Well what an absolute bunch of lying useless scumbags this company are.Within the space of three days they have lied and messed up two deliveries, the first saying I have received an item that has not arrived.I have video evidence to prove they never delivered to my address now the two powerporters my mate ordered are a complete shambles too.The two barrows which were ordered at the exact same time are coming as two seperate deliveries,so we thought one barrow on one delivery the other on the next, first delivery shows up and its the side bags for one of the barrows only.My mate called dpd apparently the next delivery is for one box, well according to Carpporter it should be 14 boxes in total. The next time I order anything I'm asking which courier they use and if it is Dopey Parcel Delivery I will cancel the order, shocking company with even worse customer service.
Sorry rant over

They are absolutely pants. They delivered some frozen deadbaits I had ordered to a house half a mile away from me, had same house number but not postcode. They even took a picture of it on the (wrong) doorstep. Thankfully the recipient found my phone number on the invoice inside the package and rang me so not much damage done but DPD didn't have a clue, just said they had delivered the package.

My Porterlite is a few years old now, stored permanently in the boot of my car, where it does get a bit damp.
I pulled the barrow out 3 weeks ago for the first time in a year, and other than having to pump the tyre up before taking the gear 1/4 of a mile its in very good condition.
I hate DPD, if I see anything on ebay I message first to find out which carrier is used. If its Hermes/Evri or DPD, I don't bother.

I never had any problems with the longevity of any of my carp porter barrows when Alan was running it
however seen complaints that recently they went to a thinner grade and people have had trouble with frames and welds failing ?

Quote... According to carpporter they did there should be 12 boxes on the next delivery, we will see later today but according to dpd customer service its one box.
This is now standard practice for DPD. We get so much stuff delivered here it is unreal. For us DPD are one of the better ones. It really all depends where you live. But....
Around six weeks ago we had a delivery of tubs turn up with DPD. It's normally 10 boxes plus, which always came together previously... But this time only one box was delivered while I was not there. It was meant to be 11 or 12 boxes. I spent an hour chasing, then another single box turned up. I questioned the driver... He told me this is now standard practice for DPD to split the deliveries up. Any order with multiple boxes now needs to be delivered individually.
I told him this was absolute craziness. He agreed, he said it was a way for DPD to charge the senders more, for the same service. This is being done under the guise of H&S he said.
I can see DPD going out of business soon....

I'm surprised how bad DPD are as I've never had issues with them, fed ex are bad I had 2 Harrison customs rods almost £500 worth delivered to another address a crescent instead of street with same first name and the guy who they were delivered to rang me and I arranged to come and collect luckily it was about 1/2 mile away.
I rang and complained and they said they don't do compensation which pissed me off spoke to tackle box who sorted it out for me in the end but they shouldn't have had too.
Then I ordered my step daughter her prom dress and Hermes dumped it in my food bin luckily it was just the packaging that was covered in baked beans.

They did the same when I ordered my MkII it should of had the deluxe bag with the lift out frame they sent the standard bag with no zip sides or top, easily dealt with phoned them up and they sent the right one the next day, I asked if they were collecting the wrong one and the response was hang on to it we might but they never did,a mate of mine who never had the bag for his old MkII made an adaption to the frame and pop riveted on a few L brackets ended up.

Though amazon deliver on time they are pathetic. Heard the gate open yesterday then the ring went off. Upon opening the door the parcels had been left by the wheelie bins. Went on my ring App afterwards and couldnt believe it that he had just thrown them onto the floor and then just fcuked off. The other week one of the amazon delivery drivers actually pushed down on my door Handle but thankfully the door was locked or heaven knows what could have ensued. I have read on Facebook of several people having their doors tried to see if they are unlocked. Stay alert and beware.

The main complaint was about a parcel they said I had signed for on Monday which they lied through their teeth about, then on the same day I was trying sort that out they ****ed up the delivery for the two power barrows. My mate rang the customer services as only two boxes showed up and was then told it was on two separate vans as there was no space on one van.The two boxes were small so can't see why needed two separate vans,he was also then told the next delivery was one box only which would of meant alot of items on a £2250 order would have been missing. If you read the op I did say in the space of three days not just yesterday,it all started with them lying about my delivery on Monday I never received and have video footage to prove they never came near my house

The problem is the usual one...
With DPD all the good guys who are proper grafters end up being totally manipulated and leave the company leaving only drivers who are either new at the job and don't care or don't have any idea what they are doing.
The 3.5 ton vehicles you drive are not subject to the tachograph so you will work up to 17 hrs a day 7 days a week especially in the 6 weeks up to xmas.
I was watching a youtube clip of a guy earlier on today who at 49 years old had literally worked himself to death at DPD.
Multi drop delivery driver is an absolutely awful job especially close to xmas...I don't do it anymore and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

Since around 2018 carriers if they get held up in traffic have started sending 'parcel delivered' texts.
Apparently, according to a friend of mine who was a self-employed driver for a carrier, they are only allowed one text to inform the customer of a delay, so once that is sent, they just sign the parcel off as delivered, and frequently take it back to the warehouse for redelivery next day. That's one reason, amongst others (covid), for delivered parcels being photographed in front of the door.
Go back to the days of signing for parcels I say!
If I am not in, on every delivery or order I ask for it to be delivered to a particular neighbour in my block.

