Blimey that was emotional. Watched it on YouTube, my missus was in the next room and was in absolute bits! Respect to the man, I wish him all the luck in the world.

Me and the missus watched it and at times we were both in sheds...What a man.

Very moving. But also funny, warm and with a measure of hope. I don't know anything about Simon', the host, but he does get people to open up. Good luck, Ian and Cathy.

My favourite yet, Was emotional funny and inspiring. Seemed very fitting with everything that's going on around us at the moment in a way . Also loved the way he spoke about Jan Porter. The segment around the tackle box had me 😢

A great yet emotional podcast. Wishing Iain all the very best.

Powerful stuff. A purge of the soul at certain points. 100% respect for the man.

On a side note - The Korda podcasts are simply brilliant. Simon just seems to get the guests talking/sharing with gentle prodding.

Wow indeed!

That was a hard listen at times but parts of it also cracked me up. I must say I was a little surprised at mr fairbrass for getting the hump with tong when he took a well paying full time job. If Danny wanted him that badly then perhaps he should have employed him full time not just as a consultant . I find it odd that Fanny wasn't pleased for him. He never struck me as a guy who would allow business to ruin a friendship. I hope for dannys sake he makes his peace with tong whilst he still can. Regrets a horrible thing.

Cashy didn't come out of it too well. Does he even work in the industry anymore or is he a full time boxing trainer now?

I had the pleasure of standing in the queue for the coffee machine on Sunday morning at the hotel where we stayed for the NAS with tiny tong. I'd never spoken to him before. He was his usual smiling happy engaged self. Now listening to the podcast it turns out he'd been for a cancer scan the day before. You'd never have known it. My god there's a guy who understands positivity.

Good luck ting tong. There's many that could learn a thing or two from you.

a brilliant podcast!

iain is a very special chap, one I have the up most respect for and I wish him all the very best in life.

I was very lucky to have been invited to one of his shows to do an otter/fishery powerpoint a few years ago and I thanked him for the platform he provided to raise the issue, what he didn't tell me was the amount of people that attended the how, 450 people I think, and the help and advice re my nerves was second to none. I have a lot to thank him for and I still stay in touch with him today

I have heard of some "names anglers" but dont follow them so know very little about any of them, but i am working my way thru the Korda Podcasts and find them very interesting. This was probably the most in depth so far.

I thought the gift and chat about Jan Porter was very poignant, touching and respectful

He admits he needs managing delicately .... I get the impression that might be an understatement lol ... he has been through a lot of employers/sponsors etc and seems to fall out with a lot of them ... Perhaps his personality is a little to high maintanance and direct for the modern employer (he was right though, Nash alarms did look **** lol) ... he certainly doesnt lack confidence!

I found his self admission, explanations and repeated apologies of how badly he has treated his partner/wife (Kathy?) in the past a little uncomfortable at times. On the other hand she is obviously now his rock,

It was refreshing he spoke about various brands he had worked with, praising and criticising where he felt necessary

Purely from a point of nosiness ... I would of liked him to have known on what Shimano did to break their relationship .... Iain touched on that it was to do with his mum which seems a little odd? ... obviously a sensitive subject still so understandable if he doesnt want to elaborate

I found it a very open and at times a brave conversation with a complex character who to me, sounds like has had his life bought sharply into perspective (understandably), with a remorseful tone and a feeling of some unresolved issues. I hope he gets a chance to build some of those bridges.

The biggest compliment i can give is that a 3hour long podcast flew by very quickly ... i wish him all the best for the future

and a big thumbs up to Korda, yet again leading the way ... this time, in quality and professional podcasts. I havent always enjoyed the way they market or portray angling, but these podcasts, along with Monster Carp show have taken it to another level

I listened to it in the gym on my headphones
Had to stop listening as it was killing me and couldn't concentrate, much more powerful listening that way.
I have always liked tong as he's a no bull**** kind of angler.

Not yet finished the podcast but wow is it powerful, I also think that it is really good of Korda with the way that they are interviewing different people who they have had issues with in the past for the good of everybody. One of the other podcasts mentioned that his and kordas relationship went sour but they still invite them onto the podcast which for me is a sign of a very adult company

A very emotional watch, not gonna lie it really did get to me. The love him and his wife have for each other is a beautiful thing, I prey that she doesn't loose him!!

Any news on how is Iain is doing ? I hope he'a doing well?

Little update guys from Iain

Unfortunately Iain as been admitted back in to hospital, there is an obstruction in the bowel and it's causing a lot of discomfort and pain,

Tomorrow they are admitting him to the Dougie Mac hospice to get it his palliative care sorted and get him as comfortable as they can

Macca as told me not sugar coat things and tell you how it is, and how he as been told, the surgeon as been in today and said there is nothing they can do now and he could be moving into his final weeks,

That's all I can tell you for now but will keep you all updated
I've passed on messages to Mac of love and support, I think he's got his phone on him but please be mindful if he doesn't reply, if I can help with questions I will

At the moment he's having family time with cathy and his girls and his mum

Never met Iain but I've only ever heard nice things about him. I feel really sad and hope he can find some comfort in knowing how massively liked and respected he is from the angling community.

What a bloody shame, comes across as a top bloke and I admire his drive to crack on with life considering the circumstances. Thinking off him tonight.

I bumped into him once or twice over the years. Really nice fella, always had time to chat. It's a cruel illness. My thoughts and prayers go out to him, his family and friends

Very sad news, I never met Iain but I found his videos on YouTube to be entertaining and made me laugh out loud sometimes. It is at this time he needs the love and comfort from his family and the greater angling community, cancer is a cruel illness that will impact on most people during their lifetime. My prayers are with you Iain and your family stay strong my thoughts are with you.

Only speaking to him a few weeks ago in carp scene, you'd never guess he was as ill as he was, few weeks later getting moved into palliative care, sucks really does.

DNA were in the same hotel as us at the last Northern Angling Show. On the Sunday morning I happened to be standing in the queue for breakfast with Iain. He was his usual chatty self, asking how Sat had been, laughing and joking and smiling like he always seems to be. I was staggered when I heard his podcast and he said he'd been for scans the day before. From his attitude that Sunday morning you'd have thought he didn't have a care in the world. I hope I never find myself in his situation, but if I do I hope I can handle it with even half the humility he has. An absolute class act. His family must be heart broken but so very proud also.
