Have managed to loose my waterproof jacket somehow. What's everyone's go to jacket? Quite like the look of the korda dry kore one of anyone uses it?

the big sizes are gone now but if your Large or less ? far better and no carp tax

Costs a fair bit but I absolutely love my Fortis Marine Jacket.

Sorry if a bit off topic but anyone have any experience of the Trakker two piece for waterproofing and warmth?

I love my fox tri layer 3/4 jacket it's so well made and is 100% waterproof and windproof been out in some savage weather in it and never had a problem

How is the jacket size wise?

Got absolutely p**sed on the last two days in the goretex Berghaus jacket from Go Outdoors, think it's called the Maitland. It's kept me perfectly dry and haven't been sweating climbing in and out the boat. Might get the trousers now as my Vass rubberised salopettes are starting to leak and they do not breathe at all. They have done a few years to be fair.

I've got this jacket after your recommendation on the other thread, it's been faultless for me and the water still beads off and doesn't soak in, I've got a Berghaus gore-tex for everyday use and it's every bit as good, an absolute bargain.

I normally take a large but bought an xl so it would fit over whatever I was wearing ,layers etc. I would say they are true to size.

I also bought a couple on Gerry's recommendation. Thanks Gerry. I'm a medium and I recon I can get a thin fleece under mine along with a t shirt & sweat shirt

Thanks i have ordered a medium, in some coats like my snugpak torrent i have had to order a large but i only want this coat for walking the dog in warmer months so wont need much more than teeshirt or jumper underneath

Total fishing have the fox tri layer 3/4 jacket for £60 currently with their extra money off sale. Great value I'd say. Just ordered one.

North face green light weight jacket never leaked always been faultless

I would just get an army surplus Gore-Tex jacket. I think they cost around £30 - 40 last time I looked.

Seems I missed out on the Bergaus jacket which looked quite nice..

Anybody know if the Galbraith Smock By Jack Pyke which i like also is waterproof and breathable, cant seem to see it stated on the actual Jack Pyke site?

I have the British army gortex jacket and also the German army goretex jacket which is in fact made from Seyntex ( which is similar, probably same but maybe unable to use the goretex trade name).

Both are excellent jackets, but, I would far rather use the German army version as the material is far softer, comfortable and more wearable especially for wearing it all day and sleeping in if you have too. Plus it folds up smaller too.

That smock is ideal for Spring and Autumn. It's is breathable, but you need to make sure you don't wear too many layers under it. Again, it is waterproof and I've had no issues in that regards z though I don't tend to use it if it's heavy rain. Quality wise it's definitely better than any angling branded gear I've had and as such I've bought more Jack Puke clothing since I got this about 4/5 years ago (and the smock is still going strong)
