Just sitting on the bank and was thinking about my top 3 likes and dislikes when fishing.
Likes -
1. Switching off from work.
2. Being outdoors full of nature.
3. Hearing that Delkim absolutely melting off.
Dislikes -
1. Anglers with there alarms set to 7. (Spinal tap)
2. Seeing litter strewn around the swim.
3. Pooing in a carrier bag.
Anyone else?

Only one I disagree with is spots you have been baiting unless it's your own private lake/like the car park full timers picking their swim and leaving each other alone then you have no right to expect people to leave ‘your' spot alone

Like that I'm fortunate to get out and about. Catching is a bonus.

Being woken up asking if I can photograph them with a fish. Once woken up at 5am. Not best pleased.
Packing up.
Edit - Don't get me wrong I don't mind helping anyone that may be struggling but woken up by someone wanting me to take a photo takes the 9155.

There are dislikes that revolve around inconsiderate anglers, but there can be only 3, and I guess they don't rank as highly as the ones I chose.

Nice water where possible with some nice fish in that I really want to fish for
At one with nature in the great outdoors, all part of this magnificent pastime, been there in amongst it
My time, nobody else's, like the odd social with friends, happy times but also love been alone with my thoughts relaxing
Dislikes
Meeting Loud mouths, Bull****ters and two two faced people. No place in carpfishing for me, it's as far from my reality as can be, it's a peaceful and tranquil pastime for me and a getaway of normal life

People deciding to sit for hours behind me trying to have a conversation with me,I go fishing to chill not chat
And others saying “oh I didn't think there was anything in here”
People waking me up early hours asking if I've caught
And people asking me if I've caught anything and I'm just setting up after getting there 5/10 mins before
This is a regular problem fishing public waters as soon as they see a bivvy that's it 100 questions

This thread is brilliant, especially the spinal tap references... think mine are pretty similar to everyone elses. And I can't stick to 3 of each sorry.

3. Forgetting milk/cup/teabags/spoon/loo roll or gas bottle running out
4. Bringing the rod in after a blank night and finding it either massively tangled or no bait on the end

I've vowed to not fish day ticket lakes ever again.
Me and a work friend was setting up for a weeks fishing at bluebells and had another ‘angler' show up just after. Before we were even fishing he had left a bucket in our swim as the swim we were fishing was featured in a YouTube carp video.
Staring at a bucket for a whole week is what deterred me from fishing these lakes.
I also found enough tackle on the floor to fill up my tackle box and re spool all 3 of my reels.

This is why I fish the canals and used to fish the rivers,don't usually get the bucket in swim or setting up next to you,although I did have a guy come and set up right next to me around 14 years ago after I'd made the mistake in the morning telling him I'd had a 20 & a 19 from the edge in 2 sessions.
He turned up one night I was down there and set up right next to me on a stretch that goes for 2 miles or so between locks maybe more and put a big torch on so he could see the over hanging trees better to put a bait there I wasn't happy,and I blanked now if they sk I pretend to be on phone taking a call or just say no I haven't caught even then it doesn't stop them interrupting you even if you are in the phone another pet hate of mine

1: Top companies concentrating more on producing clothing lines than rods, reels and inovative tackle
2: The UK scene used to be the envy of the sport, the bitching, spite and nastiness that's crept in is quite frankly very sad
3: Rubbish in any form (including dumping leads) no need really

1. Turning up at a rammed lake and either settling for a poor swim or going back home.
2. Meeting absolute bell-end, pot-noodle carpers (the ones who piss about with their bite alarms all day and night).
3. Packing away in the wet and having to go straight to work = one smelly, damp van

1) That sickening feeling of anticipation when you open the gate
2) Turning up and finding a swim full of bubblers in the edge
3) Watching a fish charge off out the margins after seeing your size 6 nail itself
A bonus one.... Peering into the net and seeing its a nice one with apple slice scales
Dislikes?
1) That sickening feeling when you see more than three cars in the car park (I hate sharing a lake with too many others)

3) Watching a fish charge into a set of pads because matey took 30 seconds to get out of his bivvy whilst "locked up"

1) Greedy, busy, bomb hole day tickets.
2) People who chuck leads at spawning fish
3) People who chuck controllers at oxygen deprived fish
4) Loud bankside etiquette
5) know it all's who think carp angling requires a degree in biological science and physics to catch 10lb gammy mirrors. I have literally caught them off the top on fag butts. Hungry carp are mugs.
Number 1 usually harbours the other 4 infuriating traits.

No idea what you mean by this halfcentury assuming your 50 I'm only 2 years behind you ,and we are both part of the 21st century carp scene ,as I say I travel 300 miles a week round trip to fish the same syndi I've fished for the last 15 years ....yes it's frustrating when I'm stoned and trying to have a Tommy tank into a handful of fresh wet wipes ( you should try it ) whilst getting wiped out by swans ...other than this faux pas in your eyes ...I'd say get a sense of humour ....

The thought of a 48 year old hunched over having a desperate furtive w*nk, then lighting up a spliff whilst fighting off a swan with his kecks round his ankles gives me all the laughs I need.
