Well the mice have had mi fox all season had it years and even though heavy what a bag so mi question is there anything on market that's like it must be good to. Minus and roomy think the fox all season ventec was about a meter wide what's similar

Got the fox ventec xl and it brilliant. Warmest and most roomiest bag ive ever owned.

Trakker 365 is toasty

Another Ventec user, it's a stupidly warm bag. My only critique, because it's so well padded it can be hard to keep it folded back away from your head and the zip runs rest on my face/head, very annoying! Mine is the older version and some folk critique it's shear size is a negative.

had one of these for years. Almost too comfy and toasty. Its not a small lump to lug around but it does the job.

Top of a mountain, in winter.

I found the Fox Ventec too bulky, so for the last few years I've used a Gardner Carp Duvet and the matching cover on particularly cold nights, I've used it through some very cold nights and been fine, including a week December 2022 when it was -5 and -7 for several days, if it wasn't for the lake being so deep it would frozen over.
I rarely zippped the door down and don't use bivvy heaters

I suffer with the cold nowadays and bought the Trakker 365.......seriously warm bag and very well made with elasticated ends to keep it on the bed and it also covers your head and shoulders......

The new ventec is a lot more compact than the first one as that was huge. The new one is slightly more compact than the gardner carp duvet plus as i replaced my gardner bag with the ventec xl. Fox is warmer and material feel much better.

Hi Stuart, yes I had the original Ventec, it was huge that's for sure. been happy with the carp duvet, it's had a lot of use though so I'll probably be looking for a replacement fairly soon.

I've heard it's one of the best. Like the slight mummy shape to it . Less space to warm up. It's a shame Wychwood stopped making it.

You have a drawstring at the top to keep ypur head warm.

They still popup now and then, ive got 2 which i just pick up off Facebook marketplace if they ever come up.

They were a cross over bag weren't they. Taking some of the attributes of an outdoor sleeping bag but adapting it for us anglers.. Will have to keep an eye out on the second hand market. Only ever heard good things about them.

Don't know if it's been mentioned, and also not sure if you can still buy them new but the cyprinus magmatex is another bag that gets great reviews.

I have the nash 5 season sleep system nice and warm. But my orginal trakker big Z peachskin is mega hot. But never now used

If mummy style is what you like, I had 2 of the British Army Arctic sleeping bags before a Original Gardner Carp Duvet and now 1st gen vented. The BAA are very good but in the days of 2 leg bedchairs there were too many 'offs' for me liking ....not a bag fault but even so, give me a full length/ 3/4crash zip any time
On the plus side they did fit in a washing machine, the original Ventec is almost as big as one 🤣

Liked the 365 when I had one but wouldn't look past the fortis snukpak, kept me snuggly even when lake has frozen solid

I must be getting soft in my old age as I was cold in my fortis bag in october. Sold it and bought the fox ventec and much warmer but its bigger than the fortis but not an issue as goes on a barrow.

Same for me, didn't think the bag was warm at all, would never have classed it as a 5 season bag.

Like the look of the Fortis bag for compactness. But it's always worried me that how something so compact can be classed as a 5 season bag. It's all about the loft in the material for warmth. So for something to be classed as 5 season it needs a lot of loft. So the bag is going to be big.

I no Gerry ( rest his soul) rated the Fortis bag very highly.

I moved over from the ventec to the fortis and am yet to take it out. The size difference is astounding and I laid out in the living room in it and it heats up incredibly quickly compared to the ventec, it is much smaller so much more like being in a sleeping bag than I bed which I liken the ventec to.

I should be out this weekend in it so it should be a good test with this cold weather coming.

Has anyone got the new Trakker 365 Camo ?
I like the look of the extra room for your feet, being 6'4” I fill most bags so laying stretched out can be uncomfortable on the feet

If its below zero I would take a cover too,I love my fortis bag but I've now put a snugpak jungle blanket between the layers of the bag.It certainly helps give the extra warmth that might be needed by some

I find the Fortis/Snupak bag to be plenty warm enough throughout the winter with the top layer on. Wasn't much of a test last winter as it didn't get that cold, but previous to that did many sub zero nights and never felt cold.

The Snupak insulation is very good. It heats up quickly and retains the heat well without the bulk of the fishing brands. Same goes for the SJ9 jacket, really really warm and packs down small.

Cheaper than a bedchair cover,more uses too.I sit outside with mine wrapped around me and then fold it up and pop it between the two layers of the bag.It works perfectly and makes the bag even warmer

Well happy with my fox ventec, got it last year, think it was end of the line version as got it cheap from outlaw pro and not sure if newer versions have been released.

I have a snugpak techlite ,I like it ,works well ..

A little mention ,I don't keep mine in a bedchair ,nor in the supplied compression bag .
I bought the snugpak 40 litre 'Air escape 'dry bag this is because I don't want to get it wet ,nor do I wish to damage the loft properties of the bag by keeping it tightly stuffed or rolled up

The dry bag allows the techlite to expand when opened ,thus safeguarding the loft ..it was a good purchase that dry bag.

Add a Snugpak fleece liner (£40) to most half decent sleeping bags and you have a 5 season without the bulk and expense. I leave mine inside the sleeping bag and it adds no bulk whatsoever.

Yep do exactly the same with my techlite bag it lives in a non compressed 40ltr long dry bag. So much better in my opinion than a standard stuff sac. I only compress it down for short periods when transporting to or from the lake

I ordered the Trakker it was delivered yesterday, must say I'm impressed.
It fits my Solar bed very well, I really like the way it attaches to the bed.
Very easy to swap the inner bag round, I prefer the silky side, I'm a big bugger and find the fleecy side sticks a bit so is a pain when you roll over.

Obviously the real test will be out on the bank in the cold, but hopefully be out for a session soon.

Reviving this again fellas, looking ahead for the colder months. Is the 365 still up there with the best, or anything similar price that anyone really rates? The extra foot room sounds like a good one for me as also feel restricted with my current older Trakker 3-season bag.

fox ventec as for winter for me, super toasty and i like that it pull all the way up over my head to the top of the bed if you want to...reversible so can have fleece or smooth lining inside..great bit of kit and really rate it.

The 365 was a game changer for me, I have fished in temperatures down to -5 and was still nice and warm, and that's under a brolly. As said by others, swap the lining around to the silky side. It seems enormous when you first get it but you will get used to it.

I have a sundridge air lock heat control bag, a proper winter bag!
It has a middle layer so it can be used the rest of the year without melting you!
It's quite bulky so it hasn't been used since I got it.
I will stick it in the classified 👀

Recently treated myself to the Trakker Oval Sleep System. Gets it first outing this weekend and have already taken out the extra layer. Dont think ill need the extra heat just yet but does look like its gonna be very warm come winter.

Hi mate what is the foot room like on the xl version please have the solar sp-c tech sleep system mk2 the bag is nice but being 6ft 3” and size 13 feet my feet go right to the bottom of the bag and are compressed the foot room is crap proper irritates me
