March, at some point they will start to relax the smaller things that pose no danger at all.

Ideally though, tomorrow

Lockdown ends on 31st March although they hope to start relaxing certain things throughout March.....I'm sure Jamie Cook and the AT have barged their way to the front of the queue so get your bivvies ready for the stampede....

much prefer the days only, no weekend campers, less people can be bothered, quieter banks, therefore more fish.

Think it could be as early as 15th feb like already said. Soon as they relax outdoor activities and time spent outdoors / local travel ect it should be good to go again.

Agreed, they can keep the night fishing ban in place all year - banks are quieter, fishing has been better and I don't have to compete with the time bandits hogging the best swims at weekends. Just want to see the travel restrictions lifted, not that people are taking much notice of that - there have been several people on the two waters I am fishing right now who have travelled well over 50 miles for the day... up to them if they want to risk a fine I guess.

As soon as possible hopefully I don't like day session fishing never have and never will, I am a very active angler and stay very mobile but I when I go fishing I like to go for 2/3 days at least maybe even longer. I just don't do day sessions simple as that and it's doing my head in because this is normally my favourite time of year for it aswell

But we have to take into account what's going on so would be a bit stupid to start letting everyone back to normal to soon

Depends really,..on what side of the bed Klaus gets out of,and gives the boys at NWO,the nod,if they get the nod...the WHO org will tell Whitty ,van tam..that they can let the plebs out of the pens to carry on some sort of new normal..

This'll result in Boris being told what to say and do by the 13 apex families,ie the elites
Mind you agenda 21,and the reset guys will probably stop anyone doing anything enjoyable..

Other than the above, not sure when we're allowed to fish at night again..

Lol...

As Soon as possible hopefully when they relax the travel rules too as the syndicate I'm on is over an hour away so obviously I've not been there since this lockdown, I think last year with work and lock down I managed 3 sessions... luckily my Mrs spends money on shoes so I compare the value of my ticket to the cost of shoes she buys

But im not wanting to come across as selfish as there are far more pressing things than my fishing and hopefully there will be a light at the end of this tunnel soon with the vaccination program and lockdown restrictions.

I have not seen that comment but when he talks I switch off to be honest. The guy is a bumbling idiot and has done a terrible job of it all.I don't really want this thread to turn into another massive covid debate.I did see a TV programme the other day saying we should give the vaccine to other countries once we have done the four most at risk groups in this country.

"When do we see night fishing returning?"
Really interesting post actually.
If you consider the amount of countries that have night fishing bans and still have records of decent catches......
Food got thought maybe...

Anyone else got a horrible feeling that it will go away in the summer like it did last year then come back in the winter when the vaccines don't turn out to be as effective as they thought? Much like flu.

Back to the original question I really don't know and to be fair don't really care, at the moment I don't get any time to day fish, let alone night fish!

It's funny, I'm no conspiracy theorist but.........I have a mate who spouts all this stuff and he started going on about ten years ago about the ‘great reset' and how they will go about it. We used to just grin and wink at each other when he wasn't looking. Thing is, most of the things (but not all to be fair) that he was saying is now happening...... does make you think.
As for the fishing........live for every day, get out as much as you can and when the nights are back, their back. Let's just concentrate on getting past this.

People are naturally healthier in summer than in winter, and are more able to fight off any illnesses.

It didn't help that people were locked down, kept indoors, the perfect environment for viruses, like colds, flu and coronavirus to spread, and when they could go out it was decent weather. Of course the government blamed everyone else for government initiative 'ideas' like Eat Out to Help Out, which when the weather turned wet and customers were forced indoors became superspreader events.

I'm not sure of the vaccines, as from my understanding of reading Pfizer and Modena explanations, they do NOT prevent you catching coronavirus, or spreading it on, just reduce symptoms.

Yes it would be nice to go night fishing again, although with the way my syndicate is fishing...
The distance to travel, 25ish miles, means I would prefer to stay overnight.

Simple answer, I don't think the government understand fishing, half of them hardly understand exercise, none are golfers, so fishing is still a minor consideration. Reckon it will be a long wait.

Does your mate know about 'lockstep'...if he does, ask him, because all that's happening is written down, pretty much to a T..

This was written over 10 yrs ago..

The mainstream media are not reporting the deaths of vaccinated people in other countries, nor the massive protests..

