Hi all as I'm now in lockdown and I've watched all of the main carp YouTube videos (Nash,wofte etc) does anyone recommend any other videos or even people who do a bit of filming on the side of fishing? Thanks

I'm the same I really like Scott Lloyds vlogs and it's obvious how hard he works for his fish and massive travelling involved ,however that annoying tongue blobbing and stupid fingers thing does my head in. What's worse is all the wannabe instakids are now at it.

Peckys ones are good. Watched the German river one the other night. Fair play we want to see action but it's not real, ie mates put them on spots and then pre baited for them. Information and help that most ppl wouldn't get and more likely blank. Still good angling and enjoy to watch

have been subscribing to several of the USA youtubers for the last year or two, They fish for everything and anything including bass, catfish and inshore lure fishing in a huge variety of waters. 618 angling, NDYAK angler are my faves along with uk river specialist Mark Erdwin fishing. I find these sort of videos easier to watch than lots of bivvy blog style stuff.

Apart from hinders
I did watch a few of his but the last few are all him fishing the same muddy little puddle about 40 yds out with a bait boat. I dont get the appeal of his at all if im honest. The hellooooooooo is quite funny i suppose

I got round to watching the new reservoir diaries today. its a brilliant video with some great editing and fish to go with it. shame about the 2 individuals who bullied them because they were catching fish.

I have to mirror the views below about Carl and Alex . I really rate these guys , I haven't seen all of there stuff but what I have seen is really good. The reservoir diary's is brilliant, all 3 of them . I recently watched the latest one and thought the context was brilliant with some superb footage also . Very impressed and they have done a long way . Iv no doubt these guys will continue to produce , the best but about them is they do there own thing

Fair play to Carl and Alex for the way their YouTube stuff has taken off. They are clearly good kids and know how to catch fish, also like the way they promote fishing for other species than carp to a younger audience.
They definitely do not deserve to be threatened with violence, but I have to admit I would not want them, their cameras or their drone anywhere near a nice quiet water I'd put years of effort into! To be broadcast to thousands (maybe millions?) across the world.
There's a conflict for me in taking the pleasure of fishing an under the radar water then making your living telling anyone who will listen on the internet all about it. Not a dig at these two, just an observation on the sheer amount of information you can get about a place watching a couple of hours on YouTube, where you used to have to get to know the set up by actually meeting people.

That's my only gripe, tbh not only them. They go onto waters get there footage catch the fish then piss off and stick it all over the web. That poor guy that's been chasing a target fish now has a load of sheep turning up. Luckily they'd never have a hope in hell of getting on my syndicate. Which is good as they aren't to far from where I live

I totally agree it is catch 22. But I think when you look at some of the lesser known intimate waters like ditching, I can't imagine it's done that lake much good with Carl and Alex broadcasting it. But as you say, the content has to come from somewhere

There's an endless number of day ticket waters and probably some clubs that would be happy for the publicity. Plenty of variety available out there to feed the hunger of the masses.
I just think if a club or syndicate has been quietly going about its business for years without the need or desire to court publicity it's a bit disrespectful to blow those waters wide open in the name of entertainment, earn a living from doing so, then move on to the next place. Just my opinion.

It's not the club management or lake owners I'm talking about, they obviously want full banks and subs coming in, and they will be the ones who decide on any publicity restrictions. I think it's very easy for anglers to become somewhat protective of the waters they fish, particularly if it's quiet. I know I have. But at the end of the day the water is not theirs to protect, they are open access waters, available for anyone to enjoy. For sure it hurts when the crowds descend but ultimately it's only the selfish side of ourselves it's hurting.

And that's exactly the point people enjoy watching these videos unless it's on the water they happen to be fishing.
Plus they are not entirely representative of the fishing all the time,the water Carl and Alex fished is an entirely different proposition when full.

Totally agree that there is a significant aspect of self preservation about it. Wanting to protect the joy of your own fishing and the culture of the fishing with the other anglers on a lake without the hoards rocking up after watching 30 mins showing all the spots on YouTube.
100% I'm being rose tinted, it just doesn't sit right with me that you could earn your living negatively affecting other peoples long term fishing experience.
Can't wait for the next Carl and Alex in the USA though, and hoping for a Greg Ellis in Botswana once the lockdown is over
