Harehills is an absolute ****hole and a proper melting pot, like driving through Beruit, can't see the big deal other than then fire, it's like this most weeks. The area itself is a proper melting pot, streets dominated by Africans, Jamaicans, Asians and Eastern Europeans areas, always kicking off, take a look down the streets (if you dare). All the houses have bars over the windows and security doors, metal fencing, it's mad. All I can say is when you drive through there is always an atmosphere. Add drugs and all of the usual it's a bit special to say the least. Extra locking wheel nuts, head down and hope when you drive through there lol

Pretty much. Trust me, it's a proper ****hole. It has unique cultures in each area driven by the residents. Up the road is Roundhay and a few other leafy suburbs, some exclusive, I bet the residents there love it

I am in agreement with you to a point, if you look at this as an example it's shockingly poor, a melting pot that thrives on crime and violence driven by drugs etc. not something you would expect or want to see in the UK

Which brings me on to Bradford town centre. The town hall is a proper old elegant stone building with amazing architecture and around it they have tidied it up. The surrounding area, again, is a proper **** hole, run down, because as life was in this area does not appeal to the people who frequent it now, it's a run down ****hole with virtually nothing there, disgraceful to see really and becoming a sign of the times.

It's the people in these communities that are driving this culture sadly, it's how they choose to live. What was is not now. The days of a working couple with kids and ambition, aiming to have their own house and bring their kids up in a decent area is becoming a pipe dream. Most decent people have had to move out of these areas to try and do so. It then becomes a free for all, shops closing etc etc. you can drive out of town to a supermarket or shop at Ali's bazaar, the vape shop or the Polish store. I am saying that as a joke but the reality is, there is a pattern

I don't think it comes down to race or colour, it's more simple than that.

There will always be those who want what others have and if they can get it for free by whatever means necessary they will. They will lie through their teeth to get a foot hold and once in will fleece the system for everything it has to offer.

Our 'system' is not set up for this 'as is' let alone for additional burden with uncontrolled migration, which is what we have.

We have to accept the inevitable, it will not change, it will get worse. Taxes have to go up to maintain any semblance of social service and as I said to 1 of my friends near 10 years ago the NHS cannot survive as it is.

Mal mentioned going to Hungary, its actually a sensible suggestion, any eastern European destination, or Asian. Your money will go a lot further than it will here. I looked into retirement homes in Thailand, 10k a year, bungalow, all inc, day trips out, health care Inc. The average 200k house here would get you 20 years all in.

The 1st thing the Labour energy minister did within a week, against his own ministers advice, scrapped the tories new drilling licences in the north sea. In his own words it will make us reliant on volatile worldwide markets for decades to come with no viable green alternative in place. He also admitted use of fossil fuels would barely change during this period.
Effectively, a labour government, the peoples party has just screwed the people every winter for years to come.

And so we enter another cycle of yo yo Britain, labour unleash the purse, the tories give us austerity, and in the matrix we live in we're made to think there's a choice

I believe race is a factor and a major one (dare I say it!!!)

These communities that I mention below are multi race and their cultures dominate the area, as I mentioned Polish shops with Polish orientated goods, the Asian community and their preferences so race is definitely a factor, they make their places and communities like their homeland and that's a fact so it is race related

Could say the same for us Brits in Spain with our British bars and the need for English breakfasts and pie and chips. and a good piss up, that's our culture. And then we wonder why we are getting squirted with water pistols lol. The Spanish don't like it, it's disruptive to their way of life.

When 'wanting what others have' equates to a basic standard of living that is perpetually out of reach because of a system that discriminates against the poorest in society...

People - of every colour and culture- are fighting to survive. Meanwhile politicians reward themselves and their cronies with ever increasing financial disparity. The foothold isn't something that people should have to lie to be able to reach. Stop blaming those that are being held down and look at who is really reaping the 'benefits'. No cap on bankers bonuses, but a 2 child benefit cap. It's the people who own the big boats that are bleeding you dry, not those who arrive in small ones.

As for basic amenities or rights, you can't just bugger off to another country, or as is happening apparently now you can, because your entitled for some unknown reason.

