Nothing left to invent. They need new products and create solutions for problems that don't really exist. Just seen carpology advertising a big power unit with a full nespresso machine on the bank! I'm sure 99% of anglers would prefer if these companies improved the quality and durability of existing products.

wonder what product Ali hamidi has been crying about...he reckons its going to.change fishing forever,crying his eyes out on social media saying its the best thing ever ffs
Cheaper than the Daiwa line loader often recommend on here and you get a free bucket. Judging by the number of people on here that moan about line twist it wouldn't be a bad buy for them.

Oh God, I'm so out of touch, I still use a 5l plastic bucket than once had meat stock or gravy granules in it.
I've made the point in the past, and been slagged off for it, that we are often conned into buying items we don't need.

Sell, Sell, Sell. That's the priority. Whether it has any originality or longevity comes second. He appeals to a generation who want the "next big thing" until something new comes out. They've got an ex footballer on the front page of their site. The whole association with TV personalities (in my view) shows that projection, image and style is the forefront over functionality. Anyone still using their 60 quid bottle opener?

I've just spooled up a centrepin and used a pole from a shotgun cleaning kit wedged across the legs of a fold out table. I'll sell 1% of my business for £3 - any takers?
With regards to OMC, yeah Hamidi has gone for the locust approach and swarmed the market knowing full well that some items will in time become staples for people, i.e. the putty.
With Nash in uncertain times, I think OMC definitely will become a major player, Trakker stuff is awful rebranded Cygnet crap (other than the adjustable float), Fox just change the colour of their end tackle every year and seem short of innovation. Gardner and ESP if comparable to confectionary market are like Ferrero and Kinder whereas Korda and the like, are Cadburys.
What I will say is that them reels he's bringing out, look to be similar to shimano in design and the mainline did look good, now whether that's down to the line lay of the reels im not sure.

about 25 years ago while on holiday in the USA
I bought a Berkley spooling station and it came with a handy line stripper too I also bought a little clip on line counter then when the line counter packed up I replaced it with
the ROLLS ROYCE of line counters the brilliant Rapala RCD digital line counter love this it counts in feet though
but you set it say 500ft and when it reaches 500 it bleeps and also more importantly it keep perfect tension on the line too
when I used to Carp fish REAL LOT using 3 or 4 rods at a time I used to get thru a lot of line and changing line was never a problem and so easy it was money well spent IMHO
point of interest the plastic spool holder tensioning springy things wore out on the berkley spooling station so I contacted berkley and they sent me 2 sets FOC

I actually dont see the probelm with this, other than the price point being a bit high. But ill just show my mrs, and when she sees that she wont have to hold the spool on a screwdriver, tensioned with some old socks, she will no doubt buy it for me, so value for money for her.
People are always moaning about the lack of new products, yet waiting to junp on them and hammer them when they launch
It solves a problem. And when youre not spooling up your reels, its a collapsible water bucket.

but for twenty odd quid you get a handy folding bucket that dont take up any space and solves the problem of respooling easily on your own

It was all part of fishing, it seems people hardly do that nowadays and prefer to buy something nicely packaged and presented on a sponsored display stand in there tackle shop, or they buy it online after watching a youtube video.
I sometime wonder if people are lured into fishing by the amount of gadgets and merchandising available more than simply wetting a line.

I'm not into a line stripper, but I can't deny how handy they are.
My removing line from the reel is done while watching television, by hand.
I reel it onto an old line spool, and I can then return it easily to the line bank in my local tackle shop.

Yes the D stripper from Ace had one but the lugs on the cap went brittle and snapped off after a couple of years Carpspirit picked the product up.
