Hi guys , I've just sent my third TXI D back for repair and have decided that's enough of the Delkims for me now . I'm really out of the loop with carp fishing gear nowadays and was wondering what alarms people are using for reliability, quality and performance. Cost isn't really a factor just want something that's works well. Thanks

Carp Sounder are the best alarms , designed and manufactured in Germany , they are super reliable , however no one on here will admit that the British bite alarm companies have been overtaken by Ze Germans.
Look at the Age one.

I'm not an alarm specialist and you'll definitely get a lot of replies that will make your list longer to narrow down.
My best advice is start to narrow down the features you want and find an alarm that meets your needs:
* Normal Battery OR Rechargeable?
* Simple tone / sensitivity / volume OR extra features from an app?
Etc etc

Fox RX, does everything, not just Carp fishing, ie vibration for Pike etc.
Fox RX+, Rumour on here pre Christmas was there's a newer version coming out soon as the design is already being sold by other Chinese outlets very cheaply, search the forum for RX+ 👍 a few on here bought them too.

I have 2 sets od Carp sounder bite alarms (old serie SUPER IT) . Since 2015 I don't have any trouble with them in ALL weather conditions-rain,snowing, freezing and hot temperatures,they never missed a beat. Quite simple functions but so reliable. My next set will be their last model -Age one. I was never thinking about Delkim,Nash or Fox bite alarms and in the last 10 years od use it was my best decision.
Carp Sounder have just released the Age Pro. Does look like the ultimate roller wheel alarm but no UK distribution and once you factor importing them the cost is a little OTT.
Sold my delk d's and bought ecu's and love them.

Agree with you but for me (in EU) is very affordable price for non Pro model (300€ for 3+1 Set), and that model have everything what any angler need on the bank.

Thanks for the different suggestions guys ,some decent bits of kit there. Will probably buy the carp sounder ones as they have certain features I'm looking for and you can buy them through Pecheur at a very affordable price 👍

RX+ doesn't have vibration sensing. Solid alarms though. I've had a set since they came out and they have never missed a beat, which is more than I can say for my Delkim Txi 's
Mind you, the Delks were great, as long as you didn't fish in anything like damp conditions.

Had original Txi and now had TXi plus for around 8 years with no problems in any conditions.
Had Fox DXR around 20 odd years ago and they were great alarms, don't know why I got rid of them.

I am in the same boat . Just too many gripes with the new Delkim's for me . I thought about it for a while but for me it was an easy choice to go with the fox rx plus alarms . I know lots who use them
Had same problems with txid so went to fox rx+ they were just as bad on off switch stopped working on all off them after guarantee expired. Thing I will go back to washing up liquid tops
Problem is you'll get issues with them all. Just got to hope you get a lucky set

Or if the alarms have a good battery life something like the clear car PPF film to wrap the alarms. There must be some way to prevent or slow moisture down. Bar the company's use better seals or waterproof methods.
Speakers must be one way condensation and the likes gets into alarms.

Same. Tried them all down the years and within 18 months one or more issues. The only totally reliable alarm is the ATTs.

I'm always surprised by threads on alarms. Most of the time we're expecting a fairly clear indication of a bit given we're using hair rigs 99% of the time. So as long as an alarm doesn't break in the rain and you can adjust sensitivity/sound a little to your preference I'm not sure what spending more gets you?
Fox Micron X does the job for me, £175 for 3 with receiver. Different tone for drop backs, choice of sounds/sensitivity/LED colour. Job done.

I've had ATTs , not bad Alarms but found on more then one occasion the line trapped on the end of the roller wheel.

I only wished they still made the original Optonics that you got converted with a GPO speaker by Les Bamford. I can tell you this alarm went through years of carp and pike fishing in all weather extremes and never missed a beat , In fact I know the Alarms I purchased in the early 80s would be still working to this Day.

@ Monkeypox post 2, I don't think it's anyhting to do with that personally. You'll see a lot of recs for Edwards ECU on here but they're not what I would call a mass selling main stream alarm in the U.K, probably for the same reasons, whatever they may be, marketing, trend etc.
My experiences with Carp lounge sending boats to Germany has put me off buying from European based brands that don't have a presence in the U.K for warranty service and Fox now not offering servicing or repair is making me seriously consider not using them for the future too....joy.

@vossy: I think you might be getting confused with ACE i3 alarms that I have praised so much in the past... I never did bother getting Wolf alarms

I've still got my optonics, tucked away in the garage. I ended up with stainless mounts and carp ears. Pretty sure it was a 9v battery but I can't remember, I wished they had a remote sounder box I got fed up with the wires being a trip hazard 😂

He can indeed. I was chatting to him earlier in the week, said I'd get a new set of old RX if I could and he said don't limit yourself to just RX as he could convert the SXV.
I've decided to go the Wolf QI route and I'm really looking forward to it. I love the idea they're made in the U.K and are basically a modern RX. Im also not bothered if they're slightly larger than norm.Total of 4 year warranty, their customer service appears excellent, and by the time that's up hopefully the new Fox alarm will have been tested by Joe public. Daletronics said they can service the Qi either way, if anything happens to Wolf or they breakdown.
Angling direct have the 4 set Qi with QR receiver for £529, though I bought the 3 + Hubb for the same price. At that price, especially the 4 set I just had to give them a go. I know Outlaw Pro did mine @ £399 not long ago....ho hum.

depends where you order from, but they have english instructions on the website. if you do decide to get them make sure you order the longer threads, they're stupidly short and if the threads in the bars are slightly recessed you'll get maybe 1 turn of the alarm with a bobbin. i ended up having some made...
