The school my wife works at said yesterday there is still a slim chance of them going back in June. Obviously things will become a lot clearer in the coming weeks on the true impact and whether we've managed to slow it down enough.

Ok I wasn't going to say anything but I couldn't keep this to myself.
I've got an old shed at the bottom of the garden, doesn't look much from the outside, but it actually contains a portal to another dimension. I popped down there last night and asked God for you, he reckons he's aiming to have this virus all done by next Thursday.
To be honest though he'd been hitting the Stellas cos he can't get out due to the lockdown, so I'm not sure how accurate his info was.

It just shows you how many people waste the staff at A&Es time on unnecessary stuff that they could wait to see a GP for or go to a Pharmacist for.
Someone told me that their A&E has on average 300-400 none urgent walk ins a day normally. A present they are getting about 15. Funny how the thought of contracting a deadly virus focuses people's minds on perhaps doing what they should have done in the first place.

We will be out be the end of April in general but further lock-downs are likely throughout the summer. The Angling Trust and Salmon & Trout Association will hopefully lobby for angling to start up and continue throughout. New habits will have formed and old habits lost and I dont think we will see some anglers return. However, I feel for those people to whom angling is their escape and their life. I know a few who are really struggling with the reality of life normally kept at bay through regular long sessions by the lake fishing for carp.

Ive set up a charity for a friend of mine to help his family that has passed away with the virus i have also been helping old and vulnrable people at my local town with shopping ! Stop snowflaking at people when u dont know them! I just made a topic about it since this is the Seriousness of the world atm! And yes i still am trying to hit 100 doesnt mean i will stop talking about it after i do reach that! And you tell me how do i profit from this

Where I live a have a big open space outside the house (the estates playing field), 500 yards behind my house you are 'down the back' where the river is with river walks etc..
I watch people in 2's, 3's and 4's walk from off of the estate come from the top of the field past my house to go down the back.
My missus went for a walk down there the other day and came back within 15 minutes as she said there was too many people down there. She couldn't cross a bridge over the river to go even further afield as there were too many people hanging around the bridge clearly not knowing how far 2 metres is.

Thanks bud I have 2 kids one of which has ASD and the other struggles with not being at school.
My wife happened to mention that she read on a forum the same thing as you so I think we will gear up to keep the home school going until then 👍

To be fair it's the school governors opinion and not fact but I'm sure they must have some form of information to base this on so you never know......
My Mrs is a SEN Teacher and has been doing loads for the children via websites etc and said some are really struggling with the current changes from there normal routine......

Well I heard the government had offered free school dinners to all teachers and cheese and biscuits for afternoon recess if they went back in two weeks time but the union have rejected this offer and are demanding a full english which they will never get as it would be senn as political racism.

There's no definite call on schools yet. Some thinking is that this year may just be written off and to reopen in September.
Others that if we can get the kids back before the Summer hols it will be much better, especially for those in y10 who are partway through their gcse study - many with exam coursework and units that should be completed in this school year.
The current y11 cohort are ok as the decision has been made regarding awarding their grades but there's a massive knock on effect for next years leavers too....
A lot of kids - and their families- will be struggling with the change in routine and I know it's something that SEN students really benefit from.
I can tell you that teachers won't be enjoying this at all as the most rewarding thing about the job is working with students and seeing them succeed in their own ways.
Edit - and Goose, you're missing a couple of capital letters and some punctuation. You also have a spelling to fix. Please write out 'seen' 3 times and see me at break.

Damn right mate, as a teacher for 18yrs, I'm hating this period of time. I love school holidays but i need to be teaching now for the sake of their future, as well as their health along with my health.
