July 1995 we did the same trip, 3 weeks on lady philipa one of the most popular boats on the Thames.
Boiling hot weather, shui ramed hill off at silver stone and the weather was boiling.
Started at Kingston and as far as we could, fished every night while the girls were in bed, me and my mate drank and fished every night for 3 weeks absolute heaven and not forgot.
Some of the sights, the pubs, the boats, the people, the locks and scenery will live long on, just fantastic.
The island I think is cookam we had a bbq on there and caught carp to 15lb but mainly bream and anything you put in was eaten pronto, we thought crayfish.
My mate and his wife have been in in new zeland for 15 years and fish at see off their boat but I know when they see this they will be emotional like me and the misses.
Kids and work have took over our boat trips but the Thames trip was a blast.., this brought it all back, god bless terry h.

but i am guessing this must be the end of his time on the Thames or he would not be showing some of the land marks which we all know when the lockdown ends that stretch will have anglers all over it once again

Why would he do it for nothing?
ESP pay him a salary, in return for all the work he does for them, including the videos - it will all be in his contract I imagine.
He was heavily involved in the development of the dynamite source and the crave, so no surprise he uses them.

Especially as he just came off of Cotswold baits M Tech, circa 2001 on Sonning Eye.
Was also using DT baits Pukka fish before that.

Very debatable? Top of the tree for 25years yeah, best there has been, fishing cercuit waters for known fish maybe but saying best there has been overlooks the pioneers that found the waters he fishes and those that have traveled to previously unheard of waters and the vast low stock inland seas.

Nobody else comes close when it comes to telling the tale. Wonderfully evocative stuff: it's almost as if you are there with him as he tells the story.

Lol. He has done plenty of the type of fishing that you mention and those other guys would happily put him at the top of the tree.
I've done plenty of that type of fishing...inland seas, non fishing waters, Unknown's.....I've not got three books worth of pictures yet....maybe one articles worth!

Hearn and Yates. Both utterly authentic angling obsessives who love to tell a story and have the skill to do so. Martin Bowler is a good workmanlike pro making a living, but for me lacks the talent and authenticity of Hearn and Yates. Hearn edges it for me. My opinion for what it's worth.

I can watch anything with Chris Yates in, day in day out, same with Tel and Martin Bowler – all authentic, not lost the reason why they go fishing in the first place, the chilled out no rush manner, it's “Real” is the best way I could describe it.
If Drennan/ESP got their act together and infused a bit of it into some UK made tackle, with the same ethos they would have something special on their hands. I doubt cost would be an issue, a lot would gladly pay for a bit of authenticity, a bit of heart & soul into something again.

I thought it was great, as his stuff always is. He seems so content all the time, what a top bloke.
The only think that I thought was a bit funny was going on about taking the boat 40 miles up stream. I canoed 40 miles along the Thames in 2 days last year, wild camping for 1 night. We carried all our kit/food/water. Went through 14 locks I think. It was easy, doing it in a small boat with a motor isn't anything to worry about

Im not so sure, i live in the north of england and apart from the dartford crossing have never been to the thames, yet i easily found the stretch from from nicks video

Trouble is NH caught the fish he was after, and let the whole world know as he was obviously going onto pastures new.
I believe that the big linear was caught 2 or 3 times before/after Nick had it, but respect to those captors, they, like most longer term Thames anglers kept

Simple respect to, and amongst the regulars to keep the circus away. OK if you are on a boat you can moor up away from the madness, not so easy fishing on the bank for others.
