Thread: Sinking Braid

I keep all the old putty off used rigs and have a ball of it in tackle box, I use this to rub along the last few rod lengths of braid. Probably unnecessary but it would go to waste otherwise anyway.
I use SBX in 25lb, haven’t had an issue with it. It’s nowhere near as heavy as original bullet braid but it’s a good balance of useable density and casting distance.

For comical names I like the "Beadle" in Cartagena, as in Jeremy ……the fish has withered little deformed fins. Made me laugh for the ingenuity in coming up with the name
Other than that I hate all the new breed of names. Especially for just standard fish. The special ones can have names. The 32lb VS linear just doesn't need one. It's always been when fish get to around 30's or something very very distinctive they get a name. How big the fish are in comparison to the 80's/90's nowadays I think that should be increased. Every fish in the lake simply doesn't need a name

Does anyone or has anyone used a safe/lockbox for their rods they store in the garage? Or know of soemthing that would be suitable. I don't want to have to store them in the house but no way I'm leaving them in the garage

I was told they were bringing a new range of rods out that will be better than the hi-s. Apparently called the Hi-Q. I asked someone from the freespirit stable and they asked how I knew and looked surprised so maybe some truth in it unless both was pulling my leg. That was a couple of years ago now…….not heard anything since?