Here's an idea. Not aimed at the OP but all of us in general
Get off our arses, spend a few quid more, drive 10, 15, 20, 40 miles and use our local tackle shops and go home with the product you wanted. No late/non deliveries, no bull**** stories etc, and we keep local tackle shops in business
Win win win

The alternative is letting the CEO and his cronies win, then everyone loses. T&C's reduced to just above that of the cheapest couriers, fully flexible hours for posties including Sundays, worse sick pay, lower pay (minimum wage) for new entrants, tens of thousands of job losses as they'll get rid of the daily letter service to save money.
There is mail and parcels left in delivery offices every day because there aren't enough posties to cover it as the job has been cut to the bone. When I started as a Postie in 1997 that was totally unthinkable, not even a single letter was left in and now you've got entire deliveries of hundreds of houses sat there, sometimes for days. When I left in 2018 the job was well on its way to turning into sh*t.
The whole parcel industry is involved in a race to the bottom because they're all trying to do it cheaper. For customers that means worse and worse service, and for employees that means a worse and worse job. For CEO's it means big dividends, bonuses and pay packets, then they can move onto the next industry and wreck that as well.
Everyone wants great service, but nobody wants to pay for it.

I think it's just luck of the draw by local depot. I live in East London and our office is in Brixton. DPD and Royal Mail are by far the most reliable. So much so that we use DPD for all of our work shipping, know the drivers and have almost zero hassle.
DHL are the worst for us, closely followed by Fedex.
I leave the likes of Evri off the list as if you go for the lowest cost expect then worst product. I wouldn't use them myself or buy from a company that scrimps on shipping costs.

I had the same experience recently with Evri where they left a couple of expensive bottles of whisky in the recycling box without leaving a note to say where it was. I was out and didn't get home until late and had to search to find it as I had received an email advising that it had been delivered, when my wife knew nothing about it. Lucky it was well hidden, but communication and general customer service is shocking

The real test for ALL the courier companies I find is not the delivery service but what happens when you arrange a pick up, that sorts the men out from the boys I can tell ya
Yodel left £130's worth of Wine at my front door when i had already ask them to deliver them to a neighbour.
well I just thought about it
and realised of course its clearly the Black friday sales that will have created a massive increase in online orders hitting all the parcel company's so guess we have to expect delays its not a perfect world

My daughter is only working part time at the moment as she quit child care due to low wages and stress - you try looking after 20 2-3 year olds on your own when there should be at least 2 staff.
She went for an interview at Evri and got the job on the spot (that tells you everything!) but walked out after an hour when they tried to send her out with no training whatsoever and lied about the flexibility of the job and insisted she worked more hours than claimed.

Evri are consistently dreadful and their customer support is shambolic.
I had an email saying they had tried to deliver a parcel but there was nobody in and nowhere safe to leave it. I was in and waiting for it and they hadn't tried to deliver it.
Last week I had 2 parcels being delivered on the same day with Evri - heard the porch door open and there was one parcel. Sat back down to my computer and had two emails from Evri.....one saying your parcel was delivered and another saying that the same person tried to deliver the other parcel but there was nowhere safe to leave it!! 😂

The company(not evri)offered me £3.99 to cover my wait told them to shove it as I lost £80 waiting in for them on the 12th as they said evri would deliver it by 9pm on the 12th

Same as me. Eventually I called go outdoors and they accepted that evri had lost it. The replacement came next day though.

Funny, but it's made me wonder, why is almost everything I order these days coming with Evri?? Also, what happened to yodel? Not heard from them at all recently.

I have one coming via yodel today, the local driver is a regular guy and has delivered here for as long as I can remember, I am aware of their reputation but in my case they have always delivered.
as has many others, and I'm off the beaten track, and not always easy to get to in the winter.
*edited just to report delivery successful and exactly as planned.*

Absolute shambles
Evri driver apparently going to be having a very happy Christmas with some stuff my wife ordered for our son...
It's the out and out lying that really gets you isn't it? ...

The delivery driver has no control over what you're told online, neither can he deliver anything to you if he hasn't got it.
the system works perfectly well if everyone does their job correctly, but it only needs one glitch and it falls apart from that point onwards.
just like every company once you start employing sub standard workers who are renowned for dishonesty and placing profits over quality service it quickly turns to excrement.

What excuse is there for a driver saying you have signed for an item when they've been nowhere near your house. The second delivery wasn't much better as I was tracking the driver and saw him drive past the bottom of my street for him to piss off back to the depot. The delivery eventually arrived the next day with a different driver, shame as I was going ask the previous driver why he never bothered the day before
