to be fair,he has a stupid name and a chin strap, but he genuinely comes across as a nice guy who knows what he's talking about.
The double leading is due to the line often coming straight up from the lead to a float (rainbow is full of underwater snags, so the line needs to be up off the bottom) the second lead 6ft from the main lead means that the line and hookilink around the bait is on the deck

Never met the lad personally and cannot knock his enthusiasm , swim 17 is not the easiest to fish he has had some good results in there.

I agree and his rainbow films are ace! Ear in mind that he is making a film so has to get into character to some extent to make it interesting. I bet he's actually good company on the bank.

I always find his 'enthusiasm ' a bit false and put on for the sake of the camera, find him difficult to watch,

I've just sat through it, agree he looks bloody stupid, the body cam stuff has never worked in what ever medium it's been used in, same with the tiny planet GoPro scenes. As for the titles and music, like a kid who's making a first video in Vegas Pro!!! The bank stuff and talking to the camera is fine, he is at least enthusiastic but once you've seen a 60lb common the rest just fade in to oblivion. Would love to tackle the place but I certainly wouldn't expect anyone to want to watch it.
Kev Ellis' films work, because of his character and the other people on the lake, not just the catching.. but that's the way modern carping as gone unfortunately

I liked the video... his editing was great and some really good camera shots etc. Cant knock the fish he caught as well and seeing as he does it all himself I applaud him. Although I did turn it off at first as I thought I had seen it already (it was his second video in 17 I think)

Bit harsh to lay into a bloke for how he looks, or being enthusiastic about his fishing. I'm sure he's a decent bloke. If you don't like the look of it you don't have to watch it. At least he's putting content out for people, a lot more constructive than b*tching about someone's facial hair on a forum.

Personally I thought it was enjoyable couple of hours killed in lockdown. Yeah some bits are a little annoying (heavy breathing for 10mins of a boat battle gets on my tits, and do worry what the Mrs would think if she heard it), but overall I'd say hats off to him. Not easy filming yourself on a 24/48hr session let alone and 2 week trip when, from the sounds of it he had a fair few dramas as well.

He puts out an extremely well edited, exciting film about a water which most of us will only dream of fishing....for free and people criticize him. My mind is still boggled by this.
It's a great watch by the way, I saw it last night.

It's how the world has become unfortunately,not just in carp fishing.Lets judge people by what they wear how they look or how they speak.It normally says more about the individual making the comments,very very sad indeed

The term "carp fishing" is a very wide spectrum and at each end there are extremes from the man who commits to an inland sea for a handful of fish a year to the man who fishes a runs water for 30 fish a day!
Now imagine the man on the inland sea having a couple of results a year and posting those up on the internet to the one fishing a stock pond and sticking 1 a week up, who is the best angler? who has made the commitment and put the effort in
Then include peoples personal preferences, I don't like gob *****s, liars or bull****ters for example, they make my **** itch, some people may like it
And finally, put yourself on a pedestal for the world to see, and if you do, you get all the flack you deserve for me. I would say a lot of it is due to the above reasons

I have seen a few on You tube and they make me chuckle. My 2 cents, fine video, nice fish and all, shame about the fridge, the butt hurt about trolls, and the obvious hurt feelz about his skills. Let's just say he wouldn't last long in the 90'ies gaming scene.
I did like his winter series for dna he did earlier, it kinda grew on me, and in the end i thought good banter, kinda refreshing.

I've never heard of the guy so watched the vid to see what all the fuss is about. Apart from the overuse of the phrase "luvvly jubbly" I found it very watchable. He's certainly not as annoying a Alan Blair in the way he comes across on screen. The guy knows what he's doing and catches some terrific fish. If your jaded by 60lb commons. I feel sorry for you.

I quite enjoyed it and fair play to be doing the filming whilst fishing solo and then editing himself. I have no desire to fish Rainbow but I do tend to enjoy the videos. One part that made me chuckle is him explaining the double lead system that works 99 times out of 10

well what can i say ....i can usually sit through most music including the obligatory drum n bass on all carp videos BUT OMG i lasted about 10 seconds when the music ??? kicked in WTF is it ? some kind of thrash metal ? could this be used as a form of white noise torture like in the movies lol ....but whatever floats your boat ....they obviously had fun making the video