@Scozza, yes there are secular towns now full of foreigners. Note I call them foreigners as they have absolutely no intention of integrating, obeying the laws of the land and little respect for amenities they haven't contributed to historically. In other countries they'd be made to live in the mess they create, not in Eurooe though, that'd be discrimination, probably try the race card there too. I agree we have a problem with disparity, yes the rich are getting richer and for some of them cheap imported labour is one way of achieving that, and it's the likes ofus that pay into the benefits system so that the badly paid get benefits to make ends meet.

The rich have enough money not too worry about allowing uncontrolled immigration, but we can't carry on allowing economic migrants into the country.
And let's face it, some of them come from countries with completely different cultures and laws and don't want to integrate.

It's a sad state of affairs that people who can see the way this country is going with their own eyes are deemed racists by people wearing rose tinted spectacles. Won't be that long before people are fleeing this country at the rate it's going.

There are some interesting thoughts for sure.

Dare I say it they are a lot of like minded people in these communities who are prepared to accept what they get. There will be some entrepreneurs who have got out by whatever means, right or wrong.

To be successful in the UK you need to be able to hold a job down or be self employed but ultimately be able to earn a living to pay your way in life. As some one mentioned below I am more than happy to support the unfortunate such as the disabled, it's what makes this country great. However, as also mentioned there are two many people black or white folks who just want to sit on their arses and moan about how bad it is. If they have the capability to work they need to get out there and do so. We are at a distinct advantage in this country due to the fact anybody can get a free education and can then get opportunities, it's how it works over here, if you can't get in that cycle then you get what you get sadly because that's our culture unfortunately. There are systems in place though for if you can't get a job, not ideal but it can pay your way in life, another thing that's great about this country, used them myself a couple of times in my life

I for one would just like to sit on my arse, go fishing all week and do what I like but that does not pay for the lifestyle I want to live so as **** as it is I have to work to do something about it

I call racism when I see it. Unlike most on here it's a daily issue for me and my family and I don't give a **** about calling people out on it because they need to be told. If people don't like being called racist then the easiest option is to not post racist comments. Simple.

You have absolutely hit the nail on the head, pre covid and Brexit we had a massive eastern European workforce, everyone complaining about them "taking our jobs", yeah the jobs the work shy, unemployed and lazy didn't want.

Post Covid massive shortage of staff across many industries such as transport, manufacturing and agriculture, why? 1.5 million eastern europeans left, thats why.

Now those same jobs are being filled with the next generation, mainly Africans and Asians and I'll tell you from my experience, they are far more reliable, hard working and appreciative of the work than the majority of the work shy brits claiming their benefits and applying for jobs they have no intention of taking.

I've been in the recruitment game 24 years and it's never changed and never will.

I think the term racist is a wide scale from 1-100., it's all open to misinterpretation and personal interpretation. It's a fact though these areas are driven by the culture of the people that live there and it's the way they choose to live. Put them all together like in Harehills and it really is a site to see, it could exploded at any time and often does.

As for the 20 year old in the supermarket, that will almost definitely will be the result of a pattern drawn from experience. Crime is rife in a lot of communities. People have unconscious bias as well as conscious and the former is from a pattern of learning, experience.

I've seen more info than is in the public domain around the airport incident.

Safe to say two things - the copper will get the book thrown at him. The parties who were arrested will in all probability end up doing a custodial sentence for what happened immediately before the video was recorded.

The clip that was released was one version of the events... CCTV (the airport is covered in it) and the police body cams will show a more balanced view

I've said that the context - the two men in the video plus the wider context of the reports into the institutional racism in our police forces - makes it look so.

That doesn't mean every individual officer. Of course it doesn't.

However, taking into account those factors you'd have to admit it looks more likely than the absolute denial of any possible prejudice. And pretty naive to state as an absolute that there's no racial bias there.

After Stephen Lawrence, Rodney King, Ricardo Dos Santos, Sonya Massey, Nicole Smallman and Bibaa Henry (to name just a few), the image of the police is really tarnished in relation to race. This assault cannot be seen in a vacuum and 'it would've happened even if he was white' is absolutely no defence.

The man's family have spoken out to try and diffuse the anger about it. The force have reported it to the IOPC. Let's hope it gets resolved.

If you want to know why an institutionally racist organisation doesn't always prosecute its own for ... racist behaviour then you really do need to give your head a shake.

