Looking for up to date recommendations for an ultra light bedchair. No sleep systems, just the bed. Not bothered about height either, solely weight. Cheers 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

As per another post - Wychwood Tactical X Compact - 6.5kgs

Tacticals are quite 'stiff' and need a SIM IME . . .however if its only overnighters you will save weight without - use mine with a Helium 3.8 which is only another 750g

I have the Trakker RLX superlite, its also 6.5kg. Had mine around 7/8 years without issues. It is slightly narrower than a normal bed, but never bothered me.

Cygnet ones come in at around 8kg, which isn't bad for 65 quid

JRC stealth is 6.5 kilo. If you take thead head end legs off its 5.8 kg, just use your bucket at the head end for support. Depends how keen you are to save weight.
My trakker superlight was over 7 kilo. Dont believe the specs given by companies.

I also find mine super comfy, more comfy than a lot of padded heavier chairs I've had

Its hard to track down an actual light weight bedchair. JRC stealths for example are long gone.

The old rlx flatbeds come in around 7-7.5kg and are much lighter than the new mkII versions

I have all three bedchairs in the loft! (i went thru a phase lol) .... The Trakker is the only full size and amazingly light for its size and very comfortable with a SIM on top.

Interesting replies, and having used the JRC lighter ones, they're good.

However, and it is all each to their own, I like to be able to sleep at night and have found the heavier bedchairs suit me best for that. The light ones just have so much more movement.

But if you're stealth, and don't have a problem sleeping then the lighter ones are great, for sure.

I have the Solar Sleeptec MK1. It is fkn heavy, but I keep the rest of my gear light to compensate, and still be mobile to move on fish.

I've had a few lightweight beds and the Trakker rlx supalight is the best and most comfortable and, although not quite the lightest, still very light. Pair it with a techlite and lob a sim under it and I don't think it can be beaten for the comfort/weight ratio.

After many years of using it I'm on my second and have already got a new third one stored in case they stop selling them

Cheers for replies everyone. I currently use a whychwood tactical x and the techlite bag, so I know I'm there or thereabouts on weight. But as my bedchair is literally falling apart I thought I'd see if there were any newer versions that'd come out recently. It seems as though weight isn't really a factor in brand new versions.

Carp fishing has gone bonkers. 20kg bivvy systems and 15kg+ Sleep systems, Bait boats etc

That's what barrows are for

Quite frankly as I get older I couldn't give 2 hoots about weight, it's all about comfort, long gone are the days of just a chair, wavelock 50" and a warm set of clothes. They had there place and I won't critique folks for doing just that either, but it's not for me anymore.

Prices have gone up but materials and design have gone down.

Also generally speaking the people that are using them heavy items are also purchasing lovely electric powered barrows too lol
