Just for fun, what's the stupidest myth you've ever had the pleasure of being told.

Mine is the ever faithful, this fish has never been caught before as the skirt on the top lip is unbroken....even though it's on the bank....ok....

The list is endless on this my favorite one of many is there not having it.. And they don't come out of this swim in the Day or night 😂

Your wasting your time using fishmeal baits on here. Then you go and bag two of the bigger fish in the lake on them

There was a pike in a lake that had one eye called Nelson, it also lived in another lake near by too. I wonder if it was ever caught.

You won't catch them off the surface in here. Red rag to a bull that 1. Had that on a big Oxfordshire pit, had them going crackers for floaters most days. Regulars couldn't believe it, it was all distance boat work on there.

Not a myth but once upon a time I used to live by a canal and used to walk my dog every day. One particular day i was talking to an angler for around 15 minutes and then upon saying bye I noticed my dog ‘had on the lead' had eaten almost a pint of maggots and had only left a few. I apologised and after leaving went to purchase the angler some more so he could carry on fishing.

The next day I went down the canal and all was fine until I got around the corner and could see an angler around 50 yards away but unfortunately my dog saw him first. I shouted ‘WATCH YOUR MAGGOTS MATE'. In his rush to pick up his maggots his luggage bag remained open and a few seconds later my dog had fcuked off with his sandwiches.....I couldn't apologise enough.

A polish grandma once told me that carp cry for mercy when they get caught, if they cry enough they will be returned to the water, if not they go in the pot.
The biggest ones cry the most

My mother's dog had a habit of pissing on brollys and tents, pole sections, you name it

That dropping the lead is essential for both fish safety and landing fish if weed is present...

a 60 mile round trip to Barnard Castle is a great way to see if you can drive 260 miles back to London....

and if you are particularly concerned about your eyesight failing, it's best to have your sick wife and child in the car...

That Tournament 5000t and ss3000 are better than modern reels
I have been carp fishing for 30 years and had ss3000s for ages. Convinced myself they were great reels until I used a modern set
Sold them to someone prepared to pay silly money on eBay and never looked back

Most of the young “trendies” weren't even born when they were released

Yep, i had the 'must have' ss 3000s as well....looking back, what a heap of junk they were 😀

Similar to a couple that tournies are better than modern reels.

The noise is horrendous, the drag is meh and the retrieve is plain slow, but as they are bomb proof I have a set but refused to pay some of the inflated prices on eBay waited for a cheaper set got 3 for £200 all in

Farnham lakes aren't rammed.

Tournament reels are nice to use.
