Done. Great cause having had a few BCCs in my life (which is rare for my age) that fear if something more serious is always lurking in the back of my mind

Update my new target of £1000 has been reached thanks to all the lovely people on here that have massively helped
I had to have some treatment yesterday and saw Emmily the Macmillan nurse I showed her at the time my total was £780 and she became quite emotional with a tear running down her face and said that sum of money will help and affect 3 patient`s lives this money I am raising really will help people that get this terrible illness
so from the bottom of my heart thank you all so much

All the best Gerry. I was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer 12 months ago at 57, my life fell apart.

After a lot of treatment, thankfully they are saying my prognosis is now very good. My Macmillan nurse was with me from day 1 (diagnosis), she is my angel , she helped me throughout all the difficult treatment and I know she will be there to support me over the next 5 years during my checkups. In my hour of need when things got very dark and difficult, she was there for me and I will be eternally grateful. They are very special people.

A fantastic cause.

So sorry to hear this mate
but glad your treatment is going well average person wont know just what Macmillan nurse`s can do for you when you dont know how to cope
I suffered terrible lower back pain for a year as I had been going to Gym twice a week and was super strong and fit thought it was a torn muscle and Covid stopped me going to hospital not knowing it was a tumour growing in my spine

so can you imagen how devastated I was when they said its not curable and you will be disabled and in permanent pain for the remainder of your life and was eventually sent home as its safer infection wise to be home than in hospital a week later I was in a terrible state living on my own I realised I needed help so Phoned Macmillan nurse`s that was the best thing I have ever done both emotionally and financially they were / are a shining light when your in your darkest hours
thats why I am trying to raise as much as possible for them

Could we have the link to the donation site permanently stuck at the top of the thread so it's easy to find?
At the moment you have to scroll down and search for it

Here we go,
I'm not sure how to post links correctly but here goes, take a look at Gerry Giles (OG) featuring in the latest offering from Rob Malin and friends at Big Carp
“Old school carping vol 4”
Gerry has contributed to it and been immortalised between and on the cover for his exploits back in the 70s take a look at chapter 12 “Early 70s Carping”

http://www.bigcarpmagazine.co.uk/Fishing-Books/Rob-Maylin-and-friends/Old-School-Carping-Volume-4-274.html

Even in the face of adversity there's light at the end of the tunnel, keep it going OG, I would add there are no links in there pointing us to the next best deal, oh well you can't have everything.
😂😂😂😂
All the best
