Whats your biggest annoyance with Day ticket lakes?

I rarely fish them as I hate not being able to turn up whenever I want, and have the time and space to be able to make a decision based on where the fish are, rather than "where can I slot in".
If I HAVE to be there before the gate opens (for a social for example). There's no anxiety like spending 30 quid over the phone and going in blind. You're 6th in the queue and you don't have the ability to just have a good walk round prior. All five cars ahead of you head to the same car park (if it's a 43 lake complex) and all of them grab a bucket, then run like they've just realised they've left the tumble drier on and there's only £2 left on their key.
Then you realise the anxiety was all for nothing, as you slip the net under your 84th F1 of the day before you've even stuck the kettle on.

Why? Some very good fishing to be had with alot of them, and there are some cracking lakes to fish. Places like bluebell, stanwick, sandhurst, horseshoe to name a few.
Day tickets get a lot of bad press on here, but let's be honest they are integral to carp angling whether people like it or not.

The lakes near me vary from carp queuing to jump on the hook to a lake containing pristine carp that if you can catch one or two a week that's a good session. Sadly though some of the fish in the that particular lake are now starting to show damage since night fishing has been allowed.

Guess like syndicates, there are different variations on day ticket places that attract varying types of anglers.
i fished Bluebell, once, never again, not knocking it, its just not for me.

Day tickets for me are good for a social and the chance of a bend in the rod. Most are overstocked with big fish to pull the punters in, most of which I bet are trying to break a personal best, could be wrong? But when people moan about etiquette I wouldn't because I would not expect them to be full of seasoned anglers, more the opposite, inexperienced so you need to take the rough with the smooth and be prepared unfortunately
I could not think of anything worse than trying to seriously fish a day ticket, it is nothing more than lottery fishing, a lot of luck because the chance of getting where you really want to fish is around zero unless you have plenty of time on your hands but then your a camper, not a carper

A club I fished nearly 20 years ago fella playing with hus alarms constantly . I use Atts, that reciver gets clicked off during s run let alone when adjusting stuff. But I realise not everyone feels the same.

So I just ambled over to him to say hello. He had a piece of card

Most within reasonable travelling distance of me are closed shop/recommendation by existing members only and that's only if an existing member drops out. Few with waiting lists are extremely long waits.

Why do people drink loads of alcohol?
Unless you've partaken in such activity, be it boozing, smoking weed, class a drugs - then you're never really going to understand why people do it. Having said that, whatever your view on any of those things, being intoxicated and handling fish should be a complete no-no in my opinion.

Same with the piss heads, because they can't do it at home! wifey won't let them, probably beat her up after a slab of Stella. I have a mate who used to come with us, at first we used to laugh about it, stoned all the time, we used to give his tent a good shake etc, make him paranoid, in the end it got boring so we ****ed him off, stoned 24/7 on the bud
If people want to have the odd joint and a can or two to relax that's their choice, it it starts effecting others around them, then that's out of order for me

A couple of months ago the guy on the next peg came over as I was casting.
You need to fish further out.
There's a plateau 10 to 12 wraps out.
I know that's why I'm fishing 11 wraps 😂😂

I have it on a free lake it's on side of road I've had people turn up as soon as I'm setting up no rods out emptying barrow to get ‘have you caught anything mate'
Also
Adults turning up with kids non English demanding to see the fish
Alcoholic coming round as I pack up asking if I caught I said no he said ‘you had nothing it's an easy water'It's not easy but did have a 21 the night before just didn't want to tell him
Also
A guy eating his chips on the platform I was fishing he was not far from my rods either

Day ticket and club waters, issue is always the people... casting across into your bank (common issue), constantly spodding but not catching, leaving rods unattended to go sit with their mates, buzzers turned up so loud the whole lake can hear them - then constantly fiddling with bobbins, no light discipline at night - some even have PR lights on poles, smoking dope, alcohol and NOISE, NOISE, NOISE. These muppets can't even talk into a mobile without shouting, then you get those who burp as loud as they can, shout across swims to their mates, swear and use offensive, even racist language... oh the list of annoyances just goes on and on.. I've packed up and gone home when it gets too much. As to taking kids on these waters, that's sadly not possible. You complain and find out the bailiffs do flip all as they are invariably mates with the offenders. Thankfully, they don't like wind, cold and rain, so that's when I fish such places... oh and di I mention they catch flip all as well. Makes you winder why they go carp fishing at all. Glorified camping I suppose. Welcome to any day or club water in Essex...

A friend of mine was hit when walking on a footpath by a drug driver, he spent two months in hospital and is now is in a wheelchair, so don't even think about telling me it is harmless. Got two guys charged only a few weeks ago. Feck 'em .

if one is referring to smoking it, ive never done, know plenty who do, dont bother if they do, not much different to drinking in my book and most of us like a glass of red or three
