This Ridgemonkey tackle box takes the absolute biscuit. It's dreadful in every way. Where do I start?
The lids. Each compartment on the base of the base section has a poorly fitting clear plastic lid. If these are taken back slightly too far, they break clean away rendering the compartment useless.
The magnetic fasteners. A magnetic fastener on each corner provides for a secure (ish) closing. Opening is immediate and sudden. We arent talking a smooth entry by any means. Any ill-fitting lid on any compartment will release, liberating your swivels and beads...everywhere.
The fasteners on the base lid have to be checked and double checked before closing the lid. Any mistake and your terminal bits are flung out.

. . .I've never really understood these hyper complex tackle boxes . . .had the original Fox Large system back in the day and eventually got frustrated with all the little mini-components as couldn't find what I wanted half the time etc . . .most of the bits these were populated with still remain in the box, in the back of the garage! Did the same with the mini version - now also redundant!
Soft case solution much better - leave your bits (hooks / swivels etc) in their original retail packaging (saving time populating ridiculous mini-boxes) and locate together and as needed making what you ACTUALLY need easier to find. When they run out bin them and replace - you'll be amazed at what you actually NEED by regularly using items rather than just buying them and looking at them occasionally / forgetting you ever bought them in the first place. . . !
Trakker NXG PVA pouch / Combi Rig pouch ideal for this and cheaper . . .

Nearly sold my Korda box to get one of these.
Went into my local to have a look at one first. Glad I did. Within 1 minute of looking around it, gave it them back and said no thanks. The plastic lids were a joke as OP states. Looked at them and items of terminal tackle would be falling through the gaps, they were that big.

I really do struggle to many good ridgemonkey products,they must have a following unless they would be out of business by now.

Not sure why people buy a dedicated tackle box with 'carp tax' attached. My last rigid box was a racco box, perfect, indestructible. I now use a small tupperware box, clear plastic and came with cakes included from poundland. Still perfect after about 5yrs of abuse

I agree with Belch a soft case with most of bits in there packets and the rest in old film canisters eBay £3 for ten I still think best box was the Fox back in the day take it back £50 is £50 towards more tackle

I use a few tupperware boxes for some bits and I got the NGT (korda lite) box & Korda rig safe. Holds everything I need and doesn't have excessive carp tax on it.

I was in two minds between one of these and the Korda tackle box, I watched a few videos on YouTube all having problems so I went for the Korda tackle box thank god these ridgemonkey box's look crap
After having numerous tackle boxes when my fox box died I picked up a set of 3 plastic boxes with clip lids .
Much better than all these overpriced boxes with added carp tax .
And all for the princely sum of £3.99 😍. Who's the mugs eh

I now use a trakker pva pouch for all my terminal tackle, spools of stuff and pva bits. It pretty much holds everything and I love it. I'm past trying to keep loads of tiny components in little sectioned boxes. Far less chance of spilling everything if stuff is in a packet and you can see what it is easily too.
it happens I bought into the hype that is Korda, found the majority of their products to be sub standard gave a lot of it away. Then again having used kit that's preformed flawlessly for a few decades and trying Kordas offerings it failed miserably in my opinion. Others obviously think differently.

Purchased a vault £200 had an issue with it and called Ridgemonkey as it wouldn't charge. Was told the battery only has a lifespan of 3 years and as the vault was 3 years old it has expired it's lifespan. So now understand why the instructions detail an 18 month warranty. They would do nothing to help me not even money off a new vault to replace it. So they sell a product knowing is has a 3 year lifespan WTF. I will never be spending a penny on any Ridgemonkey product ever again

I have an Power pack made by Anker that's 10 years old still get 1.5 charges of my iPhone 6plus used it for several years with my 4s and that was 3 recharges .
I really don't understand why people go for Tackle branded Items when we gave so many decent power packs around.

I agree when it comes to power packs, I bought one from curry's about 2/3 years ago for about £50 and still get 4/5 full charges out of it for my iPhone 11 Pro Max which uses a lot to charge it

I don't get why you can but a good charger for about £40 yet as soon as its designed for carp fishing the price goes up 10 times

i bought one of those tackle boxes, its fine, if i had to make one criticism, i would say the magnets are too strong on the bottom compartment and is difficult to open.

. . .these days keep most of my session bits in a 'cuvette' tray in the top of a square bucket . . only use a couple of rigs on my current water so just keep any spare components / a few leads in this - the rest stays in a soft case in the car boot!
Why do we feel the need to carry every rig component known to man when we generally only use a few key items . . .?

If that's an open question mate, i use a larger tackle box with more bits n bobs in it when i'm in France or longer sessions, but 9 times out of 10, i just use a small rig wallet to get me out of trouble if needed on short day or afternoon visits to the lake

Same here. Due to lockdown having to concentrate on a small park lake close to home and I'm just doing day sessions and taking a small Fox pouch with bits and bobs if needed and a small rig wallet with a few leads in the lid of my rucksack. The larger box is very useful for longer sessions and I find it easier to get this out when rig tying at home as convenient to have all components I may need easily to hand, and just take a few rigs out with me each time I fish with a few back ups items for emergencies

Another point with power packs , is the rate of progress.
I own 2 Anker packs, the newer is 2 years old and it is streets better than its predecessor, maybe 4 years older, in terms of capacity vs cost.
Suggest once you get beyond s3 or 4 years old, it may be worth looking around to see what the market has available....

If you spending £20 or £30 on a power pack and it lasts that long (which is what I do and my oldest is now 5 years old and still doing a decent job, but capacity is noticeably less than when it was new) I am happy with that logic, less happy if I were to spend £200 on the RM version to be told it has a relatively limited life expectancy

18 months is a good warranty for battery cells. Most laptops have a 6 month warranty on the battery/cells in the small print. Lithium ion batteries only have a finite life anyway & they will gradually degrade over time anyway. My original Vault must be 4 years+ now & still has more than enough life left in the cells to power my iPad Pro & phone for a week!

I too use a Trakker NXG PVA pouch for all my end tackle. I only use 2 types of rigs so dont need a huge tackle box full to the brim with bits.

Yes. Great for weeks away angling. Or , as i use it mostly to tackle up different rods whilst relaxing in the garden.

Just watch a video on this. It's enormous! Thought the whole point in having so many little compartments was to save space?
I have a Korda compac 125 for all my needles scissors etc, stuff I need to hand, and a 140 for rig making bits, and a tackle safe. Best solution I've found to be honest, retired my mini fox box. Although it can sometimes take a while to find stuff, the lid has a zipped compartment that the regularly used stuff can go in.
I also have a 100 size for leads.

Love the lack of garish branding, spooling up the dispensers can be a pain, even worse dropping a open 8 compartment shallow
