Hi guys looking at getting one of these really like the look of it but a quick couple of questions been and looked at the recliner today and now not sure

1 so goes to shop and found the chair all the legs extended right up tried to pop them down and 2 out 4 legs the mechanism was jammed tight and wouldn't close so my question is has anyone else experienced this

2 it was also the recliner version and where the recliner mechanism met the chair it seemed loosely fitted moving around anyone had a problem with this breaking

Chap in the tackle shop said it wasn't a return and said they do get bounced on and fiddled with but surely they can take more abuse than a shop floor

I've got the normal version and the legs are fine on it and the same on the solar bedchair I own.They are really well made and the sofa chair is really comfy

1, Wife uses hers for camping, no issues with the legs jamming 👍

I've got the normal bigger solar sofa and mines been perfect in the last 10 months I've owned it best chair I've ever bought

Was hoping it would go this way really fancy this chair just torn between fixed or recliner

I have sat in mine all weekend and no aches or pains,I would definitely buy the recliner.It wasn't available when I got the normal one,I can imagine on a nice summers evening having a nice snooze reclined back on it

The recliner mechanism is the bit that puts me off. I dosent look robust enough. If i got one it would be the standard version as never recliney current c-tec chair at that reclines.

I've got the compact one and the legs have been fine on it since I got it back in June. If I crank the front legs right up, it's pretty much reclined as much as I'd want it to anyway.
I can't comment on the recliner model as it wasn't available when I bought mine. I would still buy the same one now anyway, by far the best and most comfortable chair I've ever had.

I see Fox have today launched a clone of the Sofa chair.

The makers of these chairs mst be having a right laugh, won't be long before ones available at half the price but without the branding..... naturally it'll be crap without the Carp Tax!

Same, I bought mine recently when Browns were having that 30% off clearance sale.

I considered the recliner but didn't like the look of the strength of the additional workings. Also I didn't really need that functionality.

As Vossy says, Fox released a VERY similar looking chair recently (?today?) I saw the clip on Facebook with Mozza promoting it.
I did like the fact it had some basic little pockets either side (would be handy for keys / remote receiver). The pockets could be pushed up under the seat if you didn't want them hanging down where they stayed due to Velcro

Wasn't the Solar order compact, sofa, recliner...thinking about it?

Funny, at least 10 years ago on here, when by the way we couldn't be classed as old (not that you can be classed as old now...that makes you ageist....lol) we were asking for comfier chairs and taller bivvies...hmm.....ahead of the trend again!

Yes, but now I'm old I cant carry the heavy comfortable crap. So I'm having to go back to light and minimalist like when I was a kid. Then I couldn't afford the good stuff, now I can't afford to carry it too.

Apparently the Solar Sofa chair and the new Fox chair weigh the same at 5.9kg, only 1.7kg more than the Fox Duralight. I'm sure my old Fox chair can't be far off the Sofa but it's far less bulky.

I was hoping to try one out but no one has them on stock near Southampton. I don't fancy getting one on line without trying it. Anyone know who's got them in stock ?

Quite a few have said the same, ended up buying anyway and have been happy they did.
I do understand though, personally I wouldn't but the Mrs said she'd use it if I didn't like it, as it happened she took it anyway

My only critique, I found the very front edge annoyed the ligaments behind my knee as you really do sink into it. We both prefer to use it with a cushion.

I really want a high back myself but I'm sorely tempted by the Sofa Chair after trying/seeing/owning it.

What is the sofa chair like vs the C-Tech Recliner Chair (I have the Mk1 / Low version) in terms of bulk / comfort?

Comfier and lightweight,I slide mine down the back of my bedchair at night in my ultralite.I store my coat in it with headtorch on top so it's all easy grab if I ever do get a run in the night

I purchased the Solar SP-Tech Compact Sofa Chair CTCH02M recently only to find after using it for the second time one of the legs jammed . I could not get it into the closed position!. Buyers beware. Now in the process of getting it returned.

Chap on my syndi has one and he said ‘pick it up', so knowing what my CTech is like I braced myself and then proceeded to nearly throw it in the air 🤣 yes they are incredibly light

Not sure whats going on with solar these days but they get slated in the solar facebook groups, especially their power barrow.

The power barrow rear wheels are not fit for purpose at all and bend all over the place!

I have just bought a sofa chair and hopefully it's fit for purpose.

It's heavy compared to some and a pita if you walk and carry your gear, but it is incredibly comfortable and the fabric doubles as a bit of insulation this time of year.

I was opting towards the solar sofa recliner but heard a few people say the fox is better.

Have both the Solar was my first one, now i use the Fox and my 9 year old son the Solar, the Fox for me is the better one

Just ordered the sonik comfy chair. Looks very similar to the fox and solar, however with th tft sap and boxing day discount code was £90. Figures it's worth a punt at that money and having only used my 20 year jrc chair it'll be a big improvement from that.

Haven't tried the fox but opted for the solar due to being a little bit lighter. Has anyone tried the trakker equivalent? Looks massive

Looks just about identical to the Fox, but it looks to be missing the 3 position adjustable back.
Still, a good price though.

I sat on the trakker one in the local tackle shop and the both solar and fox ones were more comfy
