Right guys. A bit of a silly question really. I've never had a problem with my milk going of while fishing. Normally just leave it in cool bag and use it as I go. But the last few times it's gone like cheese. Had 1n pint unopened in cool bag and it went of and I even put some in a flask that started to go of. So what are you guys using to keep your milk from going of as I've not had this problem before

Lucky it's nearly winter then!
Being serious though, never had a problem with cool bag and ice blocks, make sure milk is fresh, you may find it hadn't been stored properly before you bought it, a lot of small shops probably have it stuck out the back on a trolley for hours before they get it stocked in he fridge.

Last pint of milk I brought from Sainsbury's. Got it home put in fridge till I went fishing then in cool bag with food. Didn't even open it . Took it home and back in fridge. But when came to use it . It had gone of . And it stil in date buy a week

I take some fresh and some frozen which I keep in the cool box along with any frozen food items lasts for days

Long life UHT milk OR Filtered Milk will last longer due tho the reduction of bacteria in the milk
UHT milk IS fresh milk thats just been heat treated

I take 2 single pints, one from the fridge and the other frozen, both put in my cool bag, gives the frozen pint at least 24 hours before it's defrosted, seemed to work for me on 72 hour sessions in this year's heat. Even took the remainder of the second pint home and used it the next day Cravendale lasts longer too.

As others have said, take it frozen in a cool box/bag. The bigger the bottle you freeze, the longer it will last. I took a 2L bottle on a 3 day session in hot weather and there was still ice in it after 2 days. It also acts as an ice pack so saves on space too.

It was merely an observation that if you are buying milk from a supermarket out of a fridge, then putting it in your fridge before then putting it in a cool bag/box with ice packs then maybe it's your fridge that's bust, forget it, it was a joke
To be honest I didn't realise keeping a pint of milk cold for a few days was so complicated, ffs

Ditch the milk, drink black tea or coffee or use coffee mate if you really have to. Lightens the load too.

A very fresh semi skimmed 2 pint should last two days even out of a cool box so long as it's in the shade, then switch to a long life semi skimmed as an emergency supply.

When I do a 2 or 3 nighter your right mine don't go off at all and long life is only that before it's opened once opened you should treat it like normal milk

Keep mine in a 1tr metal flask , I chill the flask with the top off in the fridge overnight pour chilled milk in and it lasts several hot days as long as you keep it in the shade.

The best thing anyone could do is buy a proper cool box and not waste money on the carp branded **** that's on offer.

I've got a trakker cool bag witch is good for keeping my food cool. And also a Shimano one witch I've had for years and that's been very good but just not big enough. I did put a load of ice cubes in the Shimano one for drinks the other day and 24 hours later there was still ice left in it

I'm a bit neurotic about food storage on the bank (did a qualification once) so have yet to find anything really suitable for more than 24 hrs (I don't take any chill food for a 48hr session). Most/if not all boxes will only cool for max 24hrs and must be well packed out with ice blocks. Other than milk, which you can solve with UHT, how does everyone else keep their chill food chilled for more than a 24hr session? Bearing in mind it needs to be chilled at 5c or below otherwise food bacteria grows at a rate that soon becomes unhealthy.

My mate uses Baileys instead of milk in his coffee, gets a bit moorish though and no good if you're driving the same day.
Well I've brought some Sainsbury's own coffee mate. For this session. I'll give it a go. As it was only £2 for a big coffee jar size. If no good I'll Chuck it away

I just take sealed packs of meat in original packaging (chicken, steak, bacon etc) and put then in a carrier bag with a ice block. sometimes I will freeze the meat in advance so that it can defrost over time. I always keep this carrier bag in a cool shaded area - under my bed.
As long as you cook thoroughly it will be ok, just really ensure it gets above 70oC core temperature. Most fresh food is flushed with nitrogen before sealing meaning that its a low oxygen environment in the pack - hence if you keep it like that its harder for bacteria to multiply with the lower oxygen levels.
I always use UHT milk for brews when fishing, not for fear of getting ill but more the fact that if the milk starts to turn it tastes rank.

The Korum ruckbag is foil lined, and that has become my food bag.
I keep fresh meat in original packaging from the fridge in there for no more than 3 days, and meat that has come out of the freezer in plastic tubs for no more than 2 days. The same bag also has my fresh vegetable in it, onions, peppers and mushrooms.
As for milk, I usually only take (goats) milk in the winter for porridge, as I am happy, even prefer, to drink tea and coffee black. That keeps in the same bag.

There's numerous cool boxes that will keep ice for 3/5 days used correctly! Freezing salt water will make the temperature colder but not necessarily keep ice any longer, there's plenty of YouTube videos where people conduct tests and show findings if you're inclined to find out more 👍
I have one of the UK Kayak cool boxes which is basically a yeti (roto moulded) it keeps ice for 4-5 days no problem, these feature in Dave lanes vlogs recently