Covid exists,it is a blind for another purpose..

It's all about control ,not a virus...

it's a hell of an illness for a minute sub set of the at risk groups. reality is , if your under 60 it's barely a consideration and actually undeniably more detrimental to be locked indoors. However due to how quickly it can spread hospitals would be overwhelmed without lockdown , it starting to look like vaccines are a way out if enough people can get the doses by May I expect to see some changes .. potentially March for schools. It's definitely real , minor infection to most people. I had a really good scientific paper published in November that basically had your chances of dieing if you caught the disease by age, gender , countries health care status and whether you had comorbidities .. basically someone like me late 30s , none smoker , none drinker , no comorbidities the changes of dieing are 1 in 100,000 and chances of serious illness / hospitilatio were like a handful more a dozen or so per 100,000

The Rockefeller report from 2010 and the lockstep section are already being de-bunked as there is no direct reference to Covid 19, however the content is scarily accurate . . .people need to make their own minds up as to what is worth reading or not - the layers of truths and untruths are rife on both sides of the fence . . . .

Cannot imagine that night fishing wont be returned imminently - especially for member only waters or syndicates . . .

6 months ago i would have said coronavirus was rubbish and made up, having now had it and was very unwell, lost a good friend to it and my wife's uncle died of it, so its real.

I also was saying I wouldn't, have something injected into me that has been in the back of bill satan gates fridge for years, but i need to travel and a biometric passport is on the way regardless of what people/government say.

Night fishing, is going on, i've seen it with my own eyes albeit not on my water even though I bailiff it much to my annoyance.

The fact that it can affect two very similar individuals in totally extreme ways clearly has to be down to the individuals ability to deal with it, probably Vitamin D and Zinc levels being the main culprits, most people don't even consider them or that they may be deficient, folks who were saying this a year ago when all this started were told to be quiet

However

This may well be the reason that the BAME community is more seriously affected by COVID than the rest, they apparently don't synthesise Vitamin D as well as lighter skinned people. We also get less Vitamin D during the winter due to less sunlight, which may also explain the peak in serious reactions during winter.

I would urge everyone to buy Vitamin D and zinc supplements as well as a general multi vitamin to boost their intake of those, as well as eating sensibly, and staying as fit as possible.

As to the great reset, my other half is well into all the conspiracy theories, it causes some friction in our house as I am not so quick to believe them, why does Bill Gates want more money? He gives most of his away to the Bill Gates Foundation anyway! She has stockpiled food so we have 3 months worth of food anticipating a massive shortage due to lockdowns, Brexit etc etc , doesn't seem to have happened yet.

She also believes COVID is nothing worse than the flu and won't wear a mask as she thinks they do more harm than good.

I have lost two clients to COVID in the last month, both were old (70+) but they certainly weren't due to die yet had they not got COVID. One client of mine has lost his wife and only daughter within a week. Try telling him it's nothing worse than a cold.

Funny that. My missus has worn one for most of the day for the last 20odd years and it hasn't hurt her (along with all the other surgeons/theatre staff). Unfortunately

In her defence there is a huge difference between a surgical mask worn properly and changed between patients and a cloth mask worn for hours/days in a row without being cleaned and getting moist and providing a breeding ground for viruses etc and also preventing people breathing clean fresh air properly.

Having said that I wear a mask whenever I need to go in a shop etc. not only for my own protection but also to protect others and make them feel safer.

That's the problem, there is a significant number of younger people who, because the virus poses little of no threat to them, don't take any precautions. They're the ones who take it home to mum/dad, gran/grandad.

I do hope that I'll be able to do nights when it gets a bit warmer. Not too downbeat that I can't do the nights, more bothered about baiting up before the fish start mincing about a bit more.

On the effects of being stuck at home:

I did strike me that kids, like really young kids, their development must be so dramatically affected by not being able to interact with other kids outside of their immediate family. Stuff like not being selfish otherwise you get excluded from the group, like general social learning.

It's to stop people travelling miles to go to a water - if they can't stay overnight not many people are going to travel 4hrs each way to fish for a couple of hours.....

