Ive used ATTs for years and still love them and they have never never let me down. However I see less of them on the banks nowadays and they are starting to feel a bit dated. I try to help it but I can't, my eyes are wandering with a 20 year itch. I like the simplicity they give me so would only ever want simple but itch and itch I do.

Had TXi's got RX+'s but still miss my ATT's, absolute classics in my view. I wouldnt waste your money if they stilll go bleep.

I left mine 200 miles away when I had a very very bad split with an ex partner nearly 9 years ago so lost everything £5k worth of gear so had to start again and got delkims and never looked backed

What a nightmare, I'd have had to have gone back or got my gear out before it went south. She will have flogged all that and took a trip to the Maldives. Disaster.

Having got together once with such a kind lady i couldn't believe my luck as she gave me £5k worth of gear. Couldn't believe my luck either as the alarms were far superior to the delkims.

I use ATT's. One of the Gardner chaps was fishing / filming at the same lake as me a couple of months ago, saw the ATT's and commented how rare it is to see them. I too have had them for a very long time; and just recently replaced the backs - which had cracked - the screws, gasket, etc. Like new, for about £20. You just can't fault it. Of all the tackle that has come and gone over the years, the ATT's are the only bit of kit that I have never felt the need to change.

It's a long story and it was a nasty relationship at times and I quit it as she was a drinker with a lot of issues,now in a happier place with all my gear I need and a lovely lady and step kids
But back on topic the atts alarms are Great had them go in river a few times when on the itchen and come out ok may best mate has a set and he loves them

Been there, done that, my first Mrs took to drinking after Post Natal depression and is now not even able to have a conversation as it has totally taken her mind.

Got a set of ATTS alarms i use on the river barbel fishing and love them.
Carp fishing i use the original Delkim TXI alarms which do everything i want. But actually thinking of changing to a set of ATTS as i love the simplicity of them and how compact they are.

Thanks mate no one sees the other side of it that men can go through stuff with the women being the aggressor normally it's the man but I went through a lot of **** back then had to make a break and things got left behind not just fishing related,I had to leave my 2 Staffies there who always came with me it was heartbreaking 💔 and i still think about them now 8.5 years on,her I have no feelings for I DO feel sorry for her as she had issues before I met her(domestic violence and an attempted rape)but that's it.
I urge anyone man or women never to go through things like that go and seek help
ATT's if I had the opportunity to buy them again I would my friend rated them highly and also think of it like this if not many are using them isn't it nice to be different

You said it mate been bought up with them all my life my moms got a rescue one who's 11 years old(we think) and she thinks she's a puppy still and also I think we got the one that's just completely nuts,not stupid just nuts these dogs are one of the most intelligent dogs around.

I'd stick with them, often think about changing my alarms but then remind myself that as long as they are reliable and beep I really don't need anything else from them.

Recently bought a set of ATTS second hand as I was trying to cut down on weight and fancied a change. Been an avid Delkim user most of my carp fishing life. Lovely alarms haven't let me down at all.. impressed... and as the OP has already mentioned you don't see a lot of them about.. is another reason why I fancied a set.

Did exactly the same myself last year after using Delkims since the early 90's. Very happy with the ATTS and don't feel as if I'm missing out. Still use the Delks occasionally, when fishing single sticks.

The ATTs introduces a bite detection system that has ‘anti-rock' firmware that stops the alarms from giving repetitive false beeps like many other roller wheel alarms do.
Seems to work ok, I might get the odd single bleep as the line settles, but nothing after that.

I had ATTS for a short while and they are great on small waters with minimal weed and no undertow. Larger weedy waters you get false bleeps through the night as the weed drops and settles on dark. Basic mini microns were infinitely better.
Any kind of undertow and you have to use very heavy bobbins/hangers to keep them in check. If you fish anything other than small waters with predictable conditions then some sort of sensitivity adjustment is a basic requirement for me.

I used to use them on the river as you don't need sensitivity when every bite is a one toner.

I love the waterproofing though. On the tidal river I had an odd beep..beep...beep one night that didn't even sound like a Bream take. I jumped out the van and wandered down to that rod, only to find it was 6" underwater. I had to run back to the van, grab waders, get back down bank pronto and try to retrieve rod/reel and front storm pole with ATT without misplacing my feet as the river bank edge was 4ft underwater at this stage.

Definitely before 2008 as like you I split from my ex in 2006 and definitely had them then and sure they were at least two years old.

Some good debate here guys. Thanks all for the comments, you have stopped my itch and Ive decided to give them an overhaul and stick with them for now.

i remember the hype and clamour when they first came out (ATTX?) ... I had a set for a short time sometime in the 2000's and I have been toying woth the idea of getting some for using on the river, but this thread has just reminded me why i hated them ... delayed notification to sounder box and silent heads
