Apart from the ridgemonkey offering are they any other bait grinders out there someone could recommend? Ideally cheaper than the £50 ridgemonkey version. Looking to crush boilies and nuts

Pick up a cheap used Kenwood food processor off Facebook Marketplace. I'm going to get one as soon as lockdown has finished. There's one on there currently for £7 in Stoke (close to me).
Obviously can't use them on the bank, but NGT do a cheap plastic manual one like the Korda Krusha. Not brilliant though.

I got myself the NGT grinder from ebay for £9, a couple of years back,
its not too bad, the grinder cutters inside can come lose sometimes, but just tighten up the handle
but overall, not too bad for the price, not too good on smaller baits, but 15mm and over ok, 18mm and such cuts it up quite good,

Got the ngt one as well, think it is made to crush pancake batter. Within 1 kg of bait the plastic parts started to disintegrate.

must off been unlucky then, or hard baits ? mines been quite good,
i can do a a good few kilos no problem, but my bait isn't that hard,
so maybe that makes a difference ?

Mine fell apart after a couple of uses with pretty soft baits. Utter rubbish imo

Haven't seen one of them for ages, my old man used to have one and grind bread down for groundbait.

Soft baits should work yes. I would class my bait as medium hard and that was just too much for the housing. Any resistance while grinding translates into the housing working, until it gives. Before i bought one i checked the thing out, and found it being advertised as an ice crusher. By that standard tigers and pellets should be fair game as well
But soft baits, small quantities and a soft touch and it might be useful. But compare that to the korda crushaaa, that thing is absolute bulletproof.
After the ngt one i bought the ridgemonkey one btw, haven't abused it all that much, but so far so good and it even takes tigers. Haven't been as brave yet to try pellets:P

I've had an NGT one for about 4 years and it's still fine. It's not what you would call a strong build and needs to be tightened up occasionally. Yes I'd like a better one but the RidgeMonkey prices are just silly

Tried that myself. Surprisingly did not have the result I expected, did not break much up, tire seems to even the pressure out, might be better with a steel plate on top of them

Must be luck of the draw then ? Like I said, mines be fine,
but I also use a Korda bait kutter which cuts baits in half, which comes in handy

I have the NGT one which I keep in the van for doing small amounts on the bank, just don't turn it anti clockwise as the nut will come undone and the whole thing falls to bits 
Also have the RM which I think is great, also have the particle plate for it for smashing nuts up

Mine gets used for that as well as its proper purpose of mincing meat.
Bread, boilies, tiger nuts, maize all get ground down.

I've got a pal who always cheaps out, constantly on the lookout for alternatives instead of buying something that does actually work. My mate always comes back to me after spending f..k knows how much on work arounds that never hit the mark, eventually buys the thing he's been avoiding to splash a load of cash on to then tell me how the bollox it all is. Never learns.

I already have one, but so far i have only ground down some cat biscuits with it.
Im going to do a simple cheapo base mix with trout pellets, cat biscuits and a few other bits.
I will leave the radio playing quite loud to drown out the grindey crunchy noises though

I picked up mine for a pocketful of small change at a car boot sale a few years ago.

Agree with TC ridge monkey crusher good bit of kit that grinds many kilos of bait in a short time👍🏻 I had a cheap ice crusher that eventually disintegrated the RM crusher was a great purchase.