As much as the govt are useless f**kers, its hard to blame them when 400 people gather for a wedding in a bit of london with 1.5x the average infection rate. Or 4 people who aren't related travelling a 200 mile round trip to go to McDonalds. We had a couple from Kent turned around on Exmoor as they'd come to see the snow, and knew they shouldn't go to Wales

Something we were speaking about today. Our 3 year old granddaughter didn't play with another child at all during 1st lockdown. It certainly effected her ability to mix with other children for a while. Thankfully nurseries are currently still open, and she has that essential interaction 👍

I was chatting to a mate last night and he was telling me that because his boy isn't old enough to go to nursery, he's boy has only just been able to watch kids from afar.

This bit got me, he was saying that his boy was watching some kids on a merry go round and obviously wasn't able to play with them. After the kids had left, my mates boy started pushing the merry go round on his own. Man, that really did me up. That's what got me thinking, must be loads of the same or similar all up and down the country and the entire globe!

We're a social animal and we need interaction as soon as we're able to. There'll be so many socially underdeveloped kids going forward.

Apologies all.for going off on a tangent

I have been told by professionals that as a result of the first lockdown there has been a lag in social and communication development in pre-school children nationally, particularly in the 0-2 age bracket. Not a major delay and nothing they can't bounce back from but it's happened.

no apology needed for a tangent that's more interesting than can we fish at night... (imho)

I have definitely noticed that our Y8 cohort - who missed almost half of y7 (1st year at secondary) - are much more challenging than in previous years. and now of course they are missing more.

the dilemma is that a generation with whom we are trying to encourage less 'screen time', now finds this as their primary access to education.

and Tinhead - maybe it's us 'moaning teachers' that are wanting schools open. in the right way, and doing the right things. that's why Gavin can .... (you know the rest)

My wife works with early years and the lack of social interaction for 0 to 2 year olds will cause huge communication issues. The delays will be considerable and not something some will ever "bounce back" from unfortunately. There are little ones coming up for a year old who have never been out of their house, let alone socialised..

there's a push for teachers - like police and fire crews - to be prioritised based on infrastructure needs. at ours, we can get twice weekly tests (3 days apart) when going in to work with key worker kids. Don't be fooled by the narrative that schools are 'closed'... some places have over 50% attendance. the average is way above first school lockdown.

and Enut - i've been an advocate for years that the Victorian style factory approach with written exams at the end of 2 year gcse's is a way less effective and fair way of awarding qualifications. modular assessment / ongoing coursework / practical application are all more useful in my opinion. the current exam system widens the gap between advantaged and disadvantaged pupils - which is probably why Gove et al support it. keep those working class kids in their place eh?

edit - gone a bit 'non carp' now sorry - here's a fish to redress the balance a bit

Do teachers worry that a lot of the key workers kids that you look after are coming to school from homes where the key workers themselves aren't being tested and working in conditions that they are far more likely to catch covid and potentially bring covid home passing it onto the kids who then pass it on again at school in a vicious circle?

Was it you who said they were something to do with the music industry ? a few names have come out recently shouting , regarding the rules and regulations surrounding brexit making playing on the continent difficult !

Anyway , i reckon April for night fishing , it's hard to judge anything at the moment though as all information , facts figures etc are so political they are being manipulated by all involved !

Lets hope that the weather will bail us out like last spring !

I am more concerned about our debt at the end of all this and i expect it to be over £3 trillion especially when £700 billion triggered 12 years of austerity !

of course it's a concern - but we've really strict safety protocols in place (when Gavin Williamson is ****ing them up) and the difference with most kids is that they actually abide by the guidance rather than thinking they know better...

in a school of over 1500 kids, we had no positive cases that were seen as directly transmitted at school between Sept and Christmas. this new strain may be a different story.

You lot really need to find another hobby - it's supposed to be a thread on when night fishing will be resumed and you all use it as another excuse to moan about everything covid. No night fishing allowed until current restrictions are amended - how hard is that to understand?

it was a response to a prior comment - that's how discussion works. people find their own relevant points that are related to what others have said.

of course if your only interest is 'when can i go fishing at night?' then you've answered that so feel free to not bother reading the thread anymore eh?

When do we see night fishing returning? Government says never because humans can't see in the dark but covid 19 can.