The large scale investigation reports are very thorough and clear. The follow up action is of course totally inadequate because it's the broken system policing itself.

I know some coppers too. And some ex coppers. And I can tell you that there's a mix of decent people - one ex copper who gives up his time for youth and community projects - and some who more than meet the criteria for racist / homophobic / outright nasty.

As i said earlier... there are two side to the story and the CCTV will always give a better picture then someone using a phone and editing to suit a agenda.

Looks like the "victim" of the first video has assaulted 3 police officers, obstructed officers in line of duty, and committed a potential GBH offence to one of the officers in the process. Have you actually watched the more recent footage?

Where you can see that the man who has his head kicked and stamped on is very clearly tasered before falling face down and immobilised.?

The attack on the officers is horrible. They should and I expect will be prosecuted - because that's the law. Prosecution, not retribution.

There's still more to come in terms of why the first man is approached in the first place. From this, there is nothing that warrants the initial contact. I expect that will come out in the investigation and report.

All that said, for me, this just adds to the improper action of the officer who can absolutely see that the taser has done its job in incapacitating the man before he kicks and stamps on him. Being 'wound up' is absolutely no excuse. He's a public servant and is expected to uphold the law. Thousands of good police officers manage to do it every day.

I think history has a lot to do with it, it's where we are today, now. A typical one that really pisses coppers off, when arrested, is it because I'm black, no its because you have been a **** and knifed, assaulted somebody or beat a woman up etc. etc. People don't get involved in such situations for nothing and the biggest downside is denial or no sense of reality for their actions, key point being their actions. I've never said but my grandfather was black and my Nan was white.
He was raised in Hulme and she Hebburn.

They met in the 2nd world war, he worked as a cook on a ship,I can't recall what she did.
After the war they got married and moved down south and had a long happy life.
They both passed away over 20 years ago.
I can honestly say (i and my sister) spent a lot of time together with them on countless holidays with them as kids, I can't recall any racist incidents or stop & searches or any oypther indifference and they were around till my early 30s.

If I see political ‘ activists' using underhand tactic to infiltrate well known or political bodies to exert undue influence ( think RSPCA, BMA, Local Government, Local Planning Authorities, and now even the judiciary) to use their narrow views to control others then I automatically refute them.

But what I absolutely abhor, truly abhor, with absolute conviction, is those with deep rooted biased views who hold positions of influence who teach our children and are free to plant their poisoned, often warped personal views in young fertile minds.

Totally agree about the culture, that's why I mentioned Bradford town hall and the centre earlier in the thread. They are not interested in our culture or way of life and create their own, their values are different, that's why it's a **** hole, run down, nothing there, not nice to see at all. The council have pumped money in to try and develop it but it ain't attracting the people it is aimed at, like a ghost town because these people have probably moved away as a whole.

My aunty and uncle used to live in Heckmonwike near Dewsbury and Bradford. As a kid we used to visit them it was a really nice residential area. I can remember there was uproar at the time because an Asian family moved in on their street, it's how it was back then. After a few years they were the last British couple on their street before moving out. The whole area is now an Asian community and it's fair to say it's turned into a **** hole. They do not value what you could call traditional English life, all the houses and gardens used to be immaculate, you could have called it a leafy suburb, the working man and their family's populated the area, now it's another run down area with an explosion of all the usual shops which appeals to their culture, not to mention all of the takeaways which are know for laundering money. It's not nice to see if I'm honest, it's like they have no sense of pride but that is probably not the case, it's just not their way of life or culture

That's why Harehills is a site to see, it's like a mixture of micro communities all in one!

Lots more protesting this weekend will be interesting to see how long it continues from what I've seen they look like normal people on the whole just fed up with the governments failure to get a grip on the illegal immigration'.

I remember the amount of damage done with the BLM riots a few years back.

I never thought Starmer would get in, but you know the more this goes on I can see support for Farage growing.

Gangs of Muslims ( MDL ) roaming around attacking anyone with machetes and knives. Two blokes severely injured in hammer attacks. A 15 year old lad stabbed which they then celebrated. Number of other stabbings. Women in bad condition having been struck on the head with a tile. No stabbings reported according to police reports. Coppers were there on the spot when the hammer attacks happened. They stood there and did nowt even though they had the opportunity to nick em. They kept backing away from any Muslims yet attacked all others. Two tier policing, two tier governance, from two tier kier. Can see this only getting worse. Won't be long before the guns come out.
Can't see Starmer lasting anymore than 18 months, can't see Liebour doing a full term either.

