Great question. I'm in the same boat as you. I would also like to hear views on fishing with adjustable zigs.

I have the lo-pro and a couple of oval brollies. I haven't used the lo-pro much as I mostly fish days and use a chair not a bedchair. I think the lo-pro is best suited as a light overnight shelter when using a bedchair. You have a better view of the lake from an oval brolly if you are sitting on a chair. The lo-pro is rather long when packed down. If you need a brolly for day fishing then I would without a doubt choose the Quickdraw 52 over the lo-pro.

Good to hear that you like the rods and as you say, they are a joy to play fish on.

You will not be disappointed with the Kaizen 2 piece. It's a great net. Just be careful when you push it into the ground or bottom of the lake. Push on the end part of the handle with the spike on it. If you push on the other part of the pole you will push the two pieces together and they can be tricky to pull apart again. I know this from personal experience ;-)

The Korda Kaizen Green 2 piece is a great net. It's the easiest net to put together and break down that I ever had. Great with the spike on the end so you can push it into the bottom when you have caught a fish. Floating as well, so no need for a net float.
And the added bonus - I know I'm crazy - is the lovely sound it makes when you pull the two pieces of the handle apart.

If the weed is quite high and you want to present a bait on top of it, then I think leadcore could drag your bait into the weed. You may be better of using a chodanoster.

Linky poo

I think fishing the chod 5-6 ft away from the lead on a slack line will give you a bungee-effect that makes it very hard for the carp to eject the rig.

Like you I have fished chods on rather long pieces of leadcore and it has worked very well on cleanish bottoms or very low weed, but I'm not so sure it will work in heavy weed.

I bought the Chirp+ 3 and the range extender. I really like the 3d mapping - especially on the deeper waters. The app is easy to use. I have only used it on a phone, but I guess it is even better on a tablet. So far the phone is good enough for me. I have had a few connectivity issues when using the Deeper with a bait boat. Could be caused by the way the Deeper is mounted on the boat. Not a major problem but annoying when it happens.

I find them well balanced and not tip heavy at all. I have used them with my ss2600 reels and that is a really great and light combo. On a recent trip I put my tournies on them just to try them with a bigger reel, but I like them better with the ss2600.
I've had fish to over 40lb on them and never felt undergunned.
