I think it may have been the fishing republic disaster From last year or 2 that took them down.
I used to use go outdoors a lot but Prefer decathlon for general outdoor clothes but branded Items would be go outdoors

Think mine ran out in March lol
I thought reading yesterday they had done one of those voluntary solvency thingymajigs so they could stay open and get discounted rents and stuff like that

Great customer services department.
A few years back I ordered 50 quids worth of hooks and they sent me the wrong pattern of hooks.
Full refund given and I was told to keep them so i donated then to a kids angling charity along with other bits.

I'm a regular in Go Outdoors and speak to one of the guys a lot when I'm in there.
He believes it all went downhill when JD purchased them.
Hopefully someone will rescue them, and return them to their former glory.

Same here. sad times. I have had quite lot of stuff from them over the years. Good prices and they price match too. Somebody mentioned below about the card. Swapped a few defective things over the years. Just used to check my purchase history with the card and print me a receipt off

well they had to close for a couple of months and with camp sites closed and sports places closed nobody is buying anything like a lot of businesses they cant survive sadly
and I must confess I never bought very much from them and felt like the £5 card was a piss take

What a shame, not just for the fishing side but it's a useful shop they sell lots of things. Hope the cretin that is Mike Ashley doesn't get ahold of it else it'll just be karrimor and Diem absolute crap for sale.

I bought a £5 discount card in order to get some rods they were advertising in the sale. Paid for 3 rods at sale prices and waited for a delivery. An email arrived a couple of days later saying the rods were out of stock, and then waited longer for a full refund, not including the £5 discount card thingy. A joke shop and after this, i would not buy anything from them.

ive had a few bits from them over the years, ill miss them as there handy for things,i just got a 5quid card but to be fair ,i got a good deal on a chair so it all works out

Jd sports put them into administration then bought them back for 50 odd million so they will be open again soon

Hmmm - me too ! - had never bought anything from them until very recently when they were the only place that seemed to have the folding bucket I wanted in stock - I do usually make a point of supporting my local shops, but with lock down and all I had little choice - that and the fact two of my local shops have now closed in the last few months - so had to buy the "annual memebership" - or whatever the efff that is ?? - shame what's happened to them and even more so for the people that are now facing the awful prospect of redundancy - especially in these uncertain times. Cant say I would morn the loss of Go Outdoors if they dont strike a recovery deal - but my heart does go out to those people and families affected by this.

Haven't they done this to protect themselves why they negotiate rents etc. Think its standard procedure now cath kitson lauran ashley and quite a few have done it recently with covid.

Going into administration does not mean a company have gone BUST!! ..... and all sorted today, reports suggest JD have bought the brand back and will continue to trade

Are they still open and looking for a new owner My nearest previously Stapely then bought out becomes fishing republic then Go Outdoors. Who knows who will be next owners. Probably be AD they seem o be taking over Hopefully they will carry more stock Fed up with out of stock all the time Feel sorry for staff