If they continue to make up, sorry advise us against new strains (which now it appears our current magic bullet vaccine may not be able to cope with) when will this ever end . . . . . .? Work, businesses, kids education, and yes night fishing . . .they all need to return asap, for the sake of everyone's sanity

Have you heard the latest and remarkable news that if you have had the vaccine you can still contract the virus and unknowingly pass it on......just like the millions of people who have the Influenza vaccine each year can also still contract Flu and unknowingly pass it on....

This truly groundbreaking understanding in medical science will no doubt astound the health industry, professors and scientists.

Hardly calling out the adherents of intersectionality and the non sensical "social justice" drivel for instance is he?

Funnily enough, Starmer wrote for commie rags back in the 80's, what he is now, who knows. Was he just a plant all along or a Starlin'esk authoritarian just playing the long game? Either way, with the commies running things in the near future, all I see are Solzhenitsyn's forebodings materialized if you give those lunatics the slightest sniff of power.

I think you have swallowed the corporate hysteria with regard to your's and their version of communism . communism has never existed , the closest any country came to it was in Cuba , it might of worked had it not been for American sanctions , who knows ?
What they fear is capitalist based socialism , like Norway , Sweden , New Zealand etc , which have all left the UK for dead if you compare their living standards , pensions , schools ,least corruption , etc , look it up ! they are having your pants down lad !

lack of social interaction for 0 to 2 year olds will cause huge communication issues.

.... and yet many years ago you started school at 5 (I did). No play school, nurseries etc. You had your mum and any neighbours. So where were all the communication issues then? Also, many young kids these days think that using the net is communication enough.

Technology and communication......can of worms there mate and it's not the kids it is the parents half the time who instead of putting a dummy in juniors mouth to keep him/her quiet they give them their i-phone. My wife has seen cases of addiction in toddlers from 18 months who go into a meltdown if they do not have access to a phone or i-pad....

That perfectly demonstrates how, as with a lot of things research moves on and we have a much greater understanding now of early years development and how crucial those formative years are.

You forgot to add the word *sarcasm* at the end of your post

Leftists always try and argue the 'but it's not realz communism' angle, so what was the Russian, Chinese, Cambodia experiment, sudo communism', communism lite...leading to millions dead with China having the biggest death tally of around 100 million either starved to death or a bullet to the head? Cuba you say? Lol, Castro died having amassed hundreds of millions, the *revolutionary* had his own private island with floating restaurant, helipad and fancy yachts to name a few things, whilst the majority lived and still live in abject poverty, no thanks.

I think you're a bit starry eyed if you think the likes of Sweden are the answer to an imaginary utopia, the place is a hellhole. If you question the insane narrative of intersectionality for instance, you could well have your life ruined i.e lost job, bank account cancelled. There's a slew of well renowned/ highly regarded professors for example stating well known and accepted *facts* - leftists don't like facts, the just like da feels - who have had their professional lives ground into the dirt as it doesn't sit well with the crazy SJW's/ commies.

Capitalism has many flaws and is highly manipulated and table slanted minus the high body count of that of communism. As bad as capitalism might be right now, I'd take it over socialism which always leads to communism (you only have to look at history) anyday of the week.

From what i have seen regarding your posts , you really need to get up to date with this , then question why you hear nothing about this in the uk , well especially form our corporate backed press !

The socialist part of "Social Democracy" is a total misnomer, it's anything but socialist in terms of the Swedish economy; for example:- state pensions privatised, utilities privatised. In a socialist society the government controls the means of production. The dirty secret in Sweden is that the poor pay the majority of taxes, like upto 60% on their earnings, they don't take from the rich to give to the poor, the take from the poor so the rich pay little in taxes.

Sweden is a capitalist country other than its socialist dictates conjured up by government forced upon them by pressure groups (postmodernists, identitarians et al) like the dogmatic policing of language and thought crimes. This isn't anything new, similar is happening globally, much to the detriment of the societal structure, yet Sweden is one of a number of countries that is one of the first to slowly head over the cliff in slow-mo.

When Sweden was a true socialist state back in the 70's for instance, it was on its arse as what was coming into the government lead it to struggle to pay their pension debt. This is what happens in socialist countries, it sounds very enticing, in practice the whole thing just falls apart, and if it is turned around, people start dying en-mass.

I'm going to leave that there as this is a massive deviation from *when can we go night fishing again* lol.

What a load of bollo**s ,

List what the average person rates , to achieve the best quality of life , for me it's !

job security with a decent wage .

