You can get a top end reel for that much, like a Basia, Shimano or Penn!! Just have a look at them online and see which is the lightest!!

Sorry I'm breathing mate. Don't they specify weights on the internet? Don't you understand how numbers work - if one reel weighs 500g and one weighs 600g, then the 500g one is lighter.
Most people will only have experience of one or two different reels, so you won't get a true comparison on weight. Good luck.

I would go for a Daiwa Infinity 5500BR that seems a nice light reel to me. Usually plenty on EBay well under your budget. Or £349 new?

Its not an advertisement looking for 3 reels, I want someone to recommend me a reel thats lightweight thats within my budget of £300 per reel.
I am more than capable of buying the reel of any suggestions i like and then multiplying it by the number of reels I want.

Makes a difference because most second hand stuff are in sets, three being the most common but pairs and fours come up as well and most don't want to split. Saw a set of 3 mint basia's yesterday with box's etc that looked good as new for £950 ovno.

Do you normally use a certain make,as some people prefer Daiwa over Shimano and vice versa,is there any make you wouldn't touch.I don't think there is any need for your constant ****ty attitude though tbh,you might need more help in the future and get no help at all

Basia SLD QD is the lightest big pit (and probably the best looking big pit) but are £400 new. I have them and would recommend them. Otherwise you're talking about new Shimano ci4 14000 or second-hand Power Aeros. If a mini big pit would do you have the Daiwa Whisker 25QD or the 5500 sized ci4 to consider as well. In the end I went over my budget and got the SLDs as knew that's what my heart desired and I'd always consider another to be a second place choice (and probably replace them later for SLDs anyway). They're not perfect, lightness does entail some compromises, but I don't at all regret getting them.

I have the diawa basia black customs and can recommend these too pricey but I'll never need to replace them saved hard for them as I've always wanted a set of basias

The only options you have are:-
Daiwa Castizm (If you don't mind an overly Quick drag)
Shimano Ci4 5500 (same as above .. the drag)
Those two are the lightest.
Slightly heavier :-
Daiwa Emcast 25A.
Okuma INC Inception 6000.
The Emcast is closer to a smaller increment drag than the Okuma, and better build.
Of those four, sizewise, the Emcast is the biggest, Okuma the smallest, body and spool.
The only options you have are:-

Had all of those but none are big pits more middle weight, the castizm 25a is only 5% better than the emcast 25a in my opinion but costs three times as much and I actually prefer the drag on the emcast. I go for and have the lightest, slimmest Rods I have found.
So it's imperative I balance them with the lightest Reel I can get my hands on.
So much more fun chucking \ using a light set up around vs a heavy one.

The weight of the reel makes absolutely no difference in how you feel leads down, or how you play fish. None whatsoever. Writing reels off because of what they weigh is daft

Just think if years ago you bought a set of Shimmy Technium 10,000XT's you wouldn't have needed to go on this journey
I had a similar but but less expensive journey ( over 50 years) but stupidly had a wobble about spare parts and retirement and sold mine. Most stupid decision ever.

Fair enough if your fly or lure fishing but not with carp fishing. The rods spend 99% of there time sat on a pod. You need to get yourself to the gym. I would never buy a carp rod or reel just because they are light.

Couldnt stand the xtc, I've fished with every technium big pit from 10000 xt to trying my mates new long spool ones. the 12'000 mgs xtb to me, is brilliant. although I do chuck on WD quick fold handles just for speed of packing up.
was very tempted to get the newest one, might get some second hand as I do think they cast brilliantly.

Out of all the techs ive owned the original 10000 xt were by far my favourite but still prefered my original iso's. Those two reels for me were the pinnacle of carp reels and its been down hill ever since.

Possibly true, never owned them but had the Technium. 2500 and 4000 mgs of the same era which are the best reels of that size I've ever used and are extremely rare now.

You see I found the opposite, weird that, but I get everyone grips, reels in, and uses there reals in slightly personalised ways, and quality and build can be interpreted differently by touch.
I've not found a situation they have excelled in to be honest, and lets face it, the original 10000XT ( of which I now have a worrying collection lol ) will still handle absolutely everything this or any other country will ever be able to throw at it and more. everything after that one has been more about minor finesse and cosmetics, but it will cast 250mtr in the right hands, is easily serviceable, and for what its worth Ithink its the best looking of all the techniums.

Maybe I'm on a minority, however I feel that a rod and reel should feel in balance to the user. Personally I like the combo to be butt heavy. I can't stand a rod that feels tip heavy. 13ft rods are more likely to be this way unless attention is given to the build spec. If you are going to use a light reel, then you need to ensure the build spec on the rod tip and rings, is as light as possible.

13ft rods will feel tip heavy regardless of the rings used if using a ultra lightweight modern reel unless weight is added in butt near the cap but why buy a super light reel if doing that. Even if you get a balanced settup as soon as the line goes through and a three or four ounce lead hangs off it the tip end is heavier anyway. Having spent the last two years casting lots of different 13ft rods from all the top name the one I remember being possibly the lightest and closest to your ballance ideal would be the infinity which is a very light blank but I don't like minima guides on long range rods.

Even if you get a balanced settup as soon as the line goes through and a three or four ounce lead hangs off it the tip end is heavier anyway. Having spent the last two years casting lots of different 13ft rods from all the top name the one I remember being possibly the lightest and closest to your ballance ideal would be the infinity which is a very light blank but I don't like minima guides on long range rods.
