Does anyone know a shop that has a Fox Frontier on display?
I'm in Barnet north London so ideally within an hours drive.
Want to have a closer look before I make my mind up.

You could try calling AD in Waltham Cross, they have a few bivvys up but don't know if they have the frontier. Outlaw Pro in Essex also worth a call, Browns in Leighton Buzzard..
I reckon if you're serious about buying one then Johnson Ross would put one up for you, but they don't have bivvys on display as standard.

Same, the flat back is the only thing I like about it. I hate the way they look, and they seem really heavy in the bag. My tempest is on its last legs and I'm stuck between a frontier or another tempest. The frontier just seems so much more spacious inside and fits in boarded swims better.

Yeah my tempest v1 bivvy has seen better days and after 7 long years of use feel like a new one. The problem I have is the new tempest 100 is smaller than the V1 and the 150 is too big.
My v1 is the perfect Why do they have to keep changing things?

What annoys me is I have a tempest air, and all the add ons, utility front, overwrap etc. I wish they kept everything the same so I could still use all those on the new bivvy.

Exactly that, one of the biggest rips offs in fishing, tents
Makes me laugh when every year they then change the design, should have got it right in the first place ffs. Probably based on how much Chinese crap they get returned and then bin, all the failures will imitate a “new” model

I loved the original Fox EasyDome, I used it for years. The mark 2 was actually as good, I think the difference was a support bar to push the front out.
When I was working at Gladwells and the 'latest' version was brought out with a flat back it hadn't created any more space inside, or made the bivvy any better.
The redesign and 'upgrade' you know is to convince people to spend more money. The power of marketing.
It is done with so many items in fishing, hardly any products are a genuine improvement.

Iirc Brown's have a Pioneer and a tempest out atm. Usually pretty good about getting a bivvy out to look at if seriously considering buying

Looking at the width of the Frontier 185cm and the X 198.5cm.
My Solar SPC tech bed is 205cm.
Has anyone tried the above bed in the Fox bivvies?

I think Bradders is right - i have a mate with a spc tech and frontier and it easily fits inside

My solar bed fits in the V2 no probs (brolly version a bit tight) and definitely the 150 for French trips. If you like the Tempest principal would the 100T not be an option? I know the T stands for taller but I looked in a mates and the extra height creates an illusion of more space.
Just a thought.

I went from a tempest user for years over to the frontier x just fancied a change and it's the best thing I've done in a long time, I won't slate the tempest because it is a great bivvy I just much prefer the frontier and wouldn't go back, yeah it's a little heavy but way worth it in my eyes

As I haven't seen one in the flesh am not sure wether the Normal one is plenty or should I think about the X as the X is same size (ish) on paper as my Tempest V1
Anyways will have to hope someone has one of my syndicate when its gets busy again and will have a nose about it.

I've had various Tempests, Nash Titan and the Hide Xl pro. The Frontier X is far better in my experience.

I only take one (for 24hrs) or two (for longer) Small Aqua Holdalls. A bait bucket or two and some water.
I use a bedchair buddy so anything behind the bed is a pain in the arse to get too. I'd much rather the bed right to the back and all my kit in front of me to the sides.
There is plenty of space at the back but I'd rather the space elsewhere :-)

That's sort of what I mean mate. Only things going behind the bed don't get used until pack up time. So there's never a need for turning around.
But I can see where your coming from in a way but if you get all your essentials under the ends of the bed and in front the v2 is near a perfect brolly ( bar height )

I'm also of the 'wasted space' opinion as well.
I've been playing with trying to reduce things behind the bedchair, saving that space for things I rarely need or use, which is things in the rucksack once I've got the scales, gas stove and cup out of it.
With the porch extension on my brolly system, I can actually get the bedchair from spokes to door with no problem and have everything on the side of the bivvy, and a gap down the middle.

I agree, I really like it. Just need a bit more height and like the look of the new flat back style.
I did see the new Solar Uni thing at the show, comes out next month. That looked pretty good!

Doesn't get used often so it's can stay there until needed. With a lid on a bucket you can't smell nothing so makes zero difference and doubles up as a table. Less kit and all has its place. Like I said never needed any space behind the bed even on 3 or 4 day sessions