A good ,well funded NHS .

A state pension which is nearly on a par with the average wage , not the paltry uk state pension of £175 per week

Quality schools

not to mention , the least corruption

Yes they pay slightly more more taxes , but when you weigh that against the benefits it's a no brainer

Unless you want to sustain a broken capitalist system where the corrupt and well connected shaft everyone else !

Capitalism is corrupted , it just needs tuning and regulation , we see why on a daily basis !

These Democratic socialist countries have achieved all the above , they pack the top ten in all the charts for the above list .
Please state which country you base your assumptions on as i have !

Paradise...until the postmodernists/ Marxists coming knocking at your door claiming that although everybody got an equal slice of the pie, the reason that you got your slice of the pie and have become successful is because of your privilege, the privilege of having two arms and two legs, whereas your neighbor has only one arm and two legs which gives you power over him and you're oppressing him and you now have to hand over one half of your farm to be distributed among those without your privilege.

Next step... genocide.

>What a load of bollo**s ,

Really? Kys

>List what the average person rates , to achieve the best quality of life , for me it's !

This should be fun

>Job security with a decent wage .

The market place of jobs shifts constantly. Security is nigh on impossible. Define decent wage?

>A good ,well funded NHS .

I'm sure most would want a "good" NHS, you wouldn't want a s_hit one would you? The NHS is well funded, unfortunately the money that goes in pays off monies owed to PPI contracts and the like for new hospital wings first brought about by the Labour Party

>A state pension which is nearly on a par with the average wage , not the paltry uk state pension of £175 per week

The pension pot is running on empty due to market crashes like 2008 which bolloxed it all up, all due to deregulation of markets which Maggie Thatcher helped bring about manufactured by the likes of Milton Friedman

>Quality schools

Define "quality"

>not to mention , the least corruption

Pretty nebulous

>Yes they pay slightly more more taxes , but when you weigh that against the benefits it's a no brainer

Lol wat? So you'd be happy with just 40% of your earnings?

>Unless you want to sustain a broken capitalist system where the corrupt and well connected shaft everyone else !

The Capitalist system has been eroded by crazy deregulation, like I mentioned in part in relation to 2008

>Capitalism is corrupted , it just needs tuning and regulation , we see why on a daily basis !

All systems are corrupt to one degree or another, I've already given you an example of your Cuban utopia in a previous post

>These Democratic socialist countries have achieved all the above , they pack the top ten in all the charts for the above list .

What's this, Top of The Pops?

>Please state which country you base your assumptions on as i have !

I'm not assuming anything, I've stated well known and agreed historical facts

State pension is effectively funded by DMO issued gilts at the outset... Not equity based so any correlation to market crashes is weak (the relationship is typically inverse, in fact).

To be critical of a low state pension... Why don't you look at Greece and the other PIGS... early retirement age, high state pension = bankrupt state.

I don't know what you're on about? Comparing what to what?

If you're basing your metric on GDP, yeah, were what 20th or something, what makes these things a bit wonky is population size. Look at the countries at the top, what their GDP consists of and population size. It's no small wonder why Luxembourg is no:1 with a tiny population and all the major companies using it as a tax haven.

How do you judge a country , well the best way and it is voted on yearly , is , the happiness of it's citizens , every one of the western " Nordic social democratic" countries are in top 10 places , nearly every place is filled , year after year with countries that have adopted the nordic system , of , capitalist based democratic socialism !
The list of the happiest places in the world to live

1 Finland
2 Denmark
3Switzerland
4Iceland
5Norway
6Netherlands
7Finland
8Denmark
9Switzerland
10Iceland

Canada , Australia and New Zealand are often up there in the top spots , alas , the UK and America don't make it !

And we are quickly slipping down this league

Greece , as we all know, is no fit comparison ,basket case , riddled with corruption ,

with the levels of debt now in the uk , what do you think our credit rating will be after this and the coming shrinking of our economy due to brexit , good luck with your ,government , or bank of England backed investments , there are big changes coming , expect the unexpected as China become the world superpower and the Dollar is dumped as the world currency , for the yen , we have never been in such a poor position to recover from such a shi*storm , the last time we came close was under Atlee after WWII and his , wait for it "Socialist ideology ", full unemployment , NHS , built millions of houses , etc !
