Ì take it the castor oil doesn't 'set' as such so always in liquid form whilst on the hook ?

Agreed , when I started using crimps , I could pull them through with a bit of force, someone on here told me that no way that amount of force could be applied in a fishing situation. Lost a good fish in the margin when the 25lb boom pulled through the crimp ! Now I crimp and apply a lot of force , they don't moved at all and back confident in them again !

Steves leads are excellent, also came across this guy on ebay , good quality leads, and very quick delivery, Carpy Steve , 10 x 3oz leads £11.99. Steves leads and carpy Steve are not one of the same , just to clarify that!

What hook pattern are you guys using , I've been using thd Korda wide gape X, and had some decent fish with good hook holds, but I have also found these to go blunt quite quickly even when just left out in the pond for 24 hours ! I expect to have to change hooks after a fish but not when it's just been out there on a silty patch !

I'll give this a go and report back, how did you come up with the idea of castor oil of all things ?

I find with the putty on the knot that the hook hangs down in a better position than with out it ! Try picking up the rig from the micro swivel and see how the hook hangs with and without the putty !
Are you sure?
