Just wondering whether anyone could point me in the right direction for a decent finger stall for spodding that's going to last . I recently bought the fox finger stall and it has lasted one session as the Velcro has come away from the stall , thanks.

I just use the Korda one. It's literally just a fingers worth of wetsuit material, no velcro, wrist guard, etc, so nothing to go wrong. Provided you get the correct size it won't come off, don't see why the bit around the wrist is needed tbh.

Yep the gardner one for me as well, the one that does up around the wrist to hold it firmly in place...

I had a schoolboy casting f up with thin braid and the Korda one, the line cut clean through. I guess it did it's job and saved my finger but now use a leather one.

That's rather scary. Most finger stalls seem to be the same kind of neoprene that the Korda one is made from.

Korda one is garbage. Lasted me two trips before it was ripped to shreds and could see the skin. Two days of very heavy (very heavy) baiting yes, but it's a bad product.

The Gardner one is neoprene but with a leathery type material on the inside finger edge where you'd grip the line. I don't know if the op uses a braided shock leader but the esp one is great as its pretty thick and when new has a waxiness to it, definitely nicer even through a finger stall.

Had mine since came out and it's still like new.I hang it from a rod ring when not in use.Im doing well as normally lose stuff like that

I used to use a golf glove. It's ok with mono but braid cut it up. Now use the Gardner glove. Can't see me using anything else. Have tried a couple of finger stalls, but can't seem to get on with them. Glove just feels more natural to me.

I've just started using one of the wolf kevlar casting gloves, bit dearer but certainly the best one I've used.

Seeing carp tax is talked about a lot I'm surprised only one person has mentioned a finger stall from the medical world.
Not that I use one often but I find the ones in post #15 perfectly adequate.

Never had my golf gloves give out with braid. But then I haven't been casting any real distance on the waters I've been fishing recently.
If you're a golfer using them makes sense because it's two uses out of one purchase. Once they get too battered for golf you use them for fishing. Always a replacement, depending on how much you golf of course.

The Gardner one is too thick in the finger material imho.
I've tried most and still go back to a cheapo golf glove. They just feel the most responsive for me.

I agree. Unfortunately I have not been able to find one anywhere to replace mine which went missing12 months ago. Literally decades old. Replaced the knicker elastic a few times.
If you know of a stock anywhere please let me know as I would love to get a couple.

Ive tried a few and the most user friendly is the fox one.. i fish 2 nights a week and spod a lot and they do wear through with the braid constantly rubbing. I get 6 months out of one max before holes appear.
I tried the gardner, it also wore through (holes) but lasted a little longer maybe 6 months plus but, didn't i like them as much they go very stiff as the leather wets and dries so i went back to fox.
If you fish less often and dont bank 100 spombs a session 120 yds you can probably get them to last a lot longer.

electricians glove that have kevlar woven in to them so they cannot be cut. they are cloth so you feel the line much better than any fingerstall ive ever used

I bought 10 from the Chinese site for 80p each, I'm still using the first 2 after about a year .. They are excellent.

I had the Fox one which was crap, didn't last a session. The Korda finger stall the same. I still have an old TFG glove that I use and is going strong after 10+ years of use. Appreciate unlikely that you can get your hands on one following the folding of TFG but if you do see one going get it

I use a Cannon casting trigger. My finger gets nowhere near the line so no need for a stall or glove. Less than a tenner on line.

Try a casting trigger. Fixes to your rod, used for beach casting.
Carp tackle companies for some reason havnt got onto them, probably because they know if you buy 1 you wont have to keep buying a new one every couple of years like you do with a finger stall at nearly a 10er a go.

Golf glove or if you want to spend a little more but will cover keeping your hands warm as well. Try Mac wets

I find it ok to be honest. Far better than seeing my skin through the Korda one after a single day anyway. I used to have a reubon Heaton one, now that was perfect.
