My angling this year is back to being limited to a mad dash round the m25 after work on a Friday night. With a quick sat morning pack up and back off to work. This means that a lot of the swims closest to the car parks will be gone and I'm gonna be heading off to the far sides of the lakes each visit. So weight and bulk needs cutting down, as well as speed of set up and pack up.
For years I've had two shelters. A full size tempest and a mk1 fast n light. The Mk1 has finally died. For the short session stuff in summer my go to was the fast/light but in all honesty it was a little on the small side if the weather changed there wasn't quite enough cover. Which then resulted in needed the over wrap. Which is one more thing to carry and kinda not fast anymore. I'm not taking my tempest for one short night. So I've decided I need another oval type brolly. Here in lies the problem. I'd settled on the low pro2 but that seems out of stock everywhere, I wonder if production of that has ended now, and I'm a little concerned the solar Sptec bedchair might be too big for it anyway. I've looked on Johnson Ross and it seems that no one makes a brolly anymore. Trakker are all tempest. Aqua only have FastLight which I've already had. Wouldn't touch Fox brolly after the disaster I had with my supabrolly. Solar don't seem to do their quick brolly shelter thingy anymore.
So I'm a bit stuffed. Any ideas?

Are using a bedchair for an overnighter. So I'd guess you'd be taking a barrow? If so, then the weight isn't a big issue, just use a tempest brolly or whatever you have.
I use a small korum brolly if I do a short night, chair, flask and butties fishing. OK for a chair but maybe too small for a bedchair.

If your back can cope with it then the ESP Lo Pro has been great for me. I've changed because I wanted something bigger but for quick overnighters its so light and easy. The extras are light too - mozzie mesh etc.

You can still get the JRC Stealth brolly. I have one as a backup to my Solar and it is decent. I have considered selling it as it gets virtually no use as the Solar is lasting well but as you say, the other options out there are limited for a true brolly so been holding on to it

I'm in a similar position Wayne. One lake in my club has a hill from carp park to lake, and it's a killer and hence the need to something small and light.
My son has an old TF Gear oval brolly which weighs in at about 4kg, and whilst it's a bit long pack down size, I'd put up with that because of the weight. But he uses it and obviously they're not around anymore to buy so my search continues.
A couple I've found which may be OK but will need further investigation.
1. Korum Progress Graphite Brolly Shelter 50", a round (not oval) brolly with sides and weighs in at 3.6kg. Write up says 2.1mt which should fit a bedchair under but it looks quite small.
2. Corus Fishing 60" Brolly Rx, an oval brolly with sides. Only thing with this is I can't find the weight anywhere, I've messaged them and no response. Also not sure about the quality as I have never bought anything by Corus.
I'd be interested to know what you end up getting.

Have used it so far as a day brolly when fishing in the rain. Proven itself robust, waterproof, very rapid up and down. Also don't need the two centre poles when the front isn't zipped in.
Large enough to take a bed, so will be using it thus in the coming weeks with the improving weather.

Solar Undercover Brolly is good for me. Prefer it to the 100T and Ultralite and about half the price of the Aqua.

Stripped down nylon tempest brolly surely has to be the ideal ? you'd only need the brolly without the bag, possibly the mozzie infill if you dont like the mozzies and 3 pegs would be all you need - up in seconds and weighs next to nothing and up as quick if not quicker than a brolly.

I agree, a bog standard Tempest Brolly is hard to beat in terms of weight to coverage ratio. Ditch all the bells and whistles and it's a handy little shelter.

I use mine for overnighters during the week, and wouldn't be without it.

Used brollies for years, crouching down each time you are in or out, limited for usable space. I use a Tempest 100T now, never going back to a brolly - especially with the spokes and hub inside.
Tempest or similar, lightweight, up in 2mins and enough space for a session for one person no problem.

You got me onto this setup before the forum went down, and I love it. So good for a day session. And your advice about the storm caps was spot on.
My only gripe is that I am 6ft 6, and it is definitely on the smallish side for me, but it works.
It will be great for my 6 yearold boy and I when we are on a lake in the summer and need it set up as a normal brolly too for a break from the sun.
The ease of putting it up/down means that moving swim is not an issue.

I hear you on these, but getting in and out of the Korum progress graphite shelter is a nightmare with the sides setup, unless you're about 5 ft.

Fairly certain my Tempest V2 Air isn't to disimilar in footprint to the Temptest Brolly and I wouldn't be without it for days/short overnighters (though I have used it for weeks away with the wrap).
Carping wise I went from the Fox Evo (loved it would get another in a second) to the Fox Supa (hated the boss inside, personal thing) to the Tempest Air.
The Tempest Brolly comes in at 5.5kg, I was going to mention the Fox Frontier Lite but that's 8kg.

I got an axs brolly , not your conventional brolly as such , but it's taller , helps me limbo under it easier 😂, light and goes up dead quick , tons of room. Only downside is it does need storm poles when windy as it's a bit ‘ wobbly ‘..... might be worth a look

I agree mate. 45 old nubrolli for the days but the tempest brolly is absolutely perfect for anything else. Size is great for putting in the Barrow as well.

Aqua Ultralite 100 with zero trimmings (ditch the infill & gsheet) - 5.3kg and can be set high or low - better head height and coverage than a fast & light and pretty much the same weight!

Monkey Climber x Forge camo brolly.
This is what I use all year round I have the mozzy mesh for it ,and a winter wrap which I don't use tbh.