I think you raise a very valid point there. Why would we, anybody who genuinely wanted support because they were being genuinely persecuted in their country we would support, we have historically. I, as the majority that I talk to and read about, I am sick to the back teeth of all these free loaders rolling up for an easy ride.

Heres where I will get called a racist because I am proud to be British. I am very fortune to live in this great country. This country has been shaped by our for fathers, historically and our heritage whether right or wrong, it's what they did as a nation for us and I respect that because it has given me a good quality of life because I am fortunate to live her. I don't want anybody rolling up from other country's sponging what's ours or what was created for us, our way of life, the same as others wouldn't in their countries, it's disrespectful. You have to work for what you get, it's a land of opportunity, that's our culture, not just choose to rock up here because you might get a free ride. People want to come here for one reason, an easy life with benefits

Said it before, anybody who is in the system and has been a tax payer or their parents have should be entitled to all benefits, if you roll up here you should get virtually nothing until you have made a contribution and then you should get incremental increases, unless it's by exception as previously mentioned. It's got to the point it's one big piss take and that's what is grinding people, it's a free for all

Daughters just told me, on social media they are all rioting outside a local holiday in because it's full of migrants, it's not the migrants faults but I can see why it grinds people. There are a LOT of hotels around me that are full of migrants and they are killing it (£) but it's also killing the tax payer. People can see this and it's just another percent of frustration. Something will have to give because it is not going away, it's quite the opposite

Can I ask the left wing pro immigration apologists on this platform what are the numbers regarding the population where you will draw the line before it affects peoples general quality of life?( that's if it hasn't already been reached of course ) there must be an accepted limit to how many people this and many other countries can comfortably cope with. And it's not a simple case of building more housing, hospitals, schools etc....
The racism issue is not going away, it's been there for decades and will continue to fester but I kind of get sick of hearing about the ‘far right', I read somewhere recently about the countryside being racist, and not diverse enough, what the f**k is that about? There is nothing stopping people of all colours, races and cultures from driving out into and spending time in the countryside yet it is ‘too white', in fact there was an episode recently where there was conflict at a beauty spot between groups of non indigenous peoples, now I'm sure things like this happen between people that are described as white Anglo Saxon but I spend a lot of time in the countryside and I have to say I don't see it.
Last Wednesday there was a parade through central London organised by the Muslim community that virtually shut down the West End, with little or no notice it just happened, no riot cops appeared there as there often are for what people would describe as patriotic marches, now I condemn the idiots that do cause trouble but having riot cops on standby is often incendiary and can provoke some of these idiots into causing trouble, strangely I never see these squads of riot cops attempting to kettle pro Palestinian marches, which are almost a weekly occurance now since last October

Similar thought to me Henry. Sadly at the moment the mongs are trying to capitalise on the recent events and create a divide. Let's hope the majority can see through this and we makes some useful changes to our policies, and quickly, moving forward, I can see no other way forward other than all these mongs stirring up hatred, causing criminal damage and hurting a lot of innocent people along the way. It has the potential to turn very very nasty if nothing gets addressed soon. As usual, left too late and not addressed when it should have been, it is not a sustainable situation and that is throughout Europe too

Well Chris I think it's time for some honest politics which I am sure we won't get with the incumbent Labour government, I think flip flop Starmer who says what he thinks will make him popular will soon start to realise its harder to govern than to criticise from the opposition benches, promises of building 1.5 million homes a year and 40,000 extra GP appointments a week are as much Blarney as BoJo's promise of building 40 hospitals and built on sand, and I have to say that the usually gobby DP Rayner is conspicuous by her absence and lack of comments, odd that🤔
Honest politics aren't popular but I think unless we get some soon then the house is going to get burnt down, metaphorically speaking hopefully!
It's kind of strange though that I read an article twenty or so years ago that stuck with me that predicted mass migration from poorer war ridden unviably economic states/ countries will cause huge problems for Western nations, I wish I had kept it to refer to but in an ever over populated world it appears to be coming true!
