I have ordered a set of Nash Dwarfs after a couple of baby pits, this is only an occasional set up so not wanting to spend to much ideas would be gratefully received.

Yep Okuma inception inc 6000 great quality reels for the money under £60 a reel hard to beat for the price

Another vote for the Okuma Inc 6000. Can't fault them. Parkfield Angling Centre have some in, £95 a pair. Absolute bargain.

That is a bargain, half tempted to get myself a 2nd set at that price. Very good quality reels regardless of the price

Daiwa Emcast 25a are a decent choice, can get them new for under £80 each and very easy to convert to qd if you wanted

Okuma Inc is already a FD so no conversion needed. I just bought some and can't believe how good they are for the price.

I have the Shim Ci4 5500, Emcast 25A, and Okuma 6000.
The 5500 is the best of the three as you would expect, with the Emcast next. (slightly better build\quality than the 6000)
The Emcast and 6000 weigh pretty much the same (6000 is a fraction lighter) , the 6000 is smaller and would be the Reel I'd go with for stalking..... the Daiwa casting. (slightly bigger spool)
As I recall the Okuma has a slightly quicker drag, but not stupid quick.

I have recently bought a set of 9ft rods, and did a lot of searching to get the best reels to match.
Being a person who would normally go and buy shimano.
I bought a shimano 5500 and okuma 6000, to play with them in the flesh, if you know what I mean.
The shimao was heavier by 18g, not that you would notice.
Didnt like the sticky rubber handle on the shimano or the clicking of the free spool knob on the front, also you had to loosen the drag of by more than a full turn to get the same freespool as the okuma 6000 which will freespool and 3/4 turn.
I decided to buy the Okuma inc 6000, bought 3 for the price of 1 shimano.
Have used them for about 9, 12 hour sessions, landed fish to 18lb, dont regret choosing a non shimano reel.
Time will tell...

Had my okumas for a year now, they've had some hammer and I don't treat my gear lightly. All are still great, the only small issue I've had is one of the wooden handles has split but this is an easy fix.

I have the same rods on my 9ft setup I use shimano ci4 5500s on them they feel great

Had fish to 30lb on my 9ft set up using okuma inception 6000 reels. Felt superb. No bother at all. You wont get a better reel for the money.

Hi Another for the Okuma Inc6000. Already had 3 on my 10ft set up,just bought a 4th for my floater rod. They are everything everyone says they are...Perfect size/weight,QD when bought,smooth,reliable and the right price. How long or if at all Shimano etc take notice? Okumas have been under the radar for a while ,but their day is looming!!
