Really? I think that Rich is a great interviewer and has an encyclopaedic knowledge of different carp and venues.

I agree he has depth of knowledge on all things carp, history and venues etc but I agree with the op, for the same reasons you've mentioned I stopped listening to the korda podcast a long time ago,always searching for that answer that's not there,trying to probe for more info that's not relevant and getting the person to elaborate on things that have run their course in the interview..but I did like Simon Pitt and they're worlds apart. I know others didn't like Simon.

I think this whole video thing has gone like the magazines did when they started struggling for decent material and it was new made up rigs and how to to tie a pva bag. Never thought that much of Cyp in the first place they've done a few decent interviews but always felt it was like the Elliot Gray show, me me me. Line aligner split shot pop up rig named after him, someone else's buzz bars named after him. I suppose he is from Essex what do you expect

I agree with all of that apart from the "he's from Essex so what do you expect" comment, the vast majority of people from Essex are nothing like Elliott. Don't forget Joe is also from Essex and is, in my experience, way more likeable.

Iv sent another email to cyp to stop my payments , as there is no simple way like carpfix 🤔. Iv now cancelled both , and will just watch Joe and PayPal money over to him . The subscription market is going to get silly now with Tom Maker doing just the same , it's only Joe's that is slightly different.

I've been a subscriber of Cyp/Carpfix since pretty much the beginning. I have this morning cancelled memberships for both.
CarpFix especially I feel is no longer worth the money. Members were originally subscribing to “one in-session, one carp tales and one technical piece” by Darrell each month. He soon got a lot of other anglers on board to take most of these pieces from him... I'd already paid a years subscription at this point. Appreciate doing it himself may have been more work than he'd anticipated however what it is now is not really what I subscribed to.
Used to love the carp tales from Car Park/Fen Drayton etc. Sadly these are getting less frequent these days. An in session piece on B1 which spans two different parts/months isn't the differentiator that I thought CarpFix was intended to be.

That's exactly my view too what about the people who fish waters other than syndicates etc as it all gets very samey,and it's the same with magazines(what's left of them even though I do like Carpology)it's all fishing lakes catch on this,try this rig don't do this etc if your an angler who fishes different to everyone else it gets boring reading or watching stuff as it's all the same nowadays

I can't doubt his knowledge but whenever he interviews, he talks far too much and puts his knowledge across. That imo isn't what he is there for. Hassan who does the nash podcasts has a much more natural style that gets better results, as did Simon on the old korda equivalent

Dave Lane's stuff is definitely worth the £6 a month in my opinion, he's an excellent story teller and doesn't take himself too seriously which is a bit of a rarity in modern carp fishing! There's also been barely any advertising or technical stuff in there, it's just Dave telling stories with a few photos and a bit of video thrown in. I'm probably a couple of months behind at the moment but it's been a good watch so far. If you've liked his books you'll like this I reckon.

I would honestly rather give Joe Morgan a few quid a month so that he can keep producing the stuff that he does.
I've been down the route of paying various monthly subscriptions, and found that I was looking forward to Carp Angle every month more than I was the stuff I was paying for.
Joe is one of life's good guys as well, so I'd much rather give my money to him than to anyone else, and let's be honest, Cypography in particular has peaked and is on a downward spiral now in my opinion.

Bet the below will all have a constant turnover of subscribers, it'll be hard for them to keep it fresh forever, and then the new next “big thing” comes along. And id bet if most of us could a: be arsed to do all the work involved, b: could actually get enough people to subscribe, and c: had thick enough skins for all the criticism, we would.

It's a least different, plenty of opportunity for doing something different with multi species. Just depends if a big enough audience willing to pay for it in these carp dominated times.
I certainly enjoy the variety and there does seem to be lots of carp anglers who at least do some river fishing over the winter etc.

Funny how getting a sponsorship with Nash completely tanks the amount of content you put out. I understand people have to earn a few quid, or in some cases save money by having your bait and tackle provided for, however it seems a few have had Nash's tentacles smother them, so they are no longer providing anywhere near the content they once were. Seems counter intuitive for the company.

There should be absolutely no reason why multiple magazines bite the dust in the biggest participation sport in the country, yet train enthusiasts have access to far more publications than we do. How can they survive but angling magazines cannot?

There's enough free content on Youtube without needing to subscribe to these channels.
If all these pay monthly subscription channels were to offer me £5 per month to watch all their content, I'm still not sure which I'd subscribe too.

I can't see me ever subscribing to anything again. I re subbed to cypography for the underwater stuff, but I found that all a bit boring. And there's only so many times I can watch Jim shelly cook edis of Ealing sausages, or the lovely times man have lovely times.
Good luck to Carpangle, I hope he does well. But I never watched it when it was free, not sure why I just found it a bit depressing to watch. I occasionally think about giving it ago watching again, then see the episode is like an hour 45. Surely they would have more success breaking it down into 30 min episodes and releasing them more regularly?

100%. The pastime is been raped and pillaged all for self promotion and greed, all these people care about is where the next £ comes from regardless of the impact on the pastime, milked to death

I don't see the problem to be honest, and strongly disagree the people offering these fee-paying channels are somehow immoral!
As I have jokingly pointed out, the top anglers have always tried to "monetise their hobby", be it in bait or tackle firms, or more specifically in the media (obviously should allow you to actually fish more...).
Personally I joined Cypography for the Car Park lake film with Terry, Nigel and Lewis. I have watched the underwater films and some of the Euro stuff as I live in France and obviously want to sheep up Jim Shelly (joke...). I don't like the fact that you can't cancel your subscription on their site/app, and the app needs a bit of work, but all in all I do think the Cypography stuff is worth paying for, the content is quite varied and overall, interesting. I will cancel now though as I just don't have time to watch enough films for it to be wothwhile for me, as pointed out there are a lot of excellent free films out there produced by the tackle and bait companies.

When you get a reply saying it's cancelled, don't believe it. Make sure you either try to cancel with bank (it's a recurring card payment, so can be difficult) or request a new debit/credit card so the details won't match.

Thank god for choices, and thats your opinion. I don't subscribe to one and never will but that's my choice. I can't recall the former mentioned having channels to subscribe to either
