Aside from the Medway fine my heart goes out to all the other people listed as being fined. To have the shame hanging over then must be horrible, for people in the local post office or pub about the situation must really impact their mental health. If it was me I'd really struggle to venture out, I'm sure I would be shunned by friends and relatives alike. I just can't imagine the pain, shame and embarrassment fishing those Day Ticket Watets 
On another note regarding having a two rod license and fishing with 3 ( and me stirring the pot) if you purchased 2 bottles of Smirnoff vodka and stole a 3rd is this less of a crime than just stealing 1?

And if its just the odd time you use extra rod it might be worth considering a day license @ £7.30

It's more of a case of walking out of the shop after buying 2 bottles of vodkas, getting home and realising you had accidentally picked up 3.

If the land is owned by the fishery upon climbing fences to gain unauthorised access they can be prosecuted by the fishery owner on the grounds of unlawful entry onto private property which will likely include damage to the fences.
They have to seek permission to enter of which the owner has to provide reasonable access.
On some venues you have different gates to access different lakes, typically the fishery owner or his bailiffs have to be present.

On the vodka situation yes it always is better for the owner if you buy 2 and rob a 3rd because he will have the profit of the 2 you purchase to off set his loses rather than you just steal one and buy none

You can purchase a 3 rod licence on .gov, same place you buy a 2 rod one.

The EA don't own the waters. They're not providing anything in exchange the license purchase. They don't even enforce the laws on polluting rivers.
A better analogy might be that Tony Soprano is running a protection racket. He has decided that you need to pay him not to vandalise your cars. You have only paid him not to vandalise 2 of them so he has the right to break the windscreen of the third.

Not really the point is it. If you don't like the way the government are spending your taxes you can't not pay a bit. If you think the police are wasting funds, you can't not pay a fine.
Buying a 2 rod license and fishing 3 rods is chancing it - pure and simple. This isn't a holier than thou answer but fact - you would hope that nothing comes of it as obviously the poster regularly purchases a license and on this occasion was on a 3 rod water. To argue any other way is madness. You have to take 3 rods to the venue so it's not an oversight - nor was the posters defence in the opening post.
So yes absolutely our license money doesn't seem to be spent very well - however I would rather try and change that than scrapping them. I haven't been checked in over 20 years but would hope that at least some of money goes on checking, not because I'm some silly Karen but because some regulation is better than none. I would hope kids licenses are super cheap.
