I take my adult son to France fishing with me, it's the only time he fishes and he wouldn't call himself a fisherman.
I do his rigs and with a baitboat, he catches just as many as me as the skill element has largely gone.
Means he has a fun week so I don't mind.
Lakes have got harder over the last few years for sure and I do put that down to baitboats

The under 16 social media ban is clearly a concern that less kids will enter the sport.
Will magazine sales increase because of this or will the under 16s find ways to carry on regardless. I suspect the latter.

How do you stop the ducks from giving themselves away while on a call. I've got some decent directional headphones/ mic but I've been asked twice about the duck noises.

P&O doing a 15% early booking discount at present.
A car is over £200 so your van price sounds right. Ferries seem to have gone up a lot since covid

I've decided to get a vw multivan. Ideal for local fishing and the twice a year French trips plus family use. And not too large so no more difficult to park in tight spots than an estate car

Wafter can give iffy hookholds. Try cork stick but make it less than a normal wafter,
My "wafter" rig is slip D, big hook, tungsten kicker, 4" uncoated or 7" soft coated braid. The stiffer the material with a wafter, I find you tend to get some hookholds in the scissors

So sad, had a good few pm's with Martin over the years. RIP
And does anyone know how Ken Townley is getting on, he wasn't too well last I heard but hopefully recovering well.
