Heard a few reports of Carp on some venues starting to go through the motions of spawning. First real hot day of the year so far, down south anyway, and there at it.
Does make me wonder if we are in for a really cold summer. And the fish are making hay while the sunshine as it were. Do the fish know something we don't. Just a thought.

Funnily enough I went to pre bait a lake today and they've been hard at it since Tuesday....deepest darkest Cheshire!

Seen a report of a lake in Cornwall early this week. It took me by surprise as nowhere I have visited feels even remotely close. Started to see a few reports today, I would be surprised if the bigger deeper lakes go within this month though.
I'm out fishing now on a public lake and they are not quite there yet just loving the sun at the minute,had a 15.8 out early yesterday morning could have been a male fish as it didn't seem like it was spawning.
Had a nice mid double common from my club lake over the bank holiday. Almost certainly a male. Absolutely beasted me in the fight. Lots of fish in the same area of shallows so I'm expecting them to go for it over the weekend/next week

My mate has turned up at a lake we fish in notts and they showing signs of spawning. It's surprising as the lake was still in flood a week ago
One of the club lakes has been going since Monday. Think it could be a long protracted spawning season this year.
Well. Let's hope they get it out there system soon. So my club waters can reopen in June.
Few waters have started going and id say more over the next few days.... waters gone up over 5 degrees in last 7 days

yep, oxfordshire lakes I'm on have started.
Water temp was 19 degrees when I fished Wednesday night so not too surprised. Going to drop again after the weekend though.

Begs the question why we are all surprised they are spawning. The fish adapt to everything, including the climate. Spawning is generally bought on by photoperiod as much as temperature. Why are we stuck on scientific ideals.
