Good luck to him. He will catch on any half decent bait.
Most exciting will be the new venues and contacts I'll have at my disposal, something I've started to struggle with in recent times.
Is Terry hearn running out of venues... never

Not really surpising if you look at what they "developed" as bait in last few years.

ka-ching £££££££
The only company big enough to supply him that amount of bait, and sponsorship, etc, that he hasn't already been associatted with previously.
Also let him get on with what he does best.
Its a huge result for sticky. Be interesting now.

I think after 20 years he's allowed to have a change of scenery so to speak
Makes you wonder if he will also now use thinking anglers stuff as they do seem to be entwined.

I'd move jobs too if I had to chat to Rob Hughes at the Christmas party..

Yes, Exactly, of course you can change jobs. Only time will tell regarding the TA stuff, etc.
I like the ESP brand, think it is well made, and time tested and proven.
Tel is only going to catch even more special ones now

E.S.P don't need to market anything. The quality of their gear has been enough to market itself the last 25 years.
Loosely linked, but any company that asks for complete strangers to "field test" stuff that's already on the market is one to be swerved. It just smells of "I've bought 10000 swivels and need someone to advertise it on the 'gram". Hence why you get total strangers adding you as a "friend" then delete it after two days because the request has been rightly ignored.
Hearn has managed to somehow be a complete anomaly for the past 30 years, and I think he'll still be able to be the best marketing feature for a company despite doing almost next to nothing for both print and visual media in comparison to those who earn a living clubbing seals in overstocked puddles.
He's the 1% within the 5% of those who still remember proper carp fishing before someone stuck a camera into Horseshoe in 2005 and the new carp angling mantras were written.

I find it quite refreshing that they don't have all the social media ******** that comes with the other brands, they let their history and products speak for them.

Terry Hearn to me is the one angler I would trust genuinely to move companies for a genuine reason, not just because he gets the most money or best deal.
I personally think Dynamite had gone a bit flat with baits, doing pretty much the same thing for years, and not able to compete with the likes of Mainline, Sticky, ABS, even Baitworks.
As for ESP and Drennan, they produce very few bad products, and have a very effective sales team, with good tackle reps.

Let's not be naive, he needs to make a living and the move is more than likely for the money, but nothing wrong with that, it's his job.
Any good angler could go to any decent bait firm and catch as many fish as he/she did before. If you read or listen to any of the more honest angling media the story is the same. Put in the work/time, learn the water, put any decent bait in the right place and be consistent and they catch them. Can't think of many times when any angler genuinely says they had it all right and nothing happened, then they used a different boilie and it all changed.
I've fished a lake at the same time as TH. Lovely bloke. I believe he used white pops up topped with a tiger. I'm guessing the pop up let the tiger sit on the silt, the tiger probably did the work. He just moved around and knew the fish better than anyone else. So he spanked us

They are clearly doing something right as they're still trading. They make quality gear at reasonable prices and when they release a product video its in the shops within a week or two not months like Fox and some other companies

They also make some of the best videos too.
They do enough marketing without going overboard.
Haven't nash just released a video using a drone to spot a specific carp to target whilst surface fishing? You'd never see ESP do anything like that, and imo that'll get them more sales than Nash get from the video!

In that case why do plenty of companies in plenty of industries not feel the need to advertise on TV or social media?
When was the last time you saw an advert for WD40? They don't need to. Despite their being a vast range of alternatives in a broad market, they don't need some Essex Z lister spraying a door lock on the 'gram because they know their **** works, as does their customers. For example, 50 year old Dave from Dartford has been using their stuff for years, he has recommended it for 30 years to all his mates in the trade he has met along the way. No need for insta because A) Dave isn't on Insta as he's not of that generation and B) none of his 50 year old mates in the trade are neither.
Companies aren't daft. They know their younger consumer base is maleable. Hence why you have Essex Z listers selling products to teenagers and women with body dysmorphia.
ESP don't need to do the above, because they can put their costs elsewhere rather than trying to convince 50 year old blokes that their swivel is better than the rest. The 50 year old bloke (minus the ones that wear Camo at Sandown) can see through it. The 15 year old who looks upto Alan Blair? easy pickings.
ESP don't need to "stay relevant" because their market isn't a 15 year old chucking zigs out at Royston Bruv. The market doesn't change, Fads do.

@AideyKaye,
You've also started breaking into my point about 'brainwashed' that so upset someone on the Carping Hacks thread.
Many people are conned, brainwashed or whatever term into buying things by advertising, yet many items we don't need.
Just as an example, Flash All Purpose cleaner, according to the name, will clean everything, but I need Flash kitchen cleaner for the kitchen, Flash Bathroom for the bathroom, etc. That's Flash convinced you to 3 items when 1 will do, do I need distance sticks, (sorry dig...)
Anglers are no different, Ali Hamidi and his style convincing the 'yoof' of today that Korda, OMC are the in thing. Alan Blair that Nash is it.
Terry Hearn is an angling icon, from before the big mega media age, anglers who started fishing from the 1990's will have heard of him, his use of ESP tackle, his bait companies and why he moved.
ESP in the tackle shops sell themselves. Good reps, good tackle, with rare failures, and they don't need to be flashy in your face.

I thought you were taking the mickey, then I hit the power of Google...
I must admit ESP are not my first choice of company, not for any tackle reason, but down to a 'consultant' or sponsored angler being quite rude. It most definitely was not Terry Hearn, but was in response to a big debate on certain tackle items. Keith Moors also spoke out and had agreed with what I'd said.
