 20 years and there still going strong, mine are made in Portugal.

There are lots of quality outdoor cold weather brands available but I would avoid the big chain store retailers now and look at the high end shooting and feild sports specialist shops.

Same. Well, mine are about 15 years. Leather lined
Super comfy. They did scuff to buggery immediatly.but apparently that was common. Don't get much use to and from my swim so will outlast me I'm sure.

I'm a dog walker by profession and have gone through probably 6 pairs of boots in the 4 years I've been walking.
Solomon, north face, brasher, Muck boots, boots costing £100-150+ all fallen apart some in just a few months.
Even some scarpa trainers didn't last me a whole summer but on a different pair of scarpa now that seem to be holding up.
Maybe 1.5 years ago I got some Hanwag boots and although expensive are in a totally different league to all the others I've had before. So much more comfortable to wear for hours on end and so far minimal signs of wear. They have also been the only boots that are actually waterproof even in downpours.
Also some Meindl shoes for spring / autumn use which have also held up well.
If you put alot of miles through your boots it's well worth forking out for some decent ones, and also take care of them! Don't leave them caked in mud, give them some treatment every now and then.
