Each to his own, it's the Urban Banx label / style.
I quite like it but I like calmer ones too.

The Q rings are really good, fine with leadcore / leadfree and a normal bead, much easier to take the swivel on and off than a normal split ring. It's just that the Q bit seem to get stuck on the cone shaped protective bit on the naked chod leader beads I like to use - would no doubt still fly off and up the line on hitting the water but can't be certain...
Not that easy to find suitable black / dull normal split rings, but they do exist - Decoy lure brand I think.

I use a split ring or Gardner Q ring on the fluro or leadcore leader respectively (Q ring is easier but gets stuck on naked chod beads), then a ring swivel with the chod tied to the ring. Ends up as a double ring swivel with the QR aspect but stronger (still get nervous with crook type swivels...silly I know but I can't help it).
Gives a cm or so to suck up and also negates the need for the pukka ESP swivels as all the rings give plenty of freedom to spin.

Did a double take at the title of a recent film from one of the "full timer crowd" : read it as "The Grifter" initially, but no, not quite...

This does'nt sound like it should work, but it really does.
Just make sure you're ready for drop-backs!

My understanding is that the "don't blow air in" idea is for inflatable pads with down insulation - as down does not perform as well if its soggy. I didnt think it applied to SIMs with cellular foam structures.
As to whether the soggy down theory is really a thing or a myth - I don't know. I'm not even sure how much more moist breath is compared to the ambient air - I guess that depends on if you had to set up your brolly before your bedchair ot not...

If you don't have a boat, I would suggest aiming for smaller gravel pits or canals/smaller rivers.
The bigger waters will be hard without a boat, especially over 3/4 days.
Even medium-sized public pits are less suited to bank-only fishing, just because the swims are much more spaced out.

Yes, makes it more streamlined and goes through the rings better

Mahin is good as stated, but I now use an FG knot after learning it for lure fishing.
Even thinner/smoother profil as there is no knot in the fluoro => good for thicker 0.50 mm plus leaders if you are using it for abrasion resistance.
PS, this is with braided mainline, wouldn't use an FG with mono.
