Does it really matter what happened?
Last I saw he was doing guided trips in eastern europe somewhere.
The whole platform and quality of the recordings needs work.

I agree, never a bad word before but wouldn't say he ‘slags' it off. Just states there could be an improvement with removing the mattress. He states that his use was far more than the average angler

Its still the standout out podcast for carpfishing as far as i am concerned some really good guests on over the years. I have listened to the baitworks and other efforts and they are all worth a listen.

Agreed, I've listened to the lot twice over! I didn't mean my original post to be negative in any way, just found the sway in 100% positive to not entirely positive amusing. Jamie can be a bit of a pain, but I think he has a genuine talent for the interviews. And they've had some mega guests. Really like Mark too.

Life hack: Listen to it on YouTube and change the speed to 1.25... still easily enough to listen to but in less time!

I'm glad to see the carp cast back. Not as regular as it used to be but I'm sure life's busy for them both. Adam penning and Ian Russel are still my favourite interviews on there. It certainly beats listening to the radio on my travels to work.
I also can't say I'll miss the Kevin Nash interviews, the man has made some cracking kit over the years but my god his voice sends me to sleep.

I agree with you Adam, Nash literally took over the Carpcast and there wasn't many episodes when he didn't appear, his interviews and books just didn't appeal to me.

I really enjoy the carp cast but I just wish Jamie would mention more about how good Slovenia is, and he never updates us on how many 60's he's had.
And having heard numerous times the stories of how Nashy invented everything its not gonna be a great loss to the podcast.

well I seen this pop up saying it was back,its not back its just Jamie's skint and needs a way to generate some income, everything is money orientated and he's always looking at a way for making money,this time vip carp holidays has been paetly bought out and now looking to expand so he's advertising that, he's also thinking of putting a carp show on in the warmer months so was banding that idea round. he's that skint he's even pimped his dog out after seeing what price puppies are selling for since lockdown (ffs whatever next).
they might have been the first ever carp fishing podcast but its by far the worst one out there now in my opinion and there's plenty of better content out there now

For what it's worth I really like it.
The one thing that boils my p%@s with most podcasts especially the long ones is when they go off on massive tangents and forget to finish or even go back to what they started with.
There was one time where he was talking about the Korda boys when filming MC out in Slovenia and it sounded like a bit of juicy gossip...... only to switch the story and never come back to it.🤬🤬🤬🤬

I'm still a fan and glad it's back. Plenty of choice now for those that don't like it, don't have to listen. Jamie might be a a bit of a nob but he does have an interesting and knowledgeable take on angling, and IMO importantly, the historic captures to back it up. Carp cast also easily had the best list of guests from the beginning, hopefully they can keep that up.
Glad its back and I hope it stays that way. For those saying Jaimie is only bringing it back for the money. Then who can Blame him. It's been a **** few months for a lot of small businesses. Hes had his revenue streams taken away from him with his Angling show and holiday buisness. Hope it works out for him.

Loved it in its early days, was excited when they said they where arranging a social but that wained when said 'social' turned out to be £250 tutorial weekend. That seemed to signal the start of the whole money making aspect.
I get the need to make a buck or two but they way they are going about it is wrong imo. It's become too obvious and for me has really soured it. Heapy Bob was also a massive brown nose and I hated the way he over managed their FB page. He was very precious.
All being said it's the original and for a while was the best. Second only to the Korda one now imo. Jamie and Mark have a natural charisma and work well together. I find them interesting even when they are talking about non carp or fishing related stuff.
Hopefully it can get back to its best

Very true. When it first came out it was great as it was pretty much the only one out there. Now there's top quality content everywhere you look so it's not as simple as setting up a mic and chatting to your mate.

Isn't that what a Podcast is. Normally one or two people chatting with the addition of a mike. That's what makes them so appealing. Plus anyone can put one out there. Anyway new episode of the Carpcast released tomorrow with Mark Holmes for those interested.

For sure, I think that's my point. At first two guys chatting about carp was interesting, but after a bunch of episodes you need to keep it fresh with something genuinely interesting.

The podcasts are self defeating for alot of interviewees. They cannot contain their conceit but expose themselves simply as ordinary anglers, not very good and certainly without any original thought. Ian Russel is the king of this, followed by , Leon Bartropp.

Love the stuff from the Northern boys!! Pod casts started here before Korda..Nash and Carp Chronicles!! Its not profit but covering costs...just remember we had no content they brought it. More podcasts the better...

I'm glad it's back for one. At least Jamie is up front about why he's doing it, fella is probably broke due to Covid restrictions on his business so has to make a living. Just skip the first 15 minutes and you'll miss all the promotional stuff generally. Personally, it doesn't really bother me.
He's obviously a clever lad Jamie and at least can string a sentence together and although Mark doesn't say a great deal at times, I do find his sense of humour rather amusing. I often have a little chuckle when he comes out some dry witted comment.
As with most podcasts, they're very dependant on the guest being interesting and entertaining. I could listen to Ting Tong chat for ages for example (The Euro Aqua episode was a gem lol), as is Frank Warwick whereas others will send me to sleep.

Have to admit that I have got back into them again now that the output is more regular. The fact that they are not connected with a particular manufacturer does to lead to some good non pc discussions.

Anyway, one showed up on my YouTube page today so I thought I would watch it, been out on my mountain bike for a nosy round a lake, came back, got a shower, laid on the bed and thought I would have a listen. 103 Julian Cundiff, bit of then and now but allround, for me, a good listen and not an advert in sight!

Massive fan of the Carp Cast to be fair, I struggled with the last few they did before they stopped as you could tell they were ready to call it, but have really enjoyed it since its been back

The repetitive guests tend to be the ones that get a really good response. People like Mark Holmes, Kevin Nash etc all get a huge response to the page etc and people want to hear more from them. Julian Cundiff is another that every time he's on it's just thoroughly enjoyable

Yeah I enjoyed Simon's episode. I think that's what I do like about the Carp Cast, is you do get people that you don't always think of and quite a wide range of different people
